However, the protein profile exhibits change of trehalose layer as responses to AnTre treatment. The observed biological results were also supported by interaction simulation based on molecular docking between trehalose and AnTre enzyme. In conclusion, this enzymatic approach could be developed into selective and effective mechanism to control Acanthamoeba without affecting the host especially mammals due to the absence of trehalose elements in the tissues of mammals.Parasitic infections are a major setback to livestock production in Ghana but the disease situation in many localities is poorly understood. A study to determine the prevalence and distribution of Taenia hydatigena in goats and sheep was carried out in two major municipal abattoirs in Tamale and Wa. click here A total of 538 goats and 256 sheep were screened for cysts during a cross-sectional survey which revealed a prevalence of 22.34% and 33.96% in goats from Tamale and Wa, respectively, and 22.66% in sheep from Tamale. Infection was common in male and female, young and old animals alike. Animals considered in the study originated from various localities within Northern and Upper West Regions and T. hydatigena infection was thought to be autochthonous, depicting a wide distribution of the cestode infection in small ruminants. Our data represent the importance of T. hydatigena infection in goat and sheep production and provide a base for subsequent epidemiological studies in Ghana.Child Toxocariasis (CT) is one of the most important helminthic parasitic diseases in Iran. The current study was aimed to determine the seroprevalence of toxocariasis in children in Zahedan, southeast of Iran. In this cross-sectional study, serum samples of 373 children aged 3-13 years old referred to health centers in Zahedan were collected randomly with criteria based on the parameters that were used in earlier studies and examined for anti-Toxocara antibody using a commercial ELISA kit. Of the 373 recruited subjects, 206 (55.2%) were male and 167 (44.8%) were female. Most of the subjects (36.5%) were in the age group 3-4 years old. Anti-Toxocara antibodies were detected in the sera of five out of 373 individuals, corresponding to a seroprevalence rate of 1.3%. A significant correlation was found between the incidence of disease and eosinophilia, a history of contact with dogs or cats, as well as the consumption of raw vegetables and drinking of contaminated water. There was no significant correlation between prevalence and gender or age. The finding of this study revealed that the prevalent CT is relatively low in Zahedan region. The rate of CT infection in the southeast of Iran was lower than the rate in other parts of Iran.Cutaneous leishmaniasis is one of the diseases that severely affects human skin. Nanogels are the well-known formulation for topical drug delivery due to easy usage, high loading capacity, and physical and chemical stabilities. In this study, the toxicity effect of three essential oils, including Mentha piperita, Anethum graveolens, and Citrus limon (CLEO), was evaluated against Leishmania major and Leishmania tropica. Ingredients of CLEO as the most potent essential oil were identified using GC-MS analysis. The five major components were limonene (61.83%), sabinene (16.99%), trans-limonene oxide (3.08%), cis-limonene oxide (2.27%), and 1,2-cyclohexane diol, 1-methyl-4-(1-methylethenyl) (1.50%). The nanogel of CLEO (CLNgel) was prepared by the addition of carbomer 940 (1% w/v) to the prepared nanoemulsion with a droplet size of 146 ± 12 nm. The viscosity of CLNgel was fitted with a regression of non-Newtonian materials, Carreau-Yasuda. Interestingly, CLNgel at a concentration of 80 µg/mL reduced the viability of both species to 0%. Therefore, the prepared prototype can/could/would be used as an excellent nanoformulation for in vivo studies. The infection with members of the Trichostrongylid nematodes has been frequently reported from sheep and goats. Because of the widespread use of Benzimidazoles (BZs), the resistance suspected to occur in some worms populations. In this study, we focused on the prevalent nematode, Marshallagia marshalli, from the abomasa of sheep. Samples were obtained from at least 10 infected farms and diagnosed with morphological and molecular methods. For resistance analysis, genomic DNA from pooled adult samples of all farms were analysed for the beta tubulin gene to detect any polymorphisms at codon positions of F167Y, E198A and F200Y. According to the results, seven farms (70%) revealed resistance (R) allele at F200Y with relatively high frequency. No other mutations were identified at the other two positions. Also, except for one homozygous (RR) occasion, the isolates with R allele had heterozygous (RS) genotype. This finding indicates that the worm populations are still affected by drugs of the BZ class. However, the genetic data also notes on developing resistance mechanisms in M. marshalli populations in sheep. The Diagnosis of hydatidosis is still an unsolved issue due to difficulties in obtaining of patient's hydatid cyst appropriate for antigen extraction. This study evaluated the suitability of HC protoscolices somatic antigens (HCPsS-Ag) fractions from animal origin to substitute that extracted from HC of patients in diagnosis of hydatidosis using enzyme-linked immunoelectro-transfer blot and Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Eight fractions in HC-G6 from patients react specifically versus HC-G6 infected patient's sera. Five of them (28, 32, 38, 59 and 89 Kilo Dalton (KDa) and two of them (28 KDa and 45 KDa) reacted versus HC-G1 and HC-G4 infected sheep and equine sera, respectively. Six fractions in HCPsS-Ag-G1 of sheep react versus HC-G1 sheep infected sera, four (28, 32, 52 and 58 KDa) and two of them reacted versus HC-G6 and HC-G4 infected patient and equine sera, respectively. Two fractions only in HCPsS-Ag-G4 of equine reacted versus infected human and sheep sera. This fraction displayed the same degree of ELISA value versus different infected sera with a significantly perfect classification for kappa agreement and non-statistically significant difference (p ≥ 0.05) for ELISA Optical density values of the positive samples without cross-reaction versus other parasites antibodies in sera. HCPsS-Ag from HC genotypes that developed in humans and animals as HC-G6 and HC-G1 can substitute each other for diagnosis of infection than antigens extracted from non-zoonotic HC-G4. The fraction at 28 KDa is the only fraction that can be extracted from any animals HC and used in diagnosis of zoonotic hydatidosis.
