The uptake of these preventive services is extremely low due to lack of spousal support and cost. Human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccines and cervical screening require finance as health services are mostly paid out of pocket. This study explored Nigerian men's willingness to encourage and pay for family member to obtain HPV vaccine and cervical screening. This is a cross-sectional study of 352 men aged 18-65 years living in 12 communities in the 6-geopolitical region. We found poor perception of HPV risk, and believed their family was not susceptible to cervical cancer. However, the majority (>80%) believed HPV vaccine and cervical screenings are important. Additionally, a good number (>58%) would encourage and pay for their family member to receive HPV vaccine and cervical screening. Residency, educational level and monthly income were significantly associated with willingness to encourage their family to receive HPV vaccine and cervical screening. Also, age group, marital status, residency, educational level and monthly income were significantly associated with the willingness to pay for HPV vaccine and cervical cancer screening. Majority were willing to encourage and pay for their family member to get vaccinated and receive cervical screening. This supports the findings that lack of male involvement may be an overlooked obstacle to cervical cancer prevention in developing countries.

However, the functional significance of red maple MYB TFs remains unclear. Our research identified 393 MYB transcription factors in the Acer rubrum genome, and these ArMYB members were unevenly distributed across 34 chromosomes. Among them, R2R3 was the primary MYB subclass, which was further divided into 21 subgroups with their Arabidopsis homologs. The evolution of the ArMYB family was also investigated, with the results revealing several R2R3-MYB subgroups with expanded membership in woody species. Quantitative real-time PCR analysis revealed that the ArMYB89 transcription level was significantly up-regulated in red leaves in contrast to green leaves. Here, we report on the isolation and characterization of ArMYB89 in red maple. Subcellular localization experiments indicated that ArMYB89 was localized on the nucleus. Further experiments revealed that ArMYB89 could interact with ArSGT1 in vitro and in vivo. The overexpression of ArMYB89 in tobacco might enhance the anthocyanin content of transgenic plants. In conclusion, our results contributed to the elucidation of a theoretical basis for the ArMYB gene family and provides a foundation for the further characterization of the biological roles of MYB genes in the regulation of Acer rubrum leaf color.Successful social engagement is one of many important outcomes for deaf youth as they transition from high school to adult life. This study examined the effect of self-advocacy and social/life skill trainings in secondary school settings on social engagement after high school using propensity score modeling and data from the large-scale and nationally representative National Longitudinal Transition Study-2. Analyses focused on three types of post-high school social engagement frequency of seeing friends, involvement in group activities, and participation in community service. A fourth outcome variable was created to indicate whether the individual was at least minimally engaged. Results found that deaf youth who received self-advocacy training in secondary school were significantly more likely to be at least minimally engaged than those who had not. These findings suggest that self-advocacy training in high school can help protect deaf youth against social isolation in young adulthood.
