The experimental results demonstrated the robustness of the controller, which was able to maintain the RMSE in the range of 1-4 cm for the depth of the vehicle, outperforming related work, even when the disturbance was large enough to produce thruster saturation.Present-day intelligent healthcare applications offer digital healthcare services to users in a distributed manner. The Internet of Healthcare Things (IoHT) is the mechanism of the Internet of Things (IoT) found in different healthcare applications, with devices that are attached to external fog cloud networks. Using different mobile applications connecting to cloud computing, the applications of the IoHT are remote healthcare monitoring systems, high blood pressure monitoring, online medical counseling, and others. These applications are designed based on a client-server architecture based on various standards such as the common object request broker (CORBA), a service-oriented architecture (SOA), remote method invocation (RMI), and others. However, these applications do not directly support the many healthcare nodes and blockchain technology in the current standard. Thus, this study devises a potent blockchain-enabled socket RPC IoHT framework for medical enterprises (e.g., healthcare applications). The goal is to minimize service costs, blockchain security costs, and data storage costs in distributed mobile cloud networks. Simulation results show that the proposed blockchain-enabled socket RPC minimized the service cost by 40%, the blockchain cost by 49%, and the storage cost by 23% for healthcare applications.Squirrel-cage induction motors are increasingly displaying a broken rotor bar fault, which represents both a technical problem and an economic problem. After confirming that the broken rotor bars do not affect the normal start-up and basic working performance of the squirrel-cage induction motor, this paper focuses on the loss and efficiency changes of the motor brought about by the broken rotor bar fault. Using finite element simulation and experimentation, various losses like stator copper loss, iron loss, rotor copper loss, mechanical loss and additional losses, total loss and efficiency are obtained. By combining price and cost factors, the cost-effective measures that can be taken after the occurrence of different degrees of broken bars are evaluated here to provide guidance for correctly handling this problem. One common issue of object detection in aerial imagery is the small size of objects in proportion to the overall image size. This is mainly caused by high camera altitude and wide-angle lenses that are commonly used in drones aimed to maximize the coverage. State-of-the-art general purpose object detector tend to under-perform and struggle with small object detection due to loss of spatial features and weak feature representation of the small objects and sheer imbalance between objects and the background. This paper aims to address small object detection in aerial imagery by offering a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model that utilizes the Single Shot multi-box Detector (SSD) as the baseline network and extends its small object detection performance with feature enhancement modules including super-resolution, deconvolution and feature fusion. These modules are collectively aimed at improving the feature representation of small objects at the prediction layer. The performance of the proposed model is evaluated using three datasets including two aerial images datasets that mainly consist of small objects. The proposed model is compared with the state-of-the-art small object detectors. Experiment results demonstrate improvements in the mean Absolute Precision (mAP) and Recall values in comparison to the state-of-the-art small object detectors that investigated in this study.Urban seismic networks are considered very useful tools for the management of seismic emergencies. In this work, a study of the first urban seismic network in central Italy is presented. The urban seismic network, built using MEMS sensors, was implemented in the urban district of Camerino, one of the cities in central Italy with the greatest seismic vulnerability. The technological choices adopted in developing this system as well as the implemented algorithms are shown in the context of their application to the first seismic event recorded by this innovative monitoring infrastructure. This monitoring network is innovative because it implements a distributed computing and statistical earthquake detection algorithm. As such, it is not based on the traces received by the stations from the central server; rather, each station carries out the necessary checks on the signal in real time, sending brief reports to the server in case of anomalies. This approach attempts to shorten the time between event detection and alert, effectively removing the dead times in the systems currently used in the Italian national network. The only limit for an instant alarm is the latency in the tcp/ip packages used to send the short reports to the server. The presented work shows the infrastructure created; however, there is not enough data to draw conclusions on this new early warning approach in the field, as it is currently in the data collection phase.Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal identification technology is rapidly replacing traditional fingerprint, face, iris and other recognition technologies, avoiding the vulnerability of traditional recognition technologies. This paper proposes an ECG signal identification method based on the wavelet transform algorithm and the probabilistic neural network by whale optimization algorithm (WOA-PNN). Firstly, Q, R and S waves are detected by wavelet transform, and the P and T waves are detected by local windowed wavelet transform. The characteristic values are constructed by the detected time points, and the ECG data dimension is smaller than that of the non-reference detection. Secondly, combined with the probabilistic neural network, the mean impact value algorithm is used to screen the characteristic values, the characteristic values with low influence are eliminated, and the input and complexity of the model are simplified. Finally, a WOA-PNN combined classification method is proposed to intelligently optimize the hyper parameters in the probabilistic neural network algorithm to improve the model accuracy. According to the simulation verification on three databases, ECG-ID, MIT-BIH Normal Sinus Rhythm and MIT-BIH Arrhythmia, the identification accuracy of a single ECG cycle is 96.97%, and the identification accuracy of three ECG cycles is 99.43%.A smart grid is a modern electricity system enabling a bidirectional flow of communication that works on the notion of demand response. The stability prediction of the smart grid becomes necessary to make it more reliable and improve the efficiency and consistency of the electrical supply. Due to sensor or system failures, missing input data can often occur. It is worth noting that there has been no work conducted to predict the missing input variables in the past. Thus, this paper aims to develop an enhanced forecasting model to predict smart grid stability using neural networks to handle the missing data. Four case studies with missing input data are conducted. The missing data is predicted for each case, and then a model is prepared to predict the stability. The Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm is used to train all the models and the transfer functions used are tansig and purelin in the hidden and output layers, respectively. The model's performance is evaluated on a four-node star network and is measured in terms of the MSE and R2 values. The four stability prediction models demonstrate good performances and depict the best training and prediction ability.COVID-19 occurs due to infection through respiratory droplets containing the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which are released when someone sneezes, coughs, or talks. The gold-standard exam to detect the virus is Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR); however, this is an expensive test and may require up to 3 days after infection for a reliable result, and if there is high demand, the labs could be overwhelmed, which can cause significant delays in providing results. Biomedical data (oxygen saturation level-SpO2, body temperature, heart rate, and cough) are acquired from individuals and are used to help infer infection by COVID-19, using machine learning algorithms. The goal of this study is to introduce the Integrated Portable Medical Assistant (IPMA), which is a multimodal piece of equipment that can collect biomedical data, such as oxygen saturation level, body temperature, heart rate, and cough sound, and helps infer the diagnosis of COVID-19 through machine learning algorithms. The IPMA has the capacity to stohrough data collected from biomedical signals and cough sounds, as well as the use of machine learning algorithms. It is a well-established practice to build a robust system for sound event detection by training supervised deep learning models on large datasets, but audio data collection and labeling are often challenging and require large amounts of effort. This paper proposes a workflow based on few-shot metric learning for emergency siren detection performed in steps prototypical networks are trained on publicly available sources or synthetic data in multiple combinations, and at inference time, the best knowledge learned in associating a sound with its class representation is transferred to identify ambulance sirens, given only a few instances for the prototype computation. Performance is evaluated on siren recordings acquired by sensors inside and outside the cabin of an equipped car, investigating the contribution of filtering techniques for background noise reduction. The results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach, achieving AUPRC scores equal to 0.86 and 0.91 in unfiltered and filtered conditions, respectively, outperforming a convolutional baseline model with and without fine-tuning for domain adaptation. Extensive experiments conducted on several recording sensor placements prove that few-shot learning is a reliable technique even in real-world scenarios and gives valuable insights for developing an in-car emergency vehicle detection system.Remote attestation (RA) is an effective malware detection mechanism that allows a trusted entity (Verifier) to detect a potentially compromised remote device (Prover). The recent research works are proposing advanced Control-Flow Attestation (CFA) protocols that are able to trace the Prover's execution flow to detect runtime attacks. Nevertheless, several memory regions remain unattested, leaving the Prover vulnerable to data memory and mobile adversaries. Selleckchem Apocynin Multi-service devices, whose integrity is also dependent on the integrity of any attached external peripheral devices, are particularly vulnerable to such attacks. This paper extends the state-of-the-art RA schemes by presenting ERAMO, a protocol that attests larger memory regions by adopting the memory offloading approach. We validate and evaluate ERAMO with a hardware proof-of-concept implementation using a TrustZone-capable LPC55S69 running two sensor nodes. We enhance the protocol by providing extensive memory analysis insights for multi-service devices, demonstrating that it is possible to analyze and attest the memory of the attached peripherals.
