In addition, stripped corn oil exhibited the characteristic of preventing stigmasterol degradation below 200 °C, whereas it enhanced the chemical conversion (such as esterification and degradation) of stigmasterol at higher temperatures.A novel dual electrochemical immunosensor was fabricated for the rapid and sensitive detection of enrofloxacin (EF) antibiotic in meat. Anti-quinolone antibody was immobilized onto screen-printed dual carbon electrodes via carbodiimide coupling. A new electrochemical probe was synthesized by conjugating difloxacin and aminoferrocene, whose oxidation was measured at + 0.2 V vs. Ag/AgCl by differential pulse voltammetry. The detection principle was based on the competitive binding of this conjugate and free EF on immobilized antibodies. The proposed immunosensor allowed detection of EF at concentrations ranging from 0.005 µg.mL-1 to 0.01 µg.mL-1 with a detection limit of 0.003 µg.mL-1. The immunosensor was stable for at least 1 month at 4 °C and displayed a good specificity for other fluoroquinolones. The new dual electrode design offered an improved accuracy as one electrode was used as negative control. The efficiency of the sensor and the adequacy of the extraction process were finally validated by detecting EF in different meat samples.Hickory (Carya cathayensis) nuts contain higher amount of lipids, and possess high nutritional value and substantial health benefits. However, their lipid composition and dynamic changes during embryogenesis have not been thoroughly investigated. Therefore, lipidomics profile and lipid dynamic changes during embryonic development were analyzed using ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). Totally, 544 kinds of lipids were identified in mature hickory nuts with higher proportions of glycerolipids (59.94%) and glycerophospholipids (38.66%). Notably, diacylglycerols showed gradual uptrends, which corresponded with total glycerolipid and glycerophospholipid at middle and late stage of embryogenesis, suggesting the pivotal role of diacylglycerols in the accumulation of glycerolipids and glycerophospholipids. Moreover, triacylglycerols, diacylglycerols, phosphatidylethanolamines and phosphatidylcholines had high relative content with abundance of unsaturated fatty acids, specifically oleic acid, linoleic acid and linolenic acid, localized mainly at sn-2 lipid position. Together, our study provides innovative perspectives for studying the nutritional benefits of hickory nut lipids.Non-enzymatic glucose sensors outperform enzymatic ones in terms of cost, sensitivity, stability, and operating duration. Though highly sensitive, it is still desirable to further improve the sensitivity of non-enzymatic glucose sensors to detect a trace amount of glucose in sweat and other biofluids. Among the demonstrated effective approaches using bimetals or 3D porous structures, the porous laser-induced graphene (LIG) on flexible polymers showcases good conductivity and a simple fabrication process for the integration of sensing materials. The uniform electroless plating of the nickel and gold layer on LIG electrodes demonstrates significantly enhanced sensitivity and a large linear range for glucose sensing. MEK inhibitor The sensor with the porous LIG foam exhibits a high sensitivity of 1080 μA mM-1 cm-2, whereas a further increased sensitivity of 3500 μA mM-1 cm-2 is obtained with LIG fibers (LIGF). Impressively, a large linear range (0-30 mM) can be achieved by changing the bias voltage from 0.5 to 0.1 V due to the Au coating. Because the existing non-enzymatic glucose sensors are limited to use in basic solutions, their application in wearable electronics is elusive. In addition to the reduced requirement for the basic solution, this work integrates a porous encapsulating reaction cavity containing alkali solutions with a soft, skin-interfaced microfluidic component to provide integrated microfluidic non-enzymatic glucose sensors for sweat sampling and glucose sensing. The accurate glucose measurements from the human sweat and cell culture media showcase the practical utility, which opens up opportunities for the non-enzymatic glucose sensors in wearable electronics.
The prognostic value of radiologic extranodal extension (rENE) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma remains controversial. In this study, a meta-analysis was performed to assess the prognostic value of ungraded rENE and unambiguous advanced rENE.
A literature search through PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE and manual searches was conducted until May 2021. The adjusted hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of overall survival and distant metastasis-free survival were extracted and pooled.
Nine eligible studies were published between 2012 and 2021. The pooled patient number was 7532 (range 61-1887). Seven studies were eligible for the analysis of ungraded rENE, while 3 studies were eligible for unambiguous advanced rENE. The results showed that ungraded rENE was associated with worse overall survival (HR 1.85, 95% CI 1.04-3.27) and significantly associated with worse distant metastasis-free survival (HR 2.07, 95% CI 1.36-3.13). On the other hand, unambiguous advanced rENE was significantly associated with worse overall survival (HR 2.62, 95% CI 2.12-3.25) and worse distant metastasis-free survival (HR 3.14, 95% CI 1.85-5.33).
In nasopharyngeal carcinoma, both ungraded and unambiguous advanced rENE are significant prognosticators of overall survival and distant metastasis-free survival. More prospective studies are required to determine its role in risk stratification or clinical staging.

Tumor-infiltrating T cell (TIL) is a major cell type involved in tumor eradication in the tumor microenvironment (TME). Among TILs, tissue-resident memory T cells (T
s) have been recognized as a subset capable of continuous immunosurveillance to afford long-term immunity. In the present study, we comprehensively profiled T
in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).
We analyzed RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) data obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Based on the gene expression of CD69 and CD4/CD8A, we identified T
-enriched patients and evaluated their clinical and biological significance. In addition, we analyzed peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) obtained from 60 patients with HNSCC to evaluate the presence of T
-like cells in the peripheral circulation.
TCGA analysis revealed that T
-enriched tumors correlated with early T factor, human papillomavirus-positive status, the proportion of oropharynx lesion, upregulated inflammatory pathways, upregulation of immunostimulatory and immune checkpoint molecule genes, and favorable overall survival. Moreover, we clarified the presence of CD69+T
-like cells that highly express PD-1 and TIM-3 in the peripheral circulation of patients with HNSCC.
We highlighted the clinical and transcriptomic significance of T
in patients with HNSCC. Further characterization of T
could lead to the development of novel biomarkers, especially for immune checkpoint therapies.

There is increasing use of cost-effectiveness measures to help prioritise between different programs and actions to reduce pollutants, given limited resources and the scale of the issues. However there are a small number of primary studies available, and the consistency of cost-effectiveness measures and their application is limited, particularly given the various uncertainties that underlie the measures. Unlike Europe and the United States of America water policy or benefit transfer approaches, there are no procedural guidance studies that must be followed in the context of the Great Barrier Reef catchments. In this study we review the use of cost effectiveness estimates for pollutant reduction into the Great Barrier Reef in the context of a benefit transfer framework, where estimates of costs from a particular case study are transferred to various scenarios within different catchments. The conclusions suggest a framework be developed for the Great Barrier Reef, which is consistent, transparent, and rigorous. The horn fly, Haematobia irritans, is a bovine ectoparasite that causes large losses to cattle breeders, through lower meat and milk production and hide damage. Currently, the control of this parasite is mainly through chemicals. However, the indiscriminate use of these substances generates resistance. Pyriproxyfen belongs to an insect growth disruptors class with mechanisms of action for the control of immature forms of the insect. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential of pyriproxyfen administered orally to cattle for the control of the horn fly. In vitro bioassays were carried out by evaluating the number of adults emerged from 30 eggs per replicate, in triplicate, added in a substrate (fresh cattle feces) spiked with pyriproxyfen solutions in the concentration range of 2-130 ppb (ng.g-1). Probit analysis estimated LC50 value of 7.89 ppb and LC90 value of 70.08 ppb. The doses used in the in vivo evaluation were established based on the LC90 values and the anatomical and physiological aspects of the bovine digestive tract. Capsules containing pyriproxyfen at doses of 2.5 mg (G2.5) and 40 mg (G40) were produced and administered orally by bolus applicator for 12 days. The efficacy of pyriproxyfen against the immature forms of H. irritans was determined by incubating eggs in vitro in the feces collected on days 0, +3, +6, +10 and +13. Quantification of pyriproxyfen in feces was performed by UPLC-MS/MS, finding concentrations ranging from 13.4 to 22.6 ppb for G2.5 and between 268.5 to 509.0 ppb for G40. Pyriproxyfen administered orally is eliminated in the active form in the fecal mass and at a dose of 40 mg.day-1 (0.1 mg/kg/day) generates fecal concentrations able to produce 100 % prevention of adults emergence of H. irritans. The prevalence of gastrointestinal helminths was investigated in sixty-six commercial non-caged layer flocks. Twenty-nine flocks were housed indoors in aviaries or floor systems, nineteen flocks were kept in conventional free-range systems with outdoor access, and eighteen flocks in organic free-range systems. Flocks were investigated at end of rearing (mean age 17 weeks), peak of egg production (mean age 38 weeks) and before slaughter (mean age 74 weeks). Four different methods were applied to determine worm infestation. During necropsies, worm infestations were recorded and mucosal scrapings were evaluated for the presence of worm eggs. Faecal samples from each flock were investigated by simple flotation method and McMaster counting technique. No gastrointestinal helminths were found in pullets. During production, 87.9 % of the layer flocks were infected with at least one nematode species at the peak of production. The prevalence further increased significantly up to 98.5 % at the end of production (p=0.05).
