The triterpenoids isolated from the miracle fruit may be promising candidates for the development of cholesterol-lowering agent, especially for patients whose blood cholesterol level and body weight are high. Meanwhile, the miracle fruit have a good potential as cholesterol-lowering functional food or a natural source of cholesterol-lowering agent. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.Previous studies investigated bodily self-consciousness (BSC) by experimentally exposing subjects to multisensory conflicts (i.e., visuo-tactile, audio-tactile, visuo-cardiac) in virtual reality (VR) that involve the participant's torso in a paradigm known as the full-body illusion (FBI). Using a modified FBI paradigm, we found that synchrony of visuo-respiratory stimulation (i.e., a flashing outline surrounding an avatar in VR; the flash intensity depending on breathing), is also able to modulate BSC by increasing self-location and breathing agency toward the virtual body. Our aim was to investigate such visuo-respiratory effects and determine whether respiratory motor commands contributes to BSC, using non-invasive mechanical ventilation (i.e., machine-delivered breathing). Seventeen healthy participants took part in a visuo-respiratory FBI paradigm and performed the FBI during two breathing conditions (a) "active breathing" (i.e., participants actively initiate machine-delivered breaths) and (b) "passive bodicals, Inc. on behalf of Society for Psychophysiological Research. The aim of this study was to analyze the clinical data, discharge rate, and fatality rate of COVID-19 patients for clinical help. The clinical data of COVID-19 patients from December 2019 to February 2020 were retrieved from four databases. We statistically analyzed the clinical symptoms and laboratory results of COVID-19 patients and explained the discharge rate and fatality rate with a single-arm meta-analysis. The available data of 1994 patients in 10 literatures were included in our study. The main clinical symptoms of COVID-19 patients were fever (88.5%), cough (68.6%), myalgia or fatigue (35.8%), expectoration (28.2%), and dyspnea (21.9%). Minor symptoms include headache or dizziness (12.1%), diarrhea (4.8%), nausea and vomiting (3.9%). The results of the laboratory showed that the lymphocytopenia (64.5%), increase of C-reactive protein (44.3%), increase of lactic dehydrogenase (28.3%), and leukocytopenia (29.4%) were more common. The results of single-arm meta-analysis showed that the male took a larger percentage in the gender distribution of COVID-19 patients 60% (95% CI [0.54, 0.65]), the discharge rate of COVID-19 patients was 42% (95% CI [0.29, 0.55]), and the fatality rate was 5% (95% CI [0.01,0.11]). © 2020 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.Jasmonate synthesis and signalling are essential for plant defense upregulation upon herbivore or microbial attacks. Stress-induced accumulation of jasmonoyl-isoleucine (JA-Ile), the bioactive hormonal form triggering transcriptional changes, is dynamic and transient because of the existence of potent removal mechanisms. Two JA-Ile turnover pathways operate in Arabidopsis, consisting in cytochrome P450 (CYP94)-mediated oxidation and deconjugation by the amidohydrolases IAR3/ILL6. Understanding their impacts was previously blurred by gene redundancy and compensation mechanisms. Here we address the consequences of blocking these pathways on jasmonate homeostasis and defenses in double-2ah, triple-3cyp mutants, and a quintuple-5ko line deficient in all known JA-Ile-degrading activities. These lines reacted differently to either mechanical wounding/insect attack or fungal infection. Both pathways contributed additively to JA-Ile removal upon wounding, but their impairement had opposite impacts on insect larvae feeding. By contrast, only the ah pathway was essential for JA-Ile turnover upon infection by Botrytis, yet only 3cyp was more fungus-resistant. Despite building-up extreme JA-Ile levels, 5ko displayed near-wild-type resistance in both bioassays. Molecular analysis indicated that restrained JA-Ile catabolism resulted in enhanced defense/resistance only when genes encoding negative regulators were not simultaneously overstimulated. This occurred in discrete stress- and pathway-specific combinations, providing a framework for future defense-enhancing strategies. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 has become an important public health issue in the world. More than 118 000 cases were confirmed around the world. The main clinical manifestations were respiratory symptoms and occasional gastrointestinal symptoms. However, there is no unified standard for the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19. In the retrospective analysis, we report nine cases of COVID-19, describe the history of contact, clinical manifestations, the course of diagnosis and clinical treatment before, during and after treatment. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.The aim was to evaluate the incidence, clinical course and outcome of adenoviral infection (AdVI) in pediatric patients diagnosed and treated due to cancer and in pediatric recipients of hematopoietic stem cell. Over a 72-month period, all-in 5,599 children with cancer 2,441 patients with hematological malignancy (HM) and 3,158 with solid tumors (ST) and 971 patients after transplantation 741 after allogeneic (allo-HSCT) and 230 after autologous (auto-HSCT) were enrolled into the study. Among cancer patients, 67 episodes of AdVI appeared in 63 (1.1%) children, including 45 (1.8%) with HM and 18 (0.6%; p less then 0.001) with ST. Within transplanted patients, AdVIs were responsible for 88 episodes in 81 (8.3%) children (p less then 0.001), including 78 (10.5%) patients after allo-HSCT and 3 (1.3%) after auto-HSCT. Time to develop AdVI was short, especially after allo-HSCT. The most common clinical manifestation in cancer patients was enteritis diagnosed in 63 (94.0%) cases, while among HSCT recipient asymptomatic adenoviremia was found in 36 (40.9%) cases and the most common clinical manifestation was urinary tract infection. Cancer patients with disseminated disease, as well as HSCT recipients with either asymptomatic viremia or disseminated disease, received antiviral treatment. Hexadimethrine Bromide purchase The most commonly used first-line therapy was cidofovir. None of the cancer patients died due to adenoviral infection, while within HSCT recipients three patients developed disseminated adenoviral disease and died despite antiviral treatment. In cancer patients AdVIs are rare and associated with very good prognosis, even without specific treatment. However, in allo-HSCT recipients disseminated disease with fatal outcome is more likely to occur This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. This article is protected by copyright.
