These effects were similar to S/V. However, dapa showed a greater efficacy than S/V in reducing the left ventricular end-diastolic volumes, lowing the heart rates and VAs, and decreasing the body weights and plasma glucose levels. The mechanisms by which dapa exerts protective effects on cardiomyopathy may be related to its indirect antioxidant capacity and direct hypoglycemic action.
This study was designed to determine the effects of care bundles on patients with severe pneumonia complicated with respiratory failure and to discuss the adverse reaction rate in prognosis.
A total of 64 patients with both severe pneumonia and respiratory failure admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of our hospital from January 2019 to December 2020 were enrolled as research objects. These patients were equally divided into a control group and an experimental group in a random manner. The experimental group was given care bundles, while the control group was given conventional nursing. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/ABT-888.html Then the nursing effect, adverse reactions, and nursing satisfaction of the two groups were compared and analyzed.
The experimental group experienced shorter mechanical ventilation time and hospital stay than the control group. After nursing, both groups got apparent improvements on the levels of partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO
), partial pressure of oxygen (PaO
), and oxygen saturation, with better improrelated diseases, and better prognostic recovery effect.
This study aimed to explore the application value of epidural and general anesthesia in total knee arthroplasty (TKA).
We first retrospectively analyzed 156 patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty in our hospital from January 2019 to January 2020 as subjects. The control group (CG) included 86 subject who were treated with general anesthesia. The remaining 70 subjects with epidural anesthesia were divided to a research group (RG). The recovery and adverse reactions after surgery were compared. The coagulation function before and after surgery was analyzed. The incidence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after surgery was observed. The expression of inflammatory factors and the improvement of cognitive function were assessed before surgery, followed by 6 and 12 h after surgery. The pain degree of patients was compared at 6 and 12 h after surgery.
Compared with the CG, the recovery condition after surgery in the RG were dramatically lower, the concentrations of PLT, PT, and APTT in the RG were higher, while FBG was markedly lower. The incidence of postoperative venous thrombosis in the RG was lower. The TNF-α, IL-6 levels, and VAS scores in the RG were remarkably lower at 6 and 12 h after surgery. MMSE score was significantly higher than CG score. The total incidence of adverse reactions in the RG was markedly lower.
Epidural anesthesia can improve blood coagulation and cognitive function in patients undergoing TKA and reduce the incidence of DVT and the degree of postoperative pain.

Although they do not encode proteins, lncRNAs can regulate gene expression at the transcriptional, post-transcriptional, and epigenetic levels. Emerging data show that lncRNAs are important for tumorigenesis and cancer progression. Cancer susceptibility candidate 11 (CASC11) is a prominent lncRNA that is upregulated in various types of cancers. Moreover, its overexpression correlates with larger tumor size, more advanced cancer stages, cancer metastasis, and poor overall survival for most types of cancer. Functionally, the knockdown of CASC11 can inhibit cell proliferation, invasion, and migration, while enhancing apoptosis through its regulation of gene expression and signaling pathways and its interactions with functional proteins. Here, we discuss the identification, expression, and function of CASC11. Additionally, we discuss the potential roles of CASC11 as a diagnostic biomarker, prognostic biomarker, and therapeutic target in various cancers.
Osteoarthritis (OA) is common in the elderly. Baicalin (BA) is a flavonoid monomer extracted from
, which has been reported to have anti-inflammatory, anti-deformation and anti-bacterial effects.
Cultures of micromass and 3D alginate beads, Alcian blue and Safranin O (SO)/fast green staining were used to investigate chondrocyte viability and extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis in chondrocytes of all groups. The expression of SOX9, Smad3, Aggrecan (ACAN), type II collagen (Col2α), matrix metallopetidase 9 (MMP9), MMP13 and ADAMTS5 in chondrocytes of all groups were detected by western blot or qRT-PCR.
The present study demonstrates that BA neutralized the IL-1β-induced downregulation of chondrocyte viability and ECM secretion, including ACAN and Col2α. The downregulation of SOX9, and the upregulation of MMP9, MMP13 and ADAMTS5 induced by IL-1β were reversed by BA treatment. Moreover, BA increased the nuclear translocation of Smad3 and SOX9 in chondrocytes cultured by micromass and 3D alginate beads. Interestingly, Smad3 inhibitor SIS3 reversed the promoting effect of BA on chondrocyte viability, ECM secretion, SOX9 and Smad3 nuclear translocation, and the inhibiting effect of BA on MMP9 and ADAMTS5 expressions. BA treatment also attenuated the decrease of Smad3 phosphorylation, SOX9 expression and the damage of cartilage integrity in mice which were induced by destabilization of the medial meniscus (DMM).
BA promotes chondrocyte viability and the cell matrix synthesis through TGF-β/Smad3 pathway in IL-1β-treated chondrocytes and DMM treated mice. BA is a potential therapeutic target for OA.

This study aimed to evaluate the biologic role of growth arrest-specific 5 (GAS5) in radiosensitivity of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
The levels of GAS5, miR-144-5p, and activating transcription factor 2 (ATF2) were quantified in HCC tissues and cell lines. RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) and RNA pull-down assays were used to test the interaction between GAS5 and miR-144-5p. The regulatory relationship between miR-144-5p and ATF2 was identified by the dual-luciferase reporter (DLR) assay. A nude mouse model of HCC was induced to verify the effect of GAS5 on radiosensitivity of HCC
.
Lower levels of GAS5 and ATF2, and higher levels of miR-144-5p, were found in radiation-resistant human HCC tissues and cell lines. Overexpression of ATF2 or GAS5 enhanced the radiosensitivity of HCC cell lines, while knockdown of ATF2 or GAS5 decreased the radiosensitivity. In addition, GAS5 acted as a miR-144-5p sponge, and miR-144-5p inversely regulated ATF2. Also, GAS5 mediated ATF2 levels through miR-144-5p, and increased the radiosensitivity of HCC by suppressing miR-144-5p both
and
.
Overexpression of GAS5 upregulates ATF2 through miR-144-5p and is able to enhance the radiosensitivity of HCC.

Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a common disease, with a conventional treatment method, as well as well-established surgical procedure, when necessary. However, some rare cases of LDH, such as intradural disc herniation (IDH), accounting for a very small proportion (approximately 0.3%) of all LDH cases, could lead to intra-operation or post-operation complications, which requires a more circumspect pre-operational radiology analysis and overall management. Herein, we reported a case with L3-L4 IDH identified by pathological examination. Recent studies on PubMed were reviewed to summarize the unique characteristics of IDH, as well as diagnosis and treatments. Case introduction A 69-year-old male was admitted to our department due to complaints of chronic low back pain for the past one month, along with radiating pain along the left lower hip and posterolateral left lower extremity. Disk herniation and space-occupying mass inside the canal at the L3-L4 level were confirmed by both lumbar CT and MRI. In surgerors. Adhesion between dura mater and posterior longitudinal ligament may play a critical role in the disease onset.
This study was designed to analyze the value of 24 h dynamic electrocardiography (DCG) examination in the diagnosis of pulmonary heart disease (PHD).
Ninety cases of patients with PHD were included as the observation group, and 50 cases of healthy patients were enrolled as the healthy group. Both groups received DCG examination.
The proportion of ST depression and elevation as well as the magnitude and duration of ST depression differed significantly between the observation and healthy group (
< 0.05), and the magnitude of ST elevation in patients of the observation group with decompensated heart failure was greater than that of patients with compensated cardiac function and the healthy group (
< 0.05). The incidence rates of sinus bradycardia (SB), ventricular premature beats (VPB), paroxysmal ventricular tachycardia (PVT), and ventricular fibrillation (VF) in patients in the observation group with decompensated heart failure were higher than those of patients with compensated cardiac function and the healthy group (
< 0.05). The differences in standard deviation of the NN (R-R) intervals (SDNN) and standard deviation of average NN intervals (SDANN) between the three groups were significant, and the root mean square of successive RR intervals (RMSSD) of patients in the observation group with decompensated heart failure were lower than those of the healthy group (
< 0.05). The differences in deceleration capacity (DC), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), and heart rate variability (HRV) between the three groups were significant (
< 0.05).
The results obtained by DCG examination can help clinical assessment of cardiac function in the decompensated or compensated stage, which can assist in judging the condition of PHD and guide clinical treatment.

There is no information about the genetic profile of CYP2J2 in the Chinese Uyghur population. We used PCR and first-generation sequencing technology to investigate CYP2J2 mutations in 100 unrelated healthy Chinese Uyghurs. The chi-square test was used to compare genotyping data of CYP2J2 in the Chinese Uyghur population with other ethnic groups. The SIFT and PolyPhen-2 online tools were used to predict the protein function of the novel nonsynonymous mutations in CYP2J2. CADD software was used to predict pathogenicity of the mutations. We found twenty-eight mutations in CYP2J2, five new mutations, three alleles (*1, *7 and *8), and three genotypes (*1/*1, *1/*7 and *1/*8) in the Chinese Uyghur population. The allele frequencies of CYP2J2 *1, *7 and *8 were 96%, 3.45%, and 0.5%, respectively. Interethnic comparison found that subgenotype *1 in Uyghur was significantly higher than in Taiwanese and African Americans, and *7 frequency in Uyghur was slightly lower than that in Taiwanese and African Americans (P less then 0.
