Adrenal angiosarcoma is an extremely rare malignancy with few reported cases in the literature. Patients may be asymptomatic or have nonspecific complaints at presentation. There are no pathognomonic imaging findings, while histopathology can be confounding due to overlap with other disease processes. We present a case of a 38-year-old woman with a long history of cocaine abuse who had metastatic adrenal angiosarcoma at the time of presentation. The adrenal tumor was an incidental finding on imaging. CT demonstrated a heterogeneous mass in the right adrenal gland with central calcification, and MRI identified central necrosis in the mass. Histopathology demonstrated sheets of epithelioid cells, dilated anastomotic vascular spaces, and abundant necrosis, and immunohistochemistry was positive for various vascular markers. The findings were consistent with adrenal angiosarcoma. The patient underwent adrenalectomy and is now receiving adjuvant chemotherapy. Due to the aggressive nature of adrenal angiosarcoma, timely diagnosis and treatment is critical. This case adds to the sparse literature surrounding this disease by highlighting crucial imaging and histopathologic findings that will aid in more efficient diagnosis. Although rare, the disease should be considered in the context of suspicious adrenal lesions. In the future, structured review of all reported cases of adrenal angiosarcoma can help inform diagnosis and therapy for this rare disease. CT and MR imaging demonstrated bilateral asymmetrically severe hypoplasia of the internal auditory canals and vestibulocochlear nerves. Additional developmental inner ear anomalies were present in this patient, including unilateral semicircular canal hypoplasia and suspected bilateral cochlear hypoplasia. The patient retained normal facial nerve function bilaterally. We highlight the current research and understanding of congenital IAC abnormalities. © 2020 The Authors. In adults, these tumors most commonly occur in the fourth ventricle. In children, they are more commonly found in the lateral ventricles. When these lesions are discovered in the third ventricle, they are often posteriorly located. Hydrocephalus and macrocephaly are typical sentinel findings. We present 2 cases of this uncommon presentation of third ventricular choroid plexus papilloma. © 2020 The Authors. As an inorganic compound with high density, silver nitrate is very radiodense. We present a case of topical silver nitrate application on a fingertip laceration of a 32-year-old diabetic woman, which was misinterpreted as heterotopic ossification. The appearance of silver nitrate on radiographic studies is not widely known, which can lead to misdiagnosis, further unnecessary imaging, and inappropriate surgery. © 2020 The Authors. We present a case of a 49-year-old female who presented for evaluation of a palpable concern following trauma; which was found to represent synovial chondromatosis. This case demonstrates the multimodality imaging findings, including ultrasound and MRI, with histopathologic correlation. © 2020 The Authors. Patients with FAP have multiple extraintestinal manifestations that follow a genotype-phenotype pattern; however, few data exist characterizing their cognitive abilities. Given the role of the APC protein in development of the central nervous system, we hypothesized that patients with FAP would show differences in cognitive functioning compared to controls. Methods Matched case-control study designed to evaluate cognitive function using the Test of Nonverbal Intelligence-4, the Bateria III Woodcock-Munoz, and the Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Functions-Adult. Twenty-six individuals with FAP (mean age = 34.2 ± 15.0 years) and 25 age-gender and educational level matched controls (mean age = 32.7 ± 13.8 years) were evaluated. Results FAP-cases had significantly lower IQ (p = 0.005). Across all tasks of the Batería III Woodcock-Muñoz, FAP-cases performed significantly lower than controls, with all of the summary scores falling in the bottom quartile compared to controls (p  less then  0.0001). Patients with FAP scored within the deficient range for Long-Term Retrieval and Cognitive Fluency. Conclusion APC protein has an important role in neurocognitive function. The pervasive nature of the observed cognitive dysfunction suggests that loss or dysfunction of the APC protein impacts processes in cortical and subcortical brain regions. Additional studies examining larger ethnically diverse cohorts with FAP are warranted. © The Author(s). 2020.The study was designed to assess the change in flexural strength of unmodified heat cure denture base polymer resin on reinforcement with titanium dioxide nanoparticles in different concentrations. In vitro, randomized control trials reporting flexural strength of titanium dioxide nanoparticle reinforced resin were selected. The review was formulated based on Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses- Protocol (PRISMA-P) guidelines. Quality assessment was performed according to Consolidated Standards Of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) guidelines and risk of bias Cochrane tool. Six articles in the category of 1%, 3%, 5% weight fractions of titanium dioxide nanoparticles were subjected to a meta-analysis. A meta-analysis was performed using random-effects at a 95% confidence interval. read more Within the limitations of the study, it can be assumed that there is no precise conformity on the ideal titanium dioxide nanoparticle concentration required to improve the flexural strength of the polymer. Stringent use of standard ISO guidelines may help in obtaining consistent results.
