Three complications requiring radiological or surgical intervention were witnessed in the SIL group and one complication in the DIL group (

 = .42).

DIL surgery is a safe and feasible alternative to SIL surgery, facilitating key steps of distal pancreatic tail resection.

To investigate the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a driving simulator intervention on driving outcomes following acquired brain injury.

Pilot randomised controlled trial.

Occupational therapy driver assessment and rehabilitation service.

Individuals post-acquired brain injury aiming to return to driving.

Eight sessions of simulated driver training over four weeks, in addition to usual care. Control Usual care only.

Feasibility outcomes Participant recruitment and retention; data completeness; therapy attendance and fidelity; adverse events. Performance outcomes on-road driving performance; Simulator Sickness Questionnaire; Brain Injury Driving Self-Awareness Measure and Driving Comfort Scale - Daytime, assessed at baseline and five weeks post-randomisation.

Out of 523 individuals screened, 22 (4%) were recruited and randomised, with 20 completing their allocated group (

 = 12 Simulator,

 = 8 Usual Care). For those who completed training, session attendance was 100% with simulator sicuired brain injury.The identification of new viral drugs has become a task of paramount significance due to the frequent occurrence of viral infections and especially during the current pandemic. Despite the recent advancements, the development of antiviral drugs has not made parallel progress. Reduction of time frame and cost of the drug development process is the major advantage of drug repurposing. Therefore, in this study, a drug repurposing strategy using molecular modelling techniques, i.e. biological activity prediction, virtual screening, and molecular dynamics simulation was employed to find promising repurposing candidates for viral infectious diseases. The biological activities of non-redundant (4171) drug molecules were predicted using PASS analysis, and 1401 drug molecules were selected which showed antiviral activities in the analysis. These drug molecules were subjected to virtual screening against the selected non-structural viral proteins. A series of filters, i.e. top 10 drug molecules based on binding affinity, mean value of binding affinity, visual inspection of protein-drug complexes, and number of H-bond between protein and drug molecules were used to narrow down the drug molecules. Molecular dynamics simulation analysis was carried out to validate the intrinsic atomic interactions and binding conformations of protein-drug complexes. The binding free energies of drug molecules were assessed by employing MMPBSA analysis. Finally, nine drug molecules were prioritized, as promising repurposing candidates with the potential to inhibit the selected non-structural viral proteins.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Scientists are pushing their limits to formulate a vaccine against Covid-19 with the least side effects. Although the recent discoveries of vaccines have shown some relief from the covid infection rate, however, physical fatigue, mental abnormalities, inflammation and other multiple organ damages are arising as post-Covid symptoms. The long-term effects of these symptoms are massive. Patients with such symptoms are known as long-haulers and treatment strategy against this condition is still unknown. In this study, we tried to explore a strategy to deal with the post-Covid symptoms. We targeted three human proteins namely ACE2, Interleukin-6, Transmembrane serine protease and NRP1 which are already reported to be damaged via Covid-19 proteins and upregulated in the post-Covid stage. Our target plant in this study is Cannabis (popularly known as 'Ganja' in India). The molecular docking and simulation studies revealed that Cannabidiol (CBD) and Cannabivarin (CVN) obtained from Cannabis can bind to post-Covid symptoms related central nervous system (CNS) proteins and downregulate them which can be beneficial in post-covid symptoms treatment strategy. Thus we propose Cannabis as an important therapeutic plant against post-Covid symptoms.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

To investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of an online motivational interviewing training program for rehabilitation professionals.

Pre-post design with two groups.

Private rehabilitation hospital and an academic medical center.

Group 1 included 19 motivational interviewing-experienced rehabilitation professionals. Group 2 included 25 motivational interviewing-naïve rehabilitation professionals.

Group 1 was exposed to an online motivational training program and Group 2 was exposed to an online motivational training program and a live booster session.

Motivational interviewing communication skills were measured with an adapted Helpful Responses Questionnaire. Knowledge and attitudes were measured with an adapted Motivational Interviewing Knowledge and Attitudes Test. Avexitide research buy Confidence, importance, and feasibility for implementing motivational interviewing were measured using the Motivational Interviewing Rulers.

Group 1 showed improvement in communication skills (2.6/5-3.3/5;

 < 0.05) and confidence (6.0/01-7.4/10;

 < 0.01) after online training. Improvements seen in skills and confidence were maintained at three months. Group 2 showed improvement in skills (2.1/5-3.3/5;

 < 0.001), knowledge (7.7/10-8.5/10;

 < 0.01), confidence (6.4/10-7.5/10;

 < 0.01), and importance (8.3/10-8.9/10;

 < 0.05) after online training. At three-months post-booster, improvements in communication skills and knowledge were maintained.

Online training can be a cost and time effective approach to improve rehabilitation professionals' skills in motivational interviewing. Follow-up training activities are needed to maintain the level of knowledge and skill improvement.
