urgical morbidity. It confers good oncologic outcomes that mimic the response in other head and neck EBV-related lymphoepithelial carcinomas.

DNA methylation has emerged as an important epigenetic regulator of brain processes, including circadian rhythms. However, how DNA methylation intervenes between environmental signals, such as light entrainment, and the transcriptional and translational molecular mechanisms of the cellular clock is currently unknown. Here, we studied the after-hours mice, which have a point mutation in the Fbxl3 gene and a lengthened circadian period.

In this study, we used a combination of in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro approaches. We measured retinal responses in Afh animals and we have run reduced representation bisulphite sequencing (RRBS), pyrosequencing and gene expression analysis in a variety of brain tissues ex vivo. In vitro, we used primary neuronal cultures combined to micro electrode array (MEA) technology and gene expression.

We observed functional impairments in mutant neuronal networks, and a reduction in the retinal responses to light-dependent stimuli. We detected abnormalities in the expression of photndscape of circadian biology.

Inadequate copper intake and increased fructose consumption represent two important nutritional problems in the USA. Dietary copper-fructose interactions alter gut microbial activity and contribute to the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The aim of this study is to determine whether dietary copper-fructose interactions alter gut microbial activity in a sex-differential manner and whether sex differences in gut microbial activity are associated with sex differences in hepatic steatosis.

Male and female weanling Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were fed ad libitum with an AIN-93G purified rodent diet with defined copper content for 8 weeks. The copper content is 6 mg/kg and 1.5 mg/kg in adequate copper diet (CuA) and marginal copper diet (CuM), respectively. Animals had free access to either deionized water or deionized water containing 10% fructose (F) (w/v) as the only drink during the experiment. Body weight, calorie intake, plasma alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, andt not correlated to hepatic steatosis.

Our data demonstrated sex differences in the alterations of gut microbial abundance, activities, and hepatic steatosis in response to dietary copper-fructose interaction in rats. The correlation between sex differences in metabolic phenotypes and alterations of gut microbial activities remains elusive.

Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is a place to provide response to public health emergencies. CUDC-907 Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC)'s EOC was officially established in 2016, which has been the core department for the public health emergencies and risk response. In recent years, we have been continuously improving the function of EOC through many incidents. link2 In the study, we hope to share the construction status, operation management experience of China CDC's EOC and the response process in the human avian influenza A (H7N9) outbreak.

The China CDC's EOC mainly focus on building the five core elements including sites/places and facilities, information and data, plans and procedures, training and exercises, and logistics. Based on summarizing previous emergency response, the China CDC's EOC established its own incident management and the standardized response procedures. The event-specific data, context-specific data and event management data could be obtained through various source.e according to the complexity of incident response in the region when constructing response mechanism, through our experience. And the China CDC's EOC is still at growing and groping phase.

Cost-related nonadherence to medications (CRNA) is common in many countries and thought to be associated with adverse outcomes. The characteristics of CRNA in Canada, with its patchwork coverage of increasingly expensive medications, are unclear.

Our objective in this systematic review was to summarize the literature evaluating CRNA in Canada in three domains prevalence, predictors, and effect on clinical outcomes.

We searched MEDLINE, Embase, Google Scholar, and the Cochrane Library from 1992 to December 2019 using search terms covering medication adherence, costs, and Canada. Eligible studies, without restriction on design, had to have original data on at least one of the three domains specifically for Canadian participants. Articles were identified and reviewed in duplicate. Risk of bias was assessed using design-specific tools.

Twenty-six studies of varying quality (n = 483,065 Canadians) were eligible for inclusion. Sixteen studies reported on the overall prevalence of CRNA, with population-based estimates ranging from 5.1 to 10.2%. Factors predicting CRNA included high out-of-pocket spending, low income or financial flexibility, lack of drug insurance, younger age, and poorer health. A single randomized trial of free essential medications with free delivery in Ontario improved adherence but did not find any change in clinical outcomes at 1 year.

CRNA affects many Canadians. The estimated percentage depends on the sampling frame, the main predictors tend to be financial, and its association with clinical outcomes in Canada remains unproven.

Symptoms in multiple sclerosis (MS) can lead to different types and ranges of sexual dysfunction in MS patients. Studies in different parts of the world have reported a high range of sexual dysfunction in men with MS. This study aimed to estimate pooled prevalence of sexual dysfunction in men with MS.

The authors searched Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Magiran, SID, and Iran Medical Papers Database using the keywords "multiple sclerosis", "sexual dysfunctions", "men", "prevalence", and their synonyms systematically. Meta-analysis was performed using the random effects model with inverse variance-weighted method to estimate the overall prevalence of sexual dysfunction in men with MS. The protocol for this meta-analysis is available in PROSPERO (ID CRD42020199005).

A total of 351 documents were identified, and 20 articles published from 1996 to 2019 were analyzed. The articles used sample sizes from 9 to 101 individuals. However, two studies conducted online used 388 and 1568 samples. Prevalence of sexual dysfunction in all studies was reported from 31 to 92%, and the pooled prevalence of sexual dysfunction in men with MS in all studies was 62.9% with a 95% confidence interval 53 to 72.7% (heterogeneity I

= 96.3%, Q-statistic = 12.48, P value < 0.001). According to the results of Egger's test, there was publication bias in the current study (β = 4.55, Se = 1.38, P value = 0.004).

Sexual dysfunction is highly prevalent in men with MS. Diagnosing sexual dysfunction in MS patients in clinics by specialists have to be considered a necessity.

Mutual support groups are a popular treatment for substance use and other addictive behaviours. However, little is known about the cultural utility of these programmes for Indigenous peoples.

A three-round Delphi study, utilising Indigenous research yarning methods was conducted to (1) Obtain expert opinion regarding the cultural utility of an Indigenous SMART Recovery handbook; (2) Gain consensus on areas within the SMART Recovery programme that require cultural modification and; (3) Seek advice on how modifications could be implemented in future programme design and delivery. The panellists were 11 culturally, geographically, and professionally diverse Indigenous Australian health and wellbeing experts. A group consensus level of 80% was set prior to each survey round.

There was 100% participant retention across all three Delphi rounds. The panel reached consensus on five key programme modifications (composition of a separate facilitator and group member handbook; culturally appropriate language, termery and validation of mainstream mutual support programmes. Indigenous-led programme modifications could help improve accessibility and usefulness of mutual support groups for Indigenous peoples worldwide. This study is an example of how Indigenous research methods can be used alongside the Delphi technique. This approach demonstrated a way that Indigenous peoples from culturally and geographically diverse locations can participate in research anonymously, autonomously and without added burden on personal, community or professional obligations.

As one of the main functional forms of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), MSC-derived extracellular vesicles (MSC-EVs) have shown an alternative therapeutic option in experimental models of allergic asthma. Oxygen concentration plays an important role in the self-renewal, proliferation, and EV release of MSCs and a recent study found that the anti-asthma effect of MSCs was enhanced by culture in hypoxic conditions. link3 However, the potential of hypoxic MSC-derived EVs (Hypo-EVs) in asthma is still unknown.

BALB/c female mice were sensitized and challenged with ovalbumin (OVA), and each group received PBS, normoxic human umbilical cord MSC-EVs (Nor-EVs), or Hypo-EVs weekly. After treatment, the animals were euthanized, and their lungs and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were collected. With the use of hematoxylin and eosin (HE), periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) and Masson's trichrome staining, enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay (ELISA), Western blot analysis, and real-time PCR, the inflammation and collagen fiber cos and in TGF-β1-treated HLF-1. More importantly, decreased miR-146a-5p expression in Hypo-EVs impaired Hypo-EV-mediated lung protection in OVA mice.

Our findings provided the first evidence that hypoxic hUCMSC-derived EVs attenuated allergic airway inflammation and airway remodeling in chronic asthma mice, potentially creating new avenues for the treatment of asthma.

This report describes an outbreak of 71 patients developed B. cepacia urinary tract infection (UTI) by contaminated single-use anesthetic gel.

Epidemiological investigation of patients with B. cepacia-positive urine or blood samples between March 19, 2018 and Novemeber 15, 2018 was conducted to identify the source of infection. Microbiological samples from hospital surfaces, endoscopes, disposable items, and the hands of staff were tested for B. cepacia contamination. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) was used to compare homology in B. cepacia isolates.

During the outbreak, nosocomial B. cepacia UTI was confirmed in 71 patients. Epidemiological investigation showed that 66 patients underwent invasive urological diagnosis and treatment, while the remaining five patients underwent bedside indwelling catheterization, with all patients exposed to single-use anesthetic gel. All batches of anesthetic gel were recalled and the outbreak abated. Overall, 155 samples were collected from environmental surfaces and disposable items, and B.
