Our novel HSI device showed a high sensitivity in detecting malignant lesions in patients with Caucasian skin types. Compared with analogous technologies, as multispectral imaging or electrical impedance spectroscopy, our device showed similar or better accuracy in differentiating cMM from benign PSLs. Therefore, it might be a useful clinical tool in skin types I-IV and where further triage of pigmented skin lesions is important.

It is still a poorly known disease with symptoms that typically resemble those of food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES). To date, six more cases of DIES have been described and new clinical diagnostic criteria have been proposed based on those in the international guidelines for FPIES. In this paper, the authors describe three more cases of DIES. In addition, similarities and differences with FPIES have been deeply analyzed. To date, several unanswered questions need to be addressed, but clinicians must be instructed how to identify DIES, in order to make an allergy workup and give definite therapeutic indications to patients, especially in children where DIES seems to be more frequent.

The study was conducted to explore the relationship between mobile phone addiction, work procrastination, and burnout among newly graduated nurses.

A cross-sectional survey involving 220 newly graduated nurses in China was conducted from June to July 2020.

Approximately 60.9% of newly graduated nurses experienced occupational burnout; 72.7% of newly graduated nurses were characterized by moderate or greater procrastination and mobile phone addiction was at a moderate level. Mobile phone addiction and work procrastination were significant factors leading to emotional exhaustion and cynicism. Work procrastination was also an independent predictor of reduced professional efficacy.

Reducing the level of mobile phone addiction and work procrastination among newly graduated nurses might be effective for burnout prevention.

Due to suspicion of endocarditis, the patient underwent transthoracic echocardiogram which revealed an mass posterior to left atrium and descending aorta. A thoracic computed tomography revealed esophageal varices. Transesophageal echocardiogram was not performed. The patient has progressed favorably. The endometrial stromal sarcoma (EES) is a rare uterine malignancy and its intracardiac metastasis are exceedingly rare. We report a case of a 53-year-old female patient diagnosed with a metastatic tumor of a ESS in the right side of the heart, who underwent successful surgical resection and initiated chemotherapy with docetaxel and gemcitabine. At a 9-month follow-up, the patient was in New York Heart Association-Class I, without any further complications.

Contemporary epidemiological data on Bell's palsy are crucial to clarify disease burden and improve management strategies. We aimed to examine the epidemiology of, and factors associated with, Bell's palsy treated with steroids in Korea.

Using the National Health Insurance claims data from 2008 to 2018, we determined the incidence, recurrence rate, and management trends of Bell's palsy treated with steroids. We defined Bell's palsy cases based on diagnostic codes and concurrent treatment with steroids.

The incidence of Bell's palsy showed an increasing trend (from 23.0 per 100 000 persons in 2008 to 30.8 per 100 000 persons in 2018). Age (60-69 y), sex (men), and month (January) were risk factors of Bell's palsy. The recurrence rate of Bell's palsy over the 11-y period was 1.5%. Male sex (hazard ratio [HR], 1.1; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.0-1.2) and physiotherapy (HR, 0.9; 95% CI, 0.8-0.99) were independently associated with the recurrence of Bell's palsy. During the study period, the use of electrodiagnostic testing steadily increased, whereas that of physiotherapy steadily decreased, and antiviral therapy fluctuated,.

The incidence and recurrence rates presented in this study are comparable with those reported in earlier studies that included patients with Bell's palsy, regardless of the use of steroids, and documented an increase in the burden of Bell's palsy. Further randomized controlled trials are required to ascertain the long-term effects of physiotherapy on recurrent Bell's palsy.

This study was conducted to determine and explain the relationship between the loneliness perceptions and well-being of family caregivers of psychiatric patients.

This cross-sectional and descriptive study was conducted with the families of 141 individuals with mental illness, who were outpatients psychiatry clinic of a university hospital.

There was a statistically significant moderate relationship between loneliness levels and well-being subscales of the psychiatric patients' caregivers (p < 0.001).

Mental health nurses should carefully evaluate the perception of loneliness of family caregivers when diagnosing the family and determining needs.

Past research has found that young smokers are more likely to make quit attempts; however, there are conflicting findings regarding age and quit success. This study examined the degree to which smoker age is related to making quit attempts and quit success.

Ten waves of the International Tobacco Control Policy Cohort survey (ITC-4C) collected between 2002 and 2014, with nine wave-to-wave transitions with predictors at the first wave predicting quit attempts and success by the next wave.

Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Data from 15 874 smokers categorized into four age groups at baseline (18-24, 25-39, 40-54 and 55+years).

Age, quit attempts and success (defined as ≥30days abstinence confirmed, if possible, on a third wave for recent attempts).

Older smokers were more likely to smoke daily (χ

=1557.86, r=0.136, P<0.001) than younger smokers. Daily smokers were less likely to report quit attempts (38.1 versus 58.2%) and to achieve 30days of abstinence (22.9 versus 3nce.

An international cohort study indicates that young smokers are more likely to attempt to quit and appear to have similar levels of success in abstaining from smoking compared with older smokers when controlling for dependence. Quit success in all ages is most predicted by lower levels of nicotine dependence.

An important factor when considering the use of interventional cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging during cardiac procedures is the trade-off between imaging dose and image quality. Accordingly, Adaptive CaRdiac cOne BEAm computed Tomography (ACROBEAT) presents an alternative acquisition method, adapting the gantry velocity and projection rate of CBCT imaging systems in accordance with a patient's electrocardiogram (ECG) signal in real-time. The aim of this study was to experimentally investigate that ACROBEAT acquisitions deliver improved image quality compared to conventional cardiac CBCT imaging protocols with fewer projections acquired.

The Siemens ARTIS pheno (Siemens Healthcare, GmbH, Germany), a robotic CBCT C-arm system, was used to compare ACROBEAT with a commercially available conventional cardiac imaging protocol that utilizes multisweep retrospective ECG-gated acquisition. For ACROBEAT, real-time control of the gantry position was enabled through the Siemens Test Automation Control sy system, delivering higher quality images while reducing the number of projections acquired by 90% compared to conventional cardiac imaging protocols.

Adaptive patient imaging is feasible on a clinical robotic CBCT system, delivering higher quality images while reducing the number of projections acquired by 90% compared to conventional cardiac imaging protocols.

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) play an important role in skeletal muscle development and disease by regulating RNA splicing. In myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1), the RBP MBNL1 (muscleblind-like) is sequestered by toxic CUG repeats, leading to missplicing of MBNL1 targets. Mounting evidence from the literature has implicated other factors in the pathogenesis of DM1. Herein we sought to evaluate the functional role of the splicing factor hnRNP L in normal and DM1 muscle cells.

Co-immunoprecipitation assays using hnRNPL and MBNL1 expression constructs and splicing profiling in normal and DM1 muscle cell lines were performed. Zebrafish morpholinos targeting hnrpl and hnrnpl2 were injected into one-cell zebrafish for developmental and muscle analysis. In human myoblasts downregulation of hnRNP L was achieved with shRNAi. Ascochlorin administration to DM1 myoblasts was performed and expression of the CUG repeats, DM1 splicing biomarkers, and hnRNP L expression levels were evaluated.

Using DM1 patient myoblast cell lines we observed the formation of abnormal hnRNP L nuclear foci within and outside the expanded CUG repeats, suggesting a role for this factor in DM1 pathology.
