a substantial impact on OHRQoL among Hungarian children and adolescents with CLP. Age, gender, cleft type and dental caries were associated with poor OHRQoL.Posaconazole is typically used for preventing invasive yeast and mold infections such as invasive aspergillosis in high-risk immunocompromised patients. The oral suspension was the first released formulation and many pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies of this formulation have been published. Erratic absorption profiles associated with this formulation were widely reported. Posaconazole exposure was found to be significantly influenced by food and many gastrointestinal conditions, including pH and motility. As a result, low posaconazole plasma concentrations were obtained in large groups of patients. These issues of erratic absorption urged the development of the subsequently marketed delayed-release tablet, which proved to be associated with higher and more stable exposure profiles. Shortly thereafter, an intravenous formulation was released for patients who are not able to take oral formulations. Both new formulations require a loading dose on day 1 to achieve high posaconazole concentrations more quickly, which was not possible with the oral suspension. So far, there appears to be no evidence of increased toxicity correlated to the higher posaconazole exposure achieved with the regimen for these formulations. The higher systemic availability of posaconazole for the delayed-release tablet and intravenous formulation have resulted in these two formulations being preferable for both prophylaxis and treatment of invasive fungal disease. This review aimed to integrate the current knowledge on posaconazole pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, major toxicity, existing resistance, clinical experience in special populations, and new therapeutic strategies in order to get a clear understanding of the clinical use of this drug.An Online First version of this article was made available online.Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune condition that affects up to 2% of the general population. Currently available treatment options for AA are of limited efficacy and can be associated with adverse effects. The advancement in understanding of the genetic and molecular mechanisms of AA has led to the development of novel treatment options, with the Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor class of drugs at the forefront of ongoing clinical trials. Platelet-rich plasma, fecal transplants, and cytokine-targeted therapy with ustekinumab and dupilumab have also been shown to regrow hair in patients with AA in individual case reports or small studies. Several other novel therapies have preliminary data or are being tested in clinical trials. This study aimed to investigate the postnatal morphological features of rabbit's lingual gustatory papillae using histological, histochemical, morphometrical and scanning electron microscopical studies. A total of 48 New Zealand rabbits (1, 7, 15, 23, 30, 60 days postnatal) were used as the material. Tongue consisted of an apex, body and root with three types of gustatory papillae fungiform, vallate and foliate. Rounded to oval fungiform papillae were distributed on lingual apex among filiform papillae. Two foliate papillae on lateroposterior side have parallel folia increased progressively in number (14-20) with age advancement. Two oval vallate papillae on lingual root surrounded by annular grooves. Histologically, the gustatory papillary epithelium was thin at birth then increased in stratification and cornification from third to fourth week. Vallate and foliate grooves were shallow in newborns then grew deeply by desquamation of their lining epithelium which completely opened and connected with lingual excretory ducts at 23 days. Developing serous von Ebner's glands appeared at 23 days and became lobulated form 1-2 months. They gave a negative reaction with Periodic Acid Schiff-Alcian blue stain, while mucous Weber's glands showed Alcian blue positive reaction. Taste buds were firstly seen at 15 days old, increased in number and size and became mature with taste pores from third to fourth week. They distributed dorsally on fungiform and on lateral sides of vallate and foliate. This structural adaptation and maturity of gustatory papillae to meet the functional demands of food ingestion during the transition from suckling to dry matter feeding.Studying comorbidities in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) provides a better understanding of the extended burden of the disease. Depression and anxiety are well recognized but understudied comorbidities in patients with PsA. The prevalence of depression is significantly higher in this patient population than in the general population, with far reaching consequences in terms of long-term quality of life. Over the past few years there has been an increasing interest in the link between inflammation and depression, with several novel studies being conducted. Recent evidence suggests a significant improvement of depression in PsA patients treated with biologic disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) as compared to conventional DMARDs. Depression in PsA is multidimensional, with recognized phenotypes, including cognitive disorder, alexithymia and anhedonia. The paucity of standardized, validated tools to screen these dimensional phenotypes remains an unmet need. Prevalence studies on depression inssive disorders and is thought to play an important role in depression ocurring in these patients. learn more Recent research in the field has revealed that different dimensions of depression, such as the inability to feel pleasure, loss of intellectual functions and difficulty identifying and expressing emotions, may contribute to the overall disease. It is important to screen for these dimensions while assessing PsA patients with depression. Most of the studies conducted to date have based the diagnosis of depression on self-reported questionnaires. In this article we describe the relation between inflammation and different dimensions of depression in patients with PsA and set out a feasible screening method for depression. A good understanding of depression in patients with PsA will be useful in designing treatment strategies.
