To investigate the clinical and computed tomography (CT) characteristics of pulmonary nodules caused by cryptococcal infection and gain a greater insight and understanding that will reduce misdiagnosis.

A total of 47 patients with confirmed pulmonary cryptococcosis (PC) manifested as nodules were retrospectively enrolled from January 2013 to December 2020. The clinical and CT data of patients with single and multiple nodules were analyzed and compared with emphasis on exploring the characteristics of the solitary ones.

Among the 47 patients, single and multiple nodules were detected in 25 (53.2%) and 22 (46.8%) patients, respectively, with similar clinical characteristics. The diameter of solitary nodules was smaller than that of the largest ones of the multiple nodules (

= 0.000). Compared with multiple nodules, less solitary nodules were located in the subpleural zone (

= 0.031) and had a cavity or vacuole (

There has been an increasing number of COVID-19 patients around the world. Since some patients developed with gastrointestinal bleeding, our study focused on the clinical features and gastroscopic findings of these patients, and factors associated with occult gastrointestinal bleeding.

In this retrospective, observational study, we collected 368 COVID-19 patients who performed fecal or gastric occult blood from Wuhan Tongji Hospital, Jin Yin-tan Hospital, and Wuhan Union Hospital between February 1, 2020 and March 6, 2020. Clinical features were compared between patients with or without occult gastrointestinal bleeding, and gastroscopic findings of seven patients were described. Logistic regression analyses were performed to explore the factors associated with occult gastrointestinal bleeding.

In total, 43 (11.7%) patients presented occult gastrointestinal bleeding, whereas 35 (81.4%) of severe cases. CRP level, prothrombin time and D-dimer were higher, while lymphocyte count and albumin levels were decreased in patients with occult gastrointestinal bleeding. A comprehensive face-to-face interview based on the Bahasa Malaysia version of the Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study (JAGES-BM) questionnaire was administered to gain information on unmet healthcare needs, socioeconomic factors, health-related factors, and measures of function (activities of daily living, depression, visual impairment, hearing impairment, memory impairment, and walking impairment). Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze factors associated with their unmet healthcare needs.
