Similar patterns have also been observed among normal weight adolescents with overweight perceptions (e.g., normal weight adolescents with overweight perceptions are associated with poorer self-rated health (b = -.541, p < .01 for boys; b = -.447, p < .001 for girls)).

Normal weight adolescents are not immune to adverse self-rated health, mental health, and life satisfaction because their weight perceptions are also a contributing factor to health and well-being consequences.

The aim of the current study was to evaluate the index of Cardiac Electrophysiological Balance (iCEB) in hospitalized COVID-19 patients receiving Hydroxychloroquine / azithromycin (HCQ / AZ) combination therapy to determine the susceptibility to ventricular arrhythmia among these patients.

Sixty-seven COVID-19 patients admitted to the ward were included in the study. Electrocardiograms (ECGs) were obtained from all patients before the initiation of treatment and on treatment day 5. QT/QRS (iCEB) and QTc/QRS (iCEBc) ratios were calculated.

QRS, QT and QTc intervals were significantly prolonged on day 5 measurements compared to pre-treatment period (p <0.05). Overall, mean iCEB was 3.6±0.4 before treatment and 3.8±0.4 on day 5 in the study population (p <0.001). Considering the iCEBc values, a significant increase was observed in patients receiving HCQ/AZ treatment compared to pre-treatment period (4.1±0.5 vs 4.4±0.6; p <0.001).

To the best of our knowledge, this was the first study to investigate iCEB and iCEBc parameters in patients with COVID-19 on HCQ/AZ therapy. In this study, we demonstrated significantly increased iCEB and iCEBc values following HCQ/AZ treatment in COVID-19 patients. iCEB and iCEBc may serve as a noninvasive, simple, and novel biomarker for detecting increased pro-arrhythmia risk in COVID-19 patients (Tab. 3, Fig. 3, Ref. 36).

The occurrence of symptomatic spinal epidural hematoma after spine surgery is arare, but serious major complication whose incidence usually requires urgent surgical intervention. read more Obesity is currently considered to be one of the most common metabolic diseases.

Prospective analysis of patients who underwent surgical treatment of degenerative lumbar spine disease from January 2016 to February 2018 with one-year follow-up. All patients underwent decompression of spinal cord and nerve roots. This study was conducted to determine an association between the incidence of spinal epidural hematoma (SEDH) requiring surgical treatment and obesity/body mass index (BMI).

In our study, data from 371 patients were assessed. SEDH requiring surgical intervention occurred totally in seven patients (1.89 %). An average BMI in patients with presence of SEDH was 30.67 kg/m2. Our work showed a statistically significant difference between BMI in patients with SEDH compared to patients without SEDH (p = 0.0044). This study also showed a significant difference in incidence of symptomatic SEDH in obese patients compared to non-obese patients (p=0.0158).

In our study, we found out that obesity is a significant risk factor for the incidence of postoperative SEDH after degenerative lumbar spine surgery (Tab. 1, Fig. 2, Ref. 18).

It was aimed to demonstrate the applicability of the prone position with high-flow oxygen to COVID-19 patients with severe respiratory failure in the service in September when the number of cases and the need for intensive care were increased.

The prone position was applied for a minimum of 30-minute periods for at least four hours a day. The patients' oxygen saturation levels and respiration rates were monitored before and 30 minutes after prone positioning.

Ten patients, nine males (9/1, M/F), were included in the study. Mean oxygen saturation at baseline was 75.8±12.14 (min 50 %; max 90 %) and all patients had high oxygen demand. The oxygen saturation of the patients differed significantly before and after (83.4±6.38 %; 90±5.31 %, p <0.001) prone positioning. Similarly, respiration rates differed significantly before and after (23.9±6; 21.4±4.97, p <0.001) prone positioning. Two patients died during treatment.

This study highlights the promise of prone positioning performed in ward conditions for improving oxygenation in COVID-19. While the study contains a small group, it may provide guidance for the clinical management of COVID-19 patients to prevent the need for intensive care in the challenging course of therapy (Tab. 2, Fig. 2, Ref. 15).

Low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) may provide beneficial effects on outcomes of COVID-19. We aimed to examine the impact of LMWH treatment on clinical outcomes (duration of hospitalization, admission to intensive care unit, the requirement for mechanical ventilation, and death) of COVID-19 patients with normal D-dimer levels at admission.

Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) predisposes patients to arterial and venous thrombosis.

In this retrospective, multicentre and observational study we analysed the data of 308 confirmed COVID-19 patients with normal D-dimer levels at initial admission. After propensity score matching (PSM) patients were grouped; Group 1; patients who received LMWH with D-dimer ≤0.5 mg/L, Group 2; patients who received LMWH after D-dimer levels exceeded 0.5 mg/L, and Group 3; patients who did not receive LMWH.

After PSM, each group comprised 40 patients. The patients in Group1 had the best clinical outcomes compared to the other groups. Group 3 had the worst clinical outcomes (p<0.
