Approximately 34% of chronic users developed constipation, 20% experienced falls, and 8% reported dizziness. Among endometriosis patients, women in younger age groups, those with other comorbidities associated with pain symptoms, as well as those with depression or anxiety were at a higher risk of developing chronic opioid use.

Women with endometriosis had a four times greater risk of chronic opioid use compared to women without. Multimorbidity among these patients was associated with the elevated risk of chronic opioid use and should be taken into account during treatment selection.

As a regulator of ROS, cytoglobin (CYGB) plays an important role in oxygen homeostasis and acts as a tumour suppressor. However, the mechanism by which CYGB regulates cell death is largely unknown. Here, we show that CYGB overexpression increased ROS accumulation and disrupted mitochondrial function as determined by the oxygen consumption rate and membrane potential. Importantly, ferroptotic features with accumulated lipid ROS and malondialdehyde were observed in CYGB-overexpressing colorectal cancer cells. Moreover, CYGB significantly increased the sensitivity of cancer cells to RSL3- and erastin-induced ferroptotic cell death. Mechanically, both YAP1 and p53 were significantly increased based on the RNA sequencing. The knock-down of YAP1 alleviated production of lipid ROS and sensitivity to ferroptosis in CYGB overexpressed cells. Furthermore, YAP1 was identified to be inhibited by p53 knock-down. Finally, high expression level of CYGB had the close correlation with key genes YAP1 and ACSL4 in ferroptosis pathway in colon cancer based on analysis from TCGA data. Collectively, our results demonstrated a novel tumour suppressor role of CYGB through p53-YAP1 axis in regulating ferroptosis and suggested a potential therapeutic approach for colon cancer. The definition and scope of the genus Carcharhinus has undergone several changes over the years and recent molecular studies have questioned its monophyly by the inclusion of other carcharhinid genera. Although many descriptions of chondrocranium are available for Carcharhinus species, some inconsistences and divergences are found in the literature, mainly regarding the foramina of the orbital region. In this study, the chondrocranium of the silky shark, Carcharhinus falciformis, from specimens caught at the Brazilian coast and the terminology of its components is revised has been described. Chondrocrania of other Carcharhinus species and carcharhinid genera are also examined in order to investigate the phylogenetic significance of chondrocranial morphology. Rocaglamide order Three new anatomical terms and nine chondrocrania characters are proposed and described in detail. The chondrocranial morphology varies widely among Carcharhinus species mainly regarding the rostrum and nasal capsules. The chondrocrania of Prionace, Nasolamia, and Negaprion are similar to Carcharhinus species and reveal the need to further explore the relationships among these genera. Characters potentially informative for systematics are the shape of rostral node, the preorbital process, and the subethmoidal fossa, and the occurrence of an epiphyseal notch and foramen, and must be included in phylogenetic studies encompassing other carcharhiniforms.

Patients with recurrent cervical cancer after radiotherapy have poor prognoses because of the lack of effective treatment options. Biomarkers to predict survival outcomes for recurrent cervical cancer are warranted because patients with limited life expectancy sometimes benefit from less aggressive treatment in combination with early palliative care. Therefore, we aimed to explore a predictive biomarker for the outcomes of patients with recurrent cervical cancer.

We retrospectively investigated 231 patients initially treated with radiation-based therapy between January 2004 and December 2015. The associations between clinicopathological features at the time of relapse and overall survival after relapse were assessed. As factors which reflect patients' conditions, we particularly focused on C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio (CAR) and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) at the time of relapse. Additionally, we investigated biomarkers predictive of short-term survival.

Among 231 patients, 91 patients ex of short-term survival.

Fresh shrimp are highly perishable seafood and a reliable spoilage assessment method is necessary to ensure sufficient quality control. The current quality evaluation method employed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) uses subjective terms 'odor of decomposition' to reject shrimp shipments, which lacks reference standards to anchor the concept and can cause ambiguity. The present study aimed to develop chemical reference standards to assist in a more objective and consistent sensory evaluation of shrimp quality.

Chemical references were developed and used by the descriptive panel to demonstrate the aroma quality indicators of shrimp. The most important aroma attributes describing shrimp quality changes were 'salty water-like', 'natto water-like' and 'sour milk-like' based on the results of multiple linear regression analysis. The overall rating consistency of the key quality indicators was confirmed by trained a descriptive panel such that tte the potential of using chemical references as a new evaluation tool for on-site quality inspection or industrial quality assurance/quality control of shrimp with improved objectivity and consistency. © 2021 Society of Chemical Industry.

Both protracted irinotecan and antiangiogenesis therapy have shown promising efficacy against Ewing sarcoma (EWS).

Patients diagnosed with recurrent or refractory EWS were enrolled and further categorized into cohort A (≥16 years) or cohort B (<16 years). In the dose-defining phase Ib portion, anlotinib was given daily at a fixed dose, while a 3+3 design with dose de-escalation was used to determine the dose of irinotecan. The next dose-expanding phase II portion employed a conventional two-stage study design model. The primary endpoint was objective response rate at 12 weeks (ORR

).

A total of 41 patients finally received the treatment regimen, including 29 in cohort A and 12 in cohort B. For cohort A, the first five patients were treated at the initial level of 20 mg/m

/d d × 5 × 2, and two of them subsequently a dose-limiting toxicity (DLT). An additional six patients were then treated at 15 mg/m

without any DLT, and the RP2D was determined. Notably, 23 out of 24 patients in cohort A were available for response evaluation at 12 weeks.
