Bournonite CuPbSbS3 is a naturally occurring sulfosalt mineral that crystallizes in the noncentrosymmetric Pmn21 space group and possesses an optimal band gap for single junction solar cells; however, the synthetic literature on this quaternary semiconductor is sparse and it has yet to be deposited and studied as a thin film. Here we describe the ability of a binary thiol-amine solvent mixture to dissolve the bulk bournonite mineral as well as inexpensive bulk CuO, PbO, and Sb2S3 precursors at room temperature and ambient pressure to generate an ink. The synthetic compound ink derived from the dissolution of the bulk binary precursors in the right stoichiometric ratios yields phase-pure thin films of CuPbSbS3 upon solution deposition and annealing. The resulting semiconductor thin films possess a direct optical band gap of 1.24 eV, an absorption coefficient ∼105 cm-1 through the visible, mobilities of 0.01-2.4 cm2 (V·s)-1, and carrier concentrations of 1018 - 1020 cm-3. These favorable optoelectronic properties suggest CuPbSbS3 thin films are excellent candidates for solar absorbers.Increasing evidence demonstrates that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play important regulatory roles in mediating initiation and progression of lung adenocarcinoma (LA), which is one of the most lethal in humans. A previous study reported that lncRNAZXF1 was dysregulated in LA and enhanced expression of ZXF1 promoted the invasion and metastasis in LA. However, the effect of ZXF1 on LA progression and its underlying mechanisms were not thoroughly investigated. In our in vitro experiments, qRT-PCR revealed that the expression level of ZXF1 in LA tissues and tumor cells were significantly higher than that in adjacent normal tissues and normal cells. Furthermore, bioinformatics analysis, luciferase reporter assay, western blot and RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) assay showed that ZXF1 could directly interact with miR-634, which targets GRB2. Therefore, we propose that ZXF1 could function as an oncogene partly by sponging miR-634 and therefore regulating GRB2 expression in LA. Overall, this study demonstrated, for the first time, that the lncRNA ZXF1/miR-634/GRB2 axis plays crucial roles in modulating LA progression. Moreover, lncRNA ZXF1 might potentially improve LA prognosis and serve as a therapeutic target for the treatment of LA.Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 3 (VEGFR-3) is a very important factor which promotes lymphangiogenesis not only in physiological but also in pathological processes in which we can include neoplasia. The aim of this study was to analyze the plasma concentrations and diagnostic utility of this parameter in comparison and in combination with CA 15-3 in breast cancer (BC) patients and in relation to the control groups. The study included 120 breast cancer and 60 control patients (28 with benign breast tumors and 32 healthy women). Plasma levels of VEGFR-3 were determined by an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), and those of CA 15-3 by a Chemiluminescent Microparticle Immuno Assay (CMIA). Differences in concentrations of both of the tested parameters were statistically significant when breast cancer patients were compared to the control groups. VEGFR-3 had higher values of sensitivity (SE), specificity (SP), predictive value of a positive (PPV) and negative test result (NPV) in the whole BC group (90%; 98.33%; 99.08%; 83.10%, respectively) and, more importantly, in the early stages of BC, than CA 15-3. VEGFR-3 was also a better parameter in terms of statistically significant Area Under Curve (0.9656) in the whole group and at all BC stages (I-IV), but a maximum range was obtained for the combination of VEGFR-3 and CA 15-3 (0.9710). The combined analysis of VEGFR-3 and CA 15-3 provides hope that a new BC diagnostic panel may be developed in the future.OBJECTIVE There is limited information on the longitudinal disease course after first-onset postpartum psychosis (PP). DATA SOURCES A computerized literature search was conducted using Embase, MEDLINE, Web of Science, PsycINFO, Cochrane Central, PubMed, and Google Scholar (first 100 hits) combining key terms regarding longitudinal studies of first-onset PP from inception through May 9, 2019. Two levels of screening were used on 2,807 citations. STUDY SELECTION A total of 6 English-language articles including patients with a first-onset PP within 1 year after childbirth and a minimum follow-up period of 18 months or more after the index episode were included in the quantitative analysis. No effective pharmacologic treatment is available for both disorders to date. METHODS In a phase 2, double-blind study, patients with schizophrenia and AUD experiencing ≥ 10 drinking and ≥ 2 heavy-drinking days in the previous month and recent (≤ 6 mo) disease symptom exacerbation were recruited between June 2014 and March 2017. DSM-IV-TR and DSM-5 criteria were used to assign the diagnoses of schizophrenia and AUD, respectively. After a 6-week lead-in period, 234 eligible patients were randomized (11) to olanzapine + 10 mg samidorphan tablets (OLZ/SAM) or olanzapine + placebo tablets (olanzapine) for 36-60 weeks of treatment. The primary outcome of time to the first event of exacerbation of disease symptoms (EEDS) was evaluated using the log rank test for treatment comparison, and the Cox proportional-hazards model was used to estimate hazard ratio. Safety was assessed as adverse events and laboratory measures. RESULTS No significant difference was observed between groups in the time to first EEDS (hazard ratio = 0.91; 95% CI, 0.53-1.56; P = .746). Patients treated with OLZ/SAM vs olanzapine had numerically lower rates in 6 of 8 criteria to evaluate EEDS. Change from baseline in percentage of heavy-drinking days during the double-blind treatment period was similar in OLZ/SAM- vs olanzapine-treated patients. OLZ/SAM was generally well tolerated with a safety profile similar to olanzapine. CONCLUSIONS OLZ/SAM was not superior to olanzapine in the time to EEDS and was well tolerated in patients with schizophrenia and AUD. Further research is needed to identify effective treatments for this difficult-to-treat population. The presence of endocervical and metaplastic cells makes the smear more adequate for the detection of these abnormalities once these cell types are representative of the transformation zone, a site of increased susceptibility to viral infection. METHODS The purpose of this study was to evaluate the patterns of vaginal microbiota, the representation of endocervical and/or metaplastic cells, and the detection of cytological abnormalities in cervical smears from women 15 to 64 years old. Results from satisfactory cytological smears performed in a laboratory school from the Federal University of Goiás were analyzed. The degree of association between the categorical variables was evaluated by the χ2 test, Fisher's Exact test, and stratified analysis through the estimation of the prevalence ratio, with 95% confidence intervals and 5% statistical significance level (P less then  .05). RESULTS The global prevalence of BV and cytological abnormalities was 22.02% and 8.21%, respectively. BV and the representation of endocervical and/or metaplastic cells were independently associated with the detection of high-grade cytological abnormalities in the cervical smears of women between 25 and 64 years old. CONCLUSIONS BV and representation of endocervical and/or metaplastic cells were independently associated with the detection of high-grade cytological abnormalities reinforcing the importance of specimen adequacy and microbiota in the cervical microenvironment. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.AIMS The aim of this study is to use six previously described heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) phenotypes to describe differences in (i) the biological response to spironolactone, (ii) clinical endpoints, and (iii) patient-reported health status by HFpEF phenotype and treatment arm in the Treatment of Preserved Cardiac Function Heart Failure with an Aldosterone Antagonist Trial (TOPCAT). METHODS AND RESULTS We analysed 1767 patients in TOPCAT from the Americas. Using 11 clinical variables, patients were classified according to six HFpEF phenotypes previously identified in the I-PRESERVE and CHARM-Preserved studies. Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire (KCCQ) measured health status. All phenotypes showed increase in potassium with spironolactone, although only three phenotypes showed significant increase in creatinine, and two phenotypes showed significant decrease in systolic blood pressure. Recently, we have successfully converted human foreskin fibroblasts (HFFs) into functional Leydig-like cells (iLCs) in vitro by using the CRISPR/dCas9 system, which shows promising potential for seed cells. However, it is not known whether the reprogrammed iLCs can survive or restore serum testosterone levels in vivo. Therefore, in this study, we evaluate whether reprogrammed iLCs can restore the serum testosterone levels of castrated rats when they are transplanted into the fibrous capsule. We first developed the castrated Sprague Dawley rat model through bilateral orchiectomy and subsequently injected extracellular matrix gel containing transplanted cells into the fibrous capsule of castrated rats. Finally, we evaluated dynamic serum levels of testosterone and luteinizing hormone (LH) in castrated rats, the survival of implanted iLCs, and the expression levels of Leydig steroidogenic enzymes by immunofluorescence staining and Western blotting. Our results demonstrated that implanted iLCs could partially restore the serum testosterone level of castrated rats, weakly mimic the role of adult Leydig cells in the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis for a short period, and survive and secrete testosterone, through 6 weeks after transplantation. Therefore, this study may be valuable for treating male hypogonadism in the future. © 2020 The Authors.
