Considering the results obtained here along with those from the original line, it is clear that the 5-5 genotype can generate specific changes in starch characteristics and staling regardless of its genetic background. Thus, we renamed the 5-5 wheat lines "Slow Staling" (SS) wheat. As expected, our results indicated that the hard wheat SS NIL was more suitable for bread-making. On the other hand, we found that white salted noodle made with the SS NIL of the soft wheat variety had a relatively shorter cooking time, a softer texture, and a reduction in textural changes during storage, all of which are potentially useful for noodle manufacturers.By the aid of the catalytic desymmetrization of divinylcarbinol as one-pot asymmetric induction and protection of olefin, asymmetric total syntheses of two chiral hydroxylated fatty acid derivatives were successfully achieved. The desired stereoisomers could be concisely prepared in mild conditions in a highly convergent manner. Thus, this novel strategy can help stereochemical elucidations of natural products, which have difficulties in spectroscopic stereochemical analyses due to their local symmetries in the vicinities of the stereogenic secondary hydroxyl units.Pesticide leaching and soil contamination are major issues in the present agriculture formulations. Hence, here 2D graphene oxide in combination with cationic, anionic, or nonionic polymers were tested for runoff resistance and targeted release behavior. Cationic polymer supplemented the binding of rGO on leaf surface by 30% more than control and reduced off-target leaching in soil by 45% more than control. Further, to enhance the fruit rot control caused by Colletotrichum capsici in chili crop, the rGO was decorated with Cu2-xSe nanocrystals, which provided combined disease control with captan. The chitosan coating in the nanocomposite added targeted pH-responsive fungal inhibition behavior and could reduce the C. capsici growth by ∼1/2 times compared to captan control.Sulfuryl fluoride is a valuable reagent for the one-pot activation and derivatization of aliphatic alcohols, but the highly reactive alkyl fluorosulfate intermediates limit both the types of reactions that can be accessed as well as the scope. Herein, we report the SO2F2-mediated alcohol substitution and deoxygenation method that relies on the conversion of fluorosulfates to alkyl halide intermediates. This strategy allows the expansion of SO2F2-mediated one-pot processes to include radical reactions, where the alkyl halides can also be exploited in the one-pot deoxygenation of primary alcohols under mild conditions (52-95% yield). This strategy can also enhance the scope of substitutions to nucleophiles that are previously incompatible with one-pot SO2F2-mediated alcohol activation and enables substitution of primary and secondary alcohols in 54-95% yield. Chiral secondary alcohols undergo a highly stereospecific (90-98% ee) double nucleophilic displacement with an overall retention of configuration. With many apparent advantages including high surface area, tunable pore sizes and topologies, and diverse periodic organic-inorganic ingredients, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been identified as versatile precursors or sacrificial templates for preparing functional materials as advanced electrodes or high-efficiency catalysts for electrochemical energy storage and conversion (EESC). In this Mini Review, we first briefly summarize the material design strategies to show the rich possibilities of the chemical compositions and physical structures of MOFs derivatives. We next highlight the latest advances focusing on the composition/structure/performance relationship and discuss their practical applications in various EESC systems, such as supercapacitors, rechargeable batteries, fuel cells, water electrolyzers, and carbon dioxide/nitrogen reduction reactions. Finally, we provide some of our own insights into the major challenges and prospective solutions of MOF-derived functional materials for EESC, hoping to shed some light on the future development of this highly exciting field. The dysregulation of renin-angiotensin-system (RAS) plays a pivotal role in hypertension and in the development of the related target organ damage (TOD). The main goal of treating hypertension is represented by the long-term reduction of cardiovascular (CV) risk. RAS inhibition either by angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE)-inhibitors or by type 1 Angiotensin II receptors blockers (ARBs), reduce the incidence of CV events in hypertensive patients. Actually, ACE-inhibitors and ARBs have been demonstrated to be effective to prevent, or delay TOD like left ventricular hypertrophy, chronic kidney disease, and atherosclerosis. The beneficial effects of RAS blockers on clinical outcome of hypertensive patients are due to the key role of angiotensin II in the pathogenesis of TOD. PLX-4720 mouse In particular, Angiotensin II through an inflammatory-mediated mechanism plays a role in the initiation, progression and vulnerability of atherosclerotic plaque. In addition, Angiotensin II can be considered the hormonal transductor of the pressure overload in cardiac myocytes, and through an autocrine-paracrine mechanism plays a role in the development of left ventricular hypertrophy. Angiotensin II by modulating the redox status and the immune system participates to the development of chronic kidney disease. The RAS blocker should be considered the first therapeutic option in patients with hypertension, even if ACE-inhibitors and ARBs have different impact on CV prevention. ARBs seem to have greater neuro-protective effects, while ACE-inhibitors have greater cardio-protective action. The coexisting presence of hydatid disease with aspergillus colonization is a rare finding. The 20-year-old presented with symptoms of hemoptysis with past history of tuberculosis. On further evaluation, the patient was diagnosed as a case of aspergilloma and managed conservatively. After one year of presenting with similar complaints, the patient was turned out to be hydatid disease with aspergillus colonization on the basis of clinic-radiological and bronchoscopic evaluation. Till now only a few case reports have been reported. We report a unique case report of a similar presentation.
