Totally, 544 kinds of lipids were identified in mature hickory nuts with higher proportions of glycerolipids (59.94%) and glycerophospholipids (38.66%). Notably, diacylglycerols showed gradual uptrends, which corresponded with total glycerolipid and glycerophospholipid at middle and late stage of embryogenesis, suggesting the pivotal role of diacylglycerols in the accumulation of glycerolipids and glycerophospholipids. Moreover, triacylglycerols, diacylglycerols, phosphatidylethanolamines and phosphatidylcholines had high relative content with abundance of unsaturated fatty acids, specifically oleic acid, linoleic acid and linolenic acid, localized mainly at sn-2 lipid position. The prognostic value of radiologic extranodal extension (rENE) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma remains controversial. In this study, a meta-analysis was performed to assess the prognostic value of ungraded rENE and unambiguous advanced rENE.

A literature search through PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE and manual searches was conducted until May 2021. The adjusted hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of overall survival and distant metastasis-free survival were extracted and pooled.

Nine eligible studies were published between 2012 and 2021. The pooled patient number was 7532 (range 61-1887). Seven studies were eligible for the analysis of ungraded rENE, while 3 studies were eligible for unambiguous advanced rENE. The results showed that ungraded rENE was associated with worse overall survival (HR 1.85, 95% CI 1.04-3.27) and significantly associated with worse distant metastasis-free survival (HR 2.07, 95% CI 1.36-3.13). On the other hand, unambiguous advanced rENE was significantly associated with worse overall survival (HR 2.62, 95% CI 2.12-3.25) and worse distant metastasis-free survival (HR 3.14, 95% CI 1.85-5.33).

In nasopharyngeal carcinoma, both ungraded and unambiguous advanced rENE are significant prognosticators of overall survival and distant metastasis-free survival. More prospective studies are required to determine its role in risk stratification or clinical staging.

There is increasing use of cost-effectiveness measures to help prioritise between different programs and actions to reduce pollutants, given limited resources and the scale of the issues. However there are a small number of primary studies available, and the consistency of cost-effectiveness measures and their application is limited, particularly given the various uncertainties that underlie the measures. Unlike Europe and the United States of America water policy or benefit transfer approaches, there are no procedural guidance studies that must be followed in the context of the Great Barrier Reef catchments. In this study we review the use of cost effectiveness estimates for pollutant reduction into the Great Barrier Reef in the context of a benefit transfer framework, where estimates of costs from a particular case study are transferred to various scenarios within different catchments. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential of pyriproxyfen administered orally to cattle for the control of the horn fly. In vitro bioassays were carried out by evaluating the number of adults emerged from 30 eggs per replicate, in triplicate, added in a substrate (fresh cattle feces) spiked with pyriproxyfen solutions in the concentration range of 2-130 ppb (ng.g-1). Twenty-nine flocks were housed indoors in aviaries or floor systems, nineteen flocks were kept in conventional free-range systems with outdoor access, and eighteen flocks in organic free-range systems. Flocks were investigated at end of rearing (mean age 17 weeks), peak of egg production (mean age 38 weeks) and before slaughter (mean age 74 weeks). Four different methods were applied to determine worm infestation. During necropsies, worm infestations were recorded and mucosal scrapings were evaluated for the presence of worm eggs. Faecal samples from each flock were investigated by simple flotation method and McMaster counting technique. No gastrointestinal helminths were found in pullets. During production, 87.9 % of the layer flocks were infected with at least one nematode species at the peak of production. The prevalence further increased significantly up to 98.5 % at the end of production (p=0.05).
