Extreme learning machine (ELM) algorithm is widely used in regression and classification problems due to its advantages such as speed and high-performance rate. Different artificial intelligence-based optimization methods and chaotic systems have been proposed for the development of the ELM. However, a generalized solution method and success rate at the desired level could not be obtained. In this study, a new method is proposed as a result of developing the ELM algorithm used in regression problems with discrete-time chaotic systems. ELM algorithm has been improved by testing five different chaotic maps (Chebyshev, iterative, logistic, piecewise, tent) from chaotic systems. The proposed discrete-time chaotic systems based ELM (DCS-ELM) algorithm has been tested in steel fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete data sets and public four different datasets, and a result of its performance compared with the basic ELM algorithm, linear regression, support vector regression, kernel ELM algorithm and weighted ELM algorithm. It has been observed that it gives a better performance than other algorithms.Industry 4.0 is the digitalization of the manufacturing systems based on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for developing a manufacturing system to gain efficiency and improve productivity. Cloud Manufacturing (CM) is a paradigm of Industry 4.0. Cloud Manufacturing System (CMS) considers anything as a service. The end product is developed based on the service composition in the CMS according to consumers' needs. Also, composite services are developed based on the interaction of MCS providers from different geographical locations. Therefore, the appropriate Manufacturing Cloud Service (MCS) composition is an important problem based on the real-world conditions in CMS. The game theory studies the mathematical model development based on interactions between MCS providers according to real-world conditions. This research develops an Equilibrial Service Composition Model in Cloud Manufacturing (ESCM) based on game theory. MCS providers and consumers get benefits mutually based on ESCM. In recent years, deep learning methods have successfully solved many forecast problems. In this paper, we utilized multiple factors for the stock price forecast. The news articles and PTT forum discussions are taken as the fundamental analysis, and the stock historical transaction information is treated as technical analysis. The state-of-the-art natural language processing tool BERT are used to recognize the sentiments of text, and the long short term memory neural network (LSTM), which is good at analyzing time series data, is applied to forecast the stock price with stock historical transaction information and text sentiments. According to experimental results using our proposed models, the average root mean square error (RMSE ) has 12.05 accuracy improvement.Rust is an innovative programming language initially implemented by Mozilla, developed to ensure high performance, reliability, and productivity. The final purpose of this study consists of applying a set of common static software metrics to programs written in Rust to assess the verbosity, understandability, organization, complexity, and maintainability of the language. To that extent, nine different implementations of algorithms available in different languages were selected. We computed a set of metrics for Rust, comparing them with the ones obtained from C and a set of object-oriented languages C++, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript. To parse the software artifacts and compute the metrics, it was leveraged a tool called rust-code-analysis that was extended with a software module, written in Python, with the aim of uniforming and comparing the results. The Rust code had an average verbosity in terms of the raw size of the code. It exposed the most structured source organization in terms of the number of methods. Rust code had a better Cyclomatic Complexity, Halstead Metrics, and Maintainability Indexes than C and C++ but performed worse than the other considered object-oriented languages. Lastly, the Rust code exhibited the lowest COGNITIVE complexity of all languages. The collected measures prove that the Rust language has average complexity and maintainability compared to a set of popular languages. It is more easily maintainable and less complex than the C and C++ languages, which can be considered syntactically similar. These results, paired with the memory safety and safe concurrency characteristics of the language, can encourage wider adoption of the language of Rust in substitution of the C language in both the open-source and industrial environments.

Otitis media (OM) is the infection and inflammation of the mucous membrane covering the Eustachian with the airy cavities of the middle ear and temporal bone. OM is also one of the most common ailments. In clinical practice, the diagnosis of OM is carried out by visual inspection of otoscope images. This vulnerable process is subjective and error-prone.

In this study, a novel computer-aided decision support model based on the convolutional neural network (CNN) has been developed. To improve the generalized ability of the proposed model, a combination of the channel and spatial model (CBAM), residual blocks, and hypercolumn technique is embedded into the proposed model. All experiments were performed on an open-access tympanic membrane dataset that consists of 956 otoscopes images collected into five classes.

The proposed model yielded satisfactory classification achievement. The model ensured an overall accuracy of 98.26%, sensitivity of 97.68%, and specificity of 99.30%. The proposed model produced rates. In cryptosystems and cryptographic modules, insufficient entropy of the noise sources that serve as the input into random number generator (RNG) may cause serious damage, such as compromising private keys. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the entropy of the noise source as precisely as possible. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) published a standard document known as Special Publication (SP) 800-90B, which describes the method for estimating the entropy of the noise source that is the input into an RNG. The NIST offers two programs for running the entropy estimation process of SP 800-90B, which are written in Python and C++. The running time for estimating the entropy is more than one hour for each noise source. An RNG tends to use several noise sources in each operating system supported, and the noise sources are affected by the environment. Therefore, the NIST program should be run several times to analyze the security of RNG. The NIST estimation runtimes are a burden for developers as well as evaluators working for the Cryptographic Module Validation Program. In this study, we propose a GPU-based parallel implementation of the most time-consuming part of the entropy estimation, namely the independent and identically distributed (IID) assumption testing process. To achieve maximal GPU performance, we propose a scalable method that adjusts the optimal size of the global memory allocations depending on GPU capability and balances the workload between streaming multiprocessors. Our GPU-based implementation excluded one statistical test, which is not suitable for GPU implementation. We propose a hybrid CPU/GPU implementation that consists of our GPU-based program and the excluded statistical test that runs using OpenMP. The experimental results demonstrate that our method is about 3 to 25 times faster than that of the NIST package.Smart surveillance systems are used to monitor specific areas, such as homes, buildings, and borders, and these systems can effectively detect any threats. Selleck MLN2480 In this work, we investigate the design of low-cost multiunit surveillance systems that can control numerous surveillance cameras to track multiple objects (i.e., people, cars, and guns) and promptly detect human activity in real time using low computational systems, such as compact or single board computers. Deep learning techniques are employed to detect certain objects to surveil homes/buildings and recognize suspicious and vital events to ensure that the system can alarm officers of relevant events, such as stranger intrusions, the presence of guns, suspicious movements, and identified fugitives. The proposed model is tested on two computational systems, specifically, a single board computer (Raspberry Pi) with the Raspbian OS and a compact computer (Intel NUC) with the Windows OS. In both systems, we employ components, such as a camera to stream real-en in the case of low accuracy, recognition and threat identification are performed with an accuracy of 100% in approximately 0.7 s, even when using computer systems with relatively weak hardware specifications, such as a single board computer (Raspberry Pi). These results prove that the proposed system can be practically used to design a low-cost and intelligent security and tracking system. It is expected that most accidents occurring due to human mistakes will be eliminated by autonomous vehicles. Their control is based on real-time data obtained from the various sensors, processed by sophisticated algorithms and the operation of actuators. However, it is worth noting that this process flow cannot handle unexpected accident situations like a child running out in front of the vehicle or an unexpectedly slippery road surface. A comprehensive analysis of historical accident data can help to forecast these situations. For example, it is possible to localize areas of the public road network, where the number of accidents related to careless pedestrians or bad road surface conditions is significantly higher than expected. This information can help the control of the autonomous vehicle to prepare for dangerous situations long before the real-time sensors provide any related information. This manuscript presents a data-mining method working on the already existing road accident database records to find the black spots of the road network. As a next step, a further statistical approach is used to find the significant risk factors of these zones, which result can be built into the controlling strategy of self-driven cars to prepare them for these situations to decrease the probability of the potential further incidents. The evaluation part of this paper shows that the robustness of the proposed method is similar to the already existing black spot searching algorithms. However, it provides additional information about the main accident patterns.Classifiers are often tested on relatively small data sets, which should lead to uncertain performance metrics. Nevertheless, these metrics are usually taken at face value. We present an approach to quantify the uncertainty of classification performance metrics, based on a probability model of the confusion matrix. Application of our approach to classifiers from the scientific literature and a classification competition shows that uncertainties can be surprisingly large and limit performance evaluation. In fact, some published classifiers may be misleading. The application of our approach is simple and requires only the confusion matrix. It is agnostic of the underlying classifier. Our method can also be used for the estimation of sample sizes that achieve a desired precision of a performance metric.
