It is found that the proton conductivity is enhanced by 15% while the hydrogen permeation is reduced by 45% after the addition of 1.5 wt% Ti3C2Tx filler into the SSC PFSA membrane. The improved proton conductivity of the composite membrane could be associated with the improved proton transport environment in the presence of the hydrophilic functional groups (such as -OH) of the Ti3C2Tx filler. The significantly reduced hydrogen permeation could be attributed to the incorporation of the impermeable Ti3C2Tx 2D fillers and the decreased hydrophilic ionic domain spacing examined by the small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) for the composite membrane. Furthermore, improved thermo-mechanical properties of the SSC/Ti3C2Tx composite membrane were measured by dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA) and tensile strength testing. The demonstrated higher proton conductivity, lower hydrogen permeation, and improved thermo-mechanical stability indicate that the SSC/Ti3C2Tx composite membranes could be a potential membrane material for PEM fuel cells operating above the water boiling temperature.This study proposes an innovative three-dimensional printing technology with submersion-light apparatus. A zirconia powder with an average particle size of 0.5 µm is mixed with 1,6-Hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA) and photo-initiator to form a slurry. The weight percentage of zirconia powder to HDDA is 7030 wt.%. A light engine box is submerged in a slurry and emits a layered pattern to induce photopolymerization and transform a slurry into a printed green body. Green body sintering parameters for the first and second stages are 380 °C with a holding time of 1.5 h and 1550 °C with a holding time of 2 h. The sintered parts' length, width, and height shrinkage ratios are 29.9%, 29.7%, and 30.6%. The ball milling decreases the powder particle size to 158 ± 16 nm and the mean grain size of the sintered part is 423 ± 25 nm. The model verification was carried out for the incompatibility of the mechanical seal in alloy 410, in which the porosity cluster was identified by the fluorescence method (FPI). The purpose of the analysis was created by the SMART(-ER) method. Then, a team of experts was selected from which the brainstorming (BM) was realized. After the BM method, the source of incompatibility and initial causes were identified. Then, the Ishikawa diagram (according to rule 5M + E) was developed to group the initial causes. Next, during the BM method, the main causes were selected. One of the ways to alleviate this problem is to consider the effects of scan strategies as it directly influences the thermal history of the built part. Since WAAM itself is an evolved welding process and even though it is evident from welding studies that phase transformations directly affect the residual stresses in welded parts, it remains unclear how the consideration of phase transformations for different scan strategies will affect the residual stresses and distortions in the WAAMed parts. A FEM study has been performed to elucidate the effects of phase transformations on residual stresses and the distortion for different deposition patterns. The alternate line pattern has been found to be the most consistent overall pattern.In the present study, powder of FeCoCrNiMo0.5Al1.3 HEA was manufactured by gas atomization process, and then used for laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) and microplasma spraying (MPS) technologies. In order to demonstrate the suitability of this technology for single-pass welding of 1.4462 duplex steel detailed studies of the microstructure of the weld joints obtained for different linear energies were carried out and discussed with respect to their mechanical properties. According to the results obtained, the heat-affected zone (HAZ) shows a microstructure similar to the HAZ of duplex steel welded with the traditional TIG multi-pass methods. However, the weld, due to the lack of filler material, had a microstructure different to that typical for duplex steel welded joints and was also characterized by an increased content of ferrite. However, all joints, both in terms of microstructure and mechanical properties, met the requirements of the relevant standards. Moreover, the K-TIG process can be carried out in the linear energy range typical of duplex steel welding, although further optimization is needed.Supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), such as fly ash (FA), blast furnace slag (BS), and silica fume (SF), have been mostly used as a replacement for Portland cement (PC). Replacing the SCMs with cement can provide improved strength characteristics; however, their applicability depends on the flow characteristics of the fresh mixtures. In this study, the rheological performance of cementitious suspensions in paste scale with different water-to-solid (W/S) volume ratios, varied from 1.25, 1.50, 1.75, 2.00, 2.25, to 2.50, was evaluated. As a result of the rheological tests, the yield stress and plastic viscosity of PC, FA, BS, and SF suspensions decreased as the W/S ratio increased. This study also estimated the inter-particle distances of the cementitious suspensions, and their relationship to the rheological properties was established. The inter-particle distances of the PC, FA, BS, and SF suspensions were in the ranges of 5.74~14.67 µm, 5.18~11.66 µm, 3.82~9.34 µm, and 0.107~0.27 µm, respectively. For very fine particles with a large surface area, the sensitivity to the rheological properties was high and the sensitivity was low when the particle sizes increased, indicating that the rheological properties were more sensitive to fine particles.The inhibiting effect of Gum Arabic-nanoparticles (GA-NPs) to control the corrosion of reinforced concrete that exposed to carbon dioxide environment for 180 days has been investigated. The steel reinforcement of concrete in presence and absence of GA-NPs were examined using various standard techniques. The physical/surface changes of steel reinforcement was screened using weight loss measurement, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In addition, the carbonation resistance of concrete as well screened using visual inspection (carbonation depth), concrete alkalinity (pH), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), SEM, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The GA-NPs inhibitor size was also confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results obtained revealed that incorporation of 3% GA-NPs inhibitor into concrete inhibited the corrosion process via adsorption of inhibitor molecules over the steel reinforcement surface resulting of a protective layer formation.
