Communication of disease presentation and mechanism of spread remain keys to getting ahead of the virus and limiting its spread beyond the capacity of management. Owing to huge academic focus and pandemic concern around the globe, this bibliometric analysis investigated research productivity related to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic using the Web of Science database. The relevant data were harvested, and search query was further refined by publication years (2020 OR 2019) and document types (article, book chapter, and proceedings paper). Finally, 6694 records were imported and downloaded in Plaintext and BibTeX formats on August 1, 2020. The data analysis was performed using MS Excel, VOS viewer, and Biblioshiny software. Of the 6694 publications that appeared in that period, the USA and Chinese research institutions topped the numbers. At the same time, the Journal of Medical Virology and CUREUS (Cureus Journal of Medical Science), remained favorite journals for publications. The pattern of multi-author publications has outstripped that of single-authors. Apart from COVID-19 and the novel coronavirus, the important keywords mentioned included pandemic, pneumonia, epidemiology, public health, outbreak, epidemic, China, infection, and treatment. The analysis shows a strong local research response from China, with large teams reporting on the disease outbreak. Subsequent studies will document a global response as the virus spreads worldwide. The initial research related to the current coronavirus outbreak was reported from within China. The data and patterns were supposed to alter as the virus spread globally.First line treatment for Parkinson's disease (PD) is typically either L-dopa or a non-ergot dopamine agonist (DA). However, the options for the treatment of motor symptoms in PD patients have increased in the last thirty years, which have seen several new classes of PD medications introduced onto the market. The purpose of this study is to examine the changes in first line therapy of newly diagnosed Parkinson's patients between 2000 and 2016 in Wales. A population-based study evaluated data from the Secure Anonymised Information Linkage (SAIL) Databank of residents in Wales, aged 40 years or older, newly treated with PD medications between 2000 and 2016. The data was compared across three intervals 2000-2005, 2006-2011 and 2012-2016. Patients were classified by age at diagnosis into young 40-60 years; mid, 61-80 years; and older >80 years. Logistic regression was undertaken to determine the predictors of PD medication prescribing. For the whole study period, the profiles of 9142 newly diagnosed PD patients were analysed. L-dopa was the most common first line therapy (80.6%), followed by non-ergot DAs (12.9%) and monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) inhibitors (7.9%). Odds of L-dopa prescribing were greater in patients >80 years (OR = 20.46 95%CI 16.25-25.76) and in the period 2012-2016 (OR = 1.98 95% CI 1.70-2.29). Prescribing of non-ergot DAs significantly declined in 2012-2016 (OR = 0.42 95% CI 0.35-0.49). Additional factors influencing first line therapy were deprivation, presence of diabetes and prior use of antidepressants. For example, PD patients residing in the least deprived area were less likely to be prescribed L-dopa compared to patients residing in the most deprived area (OR = 0.77 95% CI 0.65-0.93). First line therapy in PD in Wales has undergone a significant switch towards L-dopa over the last 16 years. The data indicates reasonable compliance with guidelines on efficacy and safety issues related to Parkinson's medications.

To identify patient's factors from their clinical picture and demographics, and recognize their association and influence on frequency of physician visit.

Study was conducted in Karachi from January - December 2019. Primary data was collected from 255 asthmatic patients that visited different hospitals, homeopathic and herbal clinics. Questionnaire included patient's demographic details, treatment choice for asthma and satisfaction level with different treatments. Collected data was analyzed by SPSS 20.

Among 255 asthmatic patients, 101 visited 5 - 7 times to physician from the past year, 48 visited 8-10 times and 27 went to physician more than 10 times in past 12months. While 30 patients did not visit the physician even once and only 20 patients visited 1-2 times in the last year. From clinical factors, association of severity (p=0.0001), limitation (p=0.0001) and side effects (p=0.003) with physician visit were found to be statistically significant. In addition, among demographics, age (p=0.004), education (p=0.0001), income (p=0.0001) and having pets (p=0.007) were found to be significant factors associated with physician visit for asthma in the past year.

Most of the asthmatic patients covered in the study visited the physician more than five times during the last year and chose allopathic treatment for asthma. Age, education, severity and side effects of asthma treatment were some of the significant factors associated with physician visit. Patients with frequent follow up visits to the physician were satisfied with their treatment.

However, APAP is associated with toxic effects in renal tissue that appear because of its free radicals property. The principle goal of the present work is to assess the kidney damage by APAP and its restore antioxidative property of cinnamon oil (CO). Animals were distributed into six animals each in six groups. Rats were administered with three varying doses of CO from 50 to 200 mg/kg b.w. selleck chemical respectively and only a single dose of APAP. APAP induced an alteration in serum biochemical markers, imbalance in oxidative parameters, morphological changes in kidney tissue along with increased interleukins cytokines (IL-1β & 6) and caspase (3, 9) levels. CO administration significantly ameliorates all the parameters and histopathological changes were restored. Moreover, it also restored the activities of antioxidative enzymes. Our work proved that an variance of oxidative markers in the kidney by APAP is ameliorated by CO in rats.
