Individuals with persistent pain-related disability have lower self-efficacy, which impacts daily function and health.

To explore self-efficacy among individuals with persistent pain who were part of a dyad (caregiver and care-recipient) who completed the Merging Yoga and self-management Skills intervention (MY-Skills).

Participants completed MY-Skills, an 8-week group, dyadic-based self-management and yoga program. Self-efficacy outcomes were collected using the Chronic Pain Self-Efficacy Scale; PROMIS® Self-Efficacy for Managing Daily Activities; and PROMIS® Self-Efficacy for Managing Symptoms.

Eight participants completed the study (50.23±14.77 years old, 77% female, (69%) with pain >10 years). Self-efficacy improved across all measures and domains, with significant improvement for physical function self-efficacy (38.97±19.45 vs. 59.10±18.60, p=.004).

MY-Skills improved self-efficacy to varying degrees, which may contribute to participants' confidence in performing activities. Further research is needed to examine dyadic outcomes among caregivers and care-recipients.

Fractional carbon dioxide (CO2) laser has been considered to be an add-on to conventional treatments of vitiligo.

This study aimed to evaluate the optimal energy and density of the fractional CO2 laser system in stable non-segmental vitiligo (NSV) patients.

48 patients were treated with fractional CO2 laser and sequential phototherapies of narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB), after the CO2 laser treatment, a compound betamethasone solution was topically applied. For the fractional CO2 laser, coverages of 8% and 12.6% were set as low density (Ld) and high density (Hd), and energies of 60mJ and 80mJ were set as low energy (Le) and high energy (He), respectively. The patients were randomly assigned to Group A (HeHd), Group B (HeLd) or Group C (LeLd).

Either after 3 or 6 months of enrollment, the efficacy of Group C was better than Group B (p<0.05). No difference was seen between Group A and Group B or Group A and Group C (p>0.05). More patients complained higher pain score in Group A as compared with Group C (p<0.05).

The current study proposed the development and preliminary validation of a humanized training approach for upper limb rehabilitation of chronic post-stroke individuals, using serious game (SG) and virtual reality (VR) technologies.

Ten individuals with chronic stroke participated in the study. Accompanied by a health professional, 15 sessions of the SG were performed in a laboratory, in a humanized way, lasting between 30 and 45min each. The assessments were made pre- and post-intervention with the SG, and the following parameters were evaluated (considering the elbow joint) Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS), range of movement (ROM) and tonic stretch reflex threshold (TSRT). Global measures such as quality of life (QOL) were also assessed by the Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale (SSQL), Brunnstrom Recovery Scale (BRS) and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28). This study aimed to investigate changes in procalcitonin (PCT), acute phase proteins (APPs), and cytokines (CYTs) in response to interdigital dermatitis and footrot in sheep under field conditions, to emphasize their role in the disease pathogenesis, diagnosis, as well as monitoring treatment response. Fifty-three sheep with foot diseases (26 clinical cases with interdigital dermatitis and 27 clinical cases with footrot) and 20 clinically healthy naemi sheep were used in this study. Real time PCR for detection of Fusobacterium necrophorum (F. necrophorum) and Dichelobacter nodosus (D. nodosus) revealed that, all samples collected from lame sheep (N = 53) were positive for D. nodosus (100 %), whereas F. necrophorum was detected in 19 out of 53 samples (35.84 %). The virulent D. nodosus was detected in 48 lameness cases where non-virulent D. nodosus were identified in 5 cases (in concurrent with F.markers for interdigital dermatitis and footrot. However, PCT only has the ability to differentiate sheep with different lameness score.

International research collaborations in nurse are increasing. However, collaborations in international nurse education research are limited compared to clinical nurse studies. This paper presents the experiences of seven investigators of a multi-country study while conducting collaborative research among nurse students across five continents.

This paper aims to describe the experiences and challenges of conducting an international nurse education research and to propose recommendations to enhance these collaborative research experiences.

Narrative perspectives from nurse educators on the international nurse collaborative experience were described in this discussion paper.

International collaboration in nurse education research was a positive and enriching experience. While several challenges were experienced by the collaborators, the presence of facilitating factors, benefits of collaboration, and opportunities for personal and professional growth and development outweighed the challenges. Team leader attributes, active engagement, commitment, genuine interest, and cultural sensitivity are essential in creating a successful international nurse research project.

To evaluate how an education program on evidence-based practice (EBP) affected nurses´ knowledge, practices, and attitudes related to EBPs in patient care.

Nurses of one Finnish university hospital participated in two separate EBP education programs in 2016-2017 and 2018-2019. Data was collected by a questionnaire given before and after each program. Reliable instruments for measuring EBP were used The Evidence-Based Practice Questionnaire (24 items) and the Attitudes to Evidence-Based Practice Questionnaire (17 items). Means and frequencies were evaluated with the Mann-Whitney U test and linear regression.

Nurses reported that their EBP practice, skills and the Work based on EBPs improved substantially after the education program. We found that scores on the Work based on EBPs and the attitudes towards EBP could predict the nurses' overall self-evaluations of practices, attitudes, and skills.

EBP education affects positively on implementation of nurses' practices and skills. There is still a need to change attitudes towards evidence based practice. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE, RESEARCH, POLICY, MANAGEMENT, AND EDUCATION Organizations need to maintain and develop efficient, attractive EBP educational programs to promote lifelong learning.

THz medical imaging mainly benefits from great sensitivity in detecting changes in water content and structural variations in diseased cells versus normal tissues. Compared to healthy tissues, cancerous tumors contain a higher level of water molecules and show structural changes, resulting in different THz absorption. Here we described the principle of THz imaging and advancement in the field of translational biomedicine and early detection of pathologic tissue, with a particular focus on oncology. In addition, although the main forte of THz imaging relies on detecting differences in water content to distinguish the exact margin of tumor, THz displays limited contrast in living tissue for in-vivo clinical imaging. In the last few years, nanotechnology has attracted attention to aid THz medical imaging and various nanoparticles have been investigated as contrast enhancements to improve the accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of THz images.
