Degenerative mitral regurgitation repair using a measured algorithm could increase the precision and reproducibility of repair outcomes.

Systolic anterior motion at discharge and last follow-up were 0.2% and 1.1%, respectively. Ten-year freedom from mitral valve reoperation was 99.7%.

To investigate the relationship between endogenous estrogen exposure and renal function, the association of female reproductive life span duration (RLD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) was analyzed in postmenopausal women.

Data were retrieved from the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study, which was constructed from May 1, 2001, through December 25, 2017. A total of 50,338 and 3155 postmenopausal women were each included in the cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses. The RLD was determined by subtracting the age at menarche from the age at menopause. Participants were grouped into RLD quartiles. To evaluate the contemporary trends in outcomes and resource use associated with transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) in the United States.

We identified patients who underwent TAVR between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2017, in the National Readmission Database. We assessed temporal trends in clinical outcomes, length-of-stay, non-home discharges, and cost of the index TAVR hospitalization. We also evaluated the changes in the burden of hospitalizations before and after TAVR.

To evaluate the impact of insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor variant rs2016347 on the risk for breast and nonbreast cancers and cardiovascular disease in women with a history of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP).

This retrospective cohort study included all parous women in the UK Biobank with prior rs2016347 genotyping (N=204,155), with enrollment taking place from March 2006 to July 2010. History of HDP was self-reported, and outcomes included breast and all nonbreast cancers, hospital diagnoses of hypertension and cardiovascular disease, and direct blood pressure measurements.

Women with previous HDP had a higher risk for future hypertension and cardiovascular diagnoses, increased blood pressures, and lower risk for breast cancer compared with women without HDP, consistent with prior studies. Hazard ratios for all nonbreast cancers were unchanged.
