Net clinical adverse events were lower within 30days in the rivaroxaban group versus those in the only DAPT group and remained relatively low throughout the follow-up period. There were no significant differences in bleeding events between the 2 groups in 30days and 180days. However, 1 case of intracranial hemorrhage (major bleeding) occurred in the rivaroxaban group within 30days.

Our results supported that the short-duration addition of low-dose rivaroxaban to DAPT could prevent LVT formation in patients with anterior STEMI following primary percutaneous coronary intervention. A larger multiple-institution study is necessary to determine the generalizability.

Real-world TAVR data collection contributes to benefit/risk assessment and safety evidence for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, quality evaluation for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and hospitals, as well as clinical research and real-world implementation through appropriate use criteria. The essential minimum core dataset for these purposes has not previously been defined but is necessary to promote efficient, reusable real-world data collection supporting quality, regulatory, and clinical applications. The authors performed a systematic review of the published research for high-impact TAVR studies and U.S. multicenter, multidevice registries. Two expert task forces, one from the Predictable and Sustainable Implementation of National Cardiovascular Registries/Heart Valve Collaboratory and another from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons/American College of Cardiology TVT (Transcatheter Valve Therapy) Registry convened separately and then met to reconcile a final list of essential data elements. From 276 unique data elements considered, unanimous consensus agreement was achieved on 132 "core" data elements, with the most common reasons for exclusion from the minimum core dataset being burden or difficulty in accurate assessment (36.9%), duplicative information (33.3%), and low likelihood of affecting outcomes (10.7%). After a systematic review and extensive discussions, a multilateral group of academicians, industry representatives, and regulators established 132 interoperable, reusable essential core data elements essential to supporting more efficient, consistent, and informative TAVR device evidence for regulatory submissions, safety surveillance, best practice, and hospital quality assessments.

This article presents the findings of phase three of a mixed-method study. Phases one and two explored South African radiographers' radiation protection intention and practices and found that even though radiographers reported a high intention to perform radiation protection, varying practices were observed. Phase three of the study explored optimising radiation protection among radiographers in South Africa.

The research objective guiding phase three of the study was to explore co-constructed change ideas to facilitate optimal radiation protection.

A qualitative research approach using focus group interviews collected data from eight purposively selected radiography managers. The collected data was analysed using thematic analysis.

Two themes and related categories were identified. Radiographer managers defined radiation protection correctly and concurred that they observed suboptimal radiation protection practices. They attributed suboptimal practice with diminished stature of the radiographer withie; thereby, all stakeholders would be invested in upholding the organisation-wide impetus. However, ultimately compliance and accountability is an individual choice.Disc displacement is a common disorder of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) that often results in progressive joint dysfunction, including clicking, arthralgia, functional limitations, osteoarthritis, and even condylar resorption. Several arthroscopic techniques have been proposed to treat anterior disc displacement. Yang's arthroscopic disc repositioning and suturing technique, described in 2012, consist in a pair of sutures inserted through the junction of the disc and the retrodiscal tissue and tied underneath the cartilage of the external auditory canal. This technique is reported to be the most stable over time, but it has 2 main disadvantages, 1) it is one of the most challenging to perform, requiring a skill TMJ arthroscopic surgeon and 2) it needs a customized suture equipment. We designed a modification to Yang's technique using a common, cheap, available and disposable suture set.

In the past 10 yr, several agents based on prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) for positron emission tomography imaging have been introduced in clinical practice for the management of patients with prostate cancer (PCa).

To analyse the available data in the literature to clarify the advantages and disadvantages of [

Ga]Ga-PSMA and [

F]PSMA in different settings of PCa.

A systematic literature search was made by using two main databases. Only studies published in the past 5 yr (2016-2021) in the English language with >20 enrolled patients were selected. Two reviewers independently appraised each article using a standard protocol. All the studies were analysed using a modified version of the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme checklist for diagnostic test studies.

The systematic evaluation was made in 12 papers. Based on the quality assessment, the analysed studies demonstrated different methodologies. Three papers focused on the head-to-head comparison between

F- and [

Ga]Ga-PSMA (n = 12ability of specific tracers will likely guide choice.

In this systematic review, we analysed the currently available literature focused on [

Ga] and [

F]-labelled prostate-specific membrane antigen. Our purpose is to identify which tracers would be correctly employed for the management of patients with prostate cancer.

Nearly 40% of patients do not continue proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 inhibitor (PCSK9i) therapy after 6 months, despite their ability to lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and risk of cardiovascular events. Limited work has assessed persistence to PCSK9i therapy in an integrated specialty pharmacy model.

To assess rates of persistence to PCSK9i therapy and report reasons for non-persistence in patients serviced within an integrated specialty pharmacy.

We conducted a single-center, retrospective review of patients prescribed a PCSK9i at an academic health system between September 2015 and August 2018. Persistence was calculated as a binary measure (yes/no) of whether the patient was still receiving PCSK9i therapy at 3-, 12-, and 24-months; frequency distributions described reasons for non-persistence and descriptive statistics described the change in LDL-C from baseline to 24 months.

477 patients met inclusion criteria, 53% were male with median age of 63 years [IQR 56-70]. Median LDL-C at baseline was 157mg/dL and 86% had an atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease indication. Persistence at 3-, 12-, and 24-months was 94%, 80%, and 68%, respectively. Of the 262 patients persistent on PCSK9i therapy at 24 months with LDL-C values available, median LDL-C was 65 mg/dL. The most common reasons for non-persistence at 24 months included medication adverse effects (54%) and loss to follow-up (17%).

High rates of persistence to PCSK9i were seen in patients receiving care within an integrated specialty pharmacy model compared with rates in previous studies, suggesting specialty pharmacists may play a role in mitigating many common reasons for PCSK9i non-persistence.

Sexual dysfunction is a common symptom of multiple sclerosis (MS). Clinically meaningful and psychometrically sound measures of sexual function validated in people with MS are necessary to identify people with MS who experience problems with sexual function.

To evaluate the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) Sexual Function and Satisfaction (SexFS) v2.0 measure in people with MS and to extend the PROMIS SexFS Brief and Full Profiles to include additional aspects of sexual function relevant to people living with MS.

A convenience sample of MS clinicians and sexually active individuals with MS ranked relevance of 26 items that listed specific factors that interfere with sexual function. Rankings were used to select items to include in the modified SexFS for Multiple Sclerosis (SexFS-MS) profiles. Sex-FS Brief and Full profiles along with the top 22 ranked interfering factor items underwent cognitive interviews (CI) to assess whether the items were understandable and meaningfxual, only individuals who identified as heterosexual participated in this study. Results may not represent views of people with MS who identify as other sexual orientations who may have different concerns and priorities related to sexual function.

This study extended the PROMIS SexFS Brief and Full profiles to create the SexFS-MS by adding items that measure most relevant issues related to sexual function in individuals living with MS. Club cell secretory protein (CC16) exerts anti-inflammatory functions in lung disease. We sought to determine the relation of serum CC16 deficits and genetic variants that control serum CC16 to lung function among children with cystic fibrosis (CF).

We used longitudinal data from CF children (EPIC Study) with no positive cultures for Pseudomonas aeruginosa prior to enrollment. Circulating levels of CC16 and an inflammatory score (generated from CRP, SAA, calprotectin, G-CSF) were compared between participants with the lowest and highest FEV

levels in adolescence (LLF and HLF groups, respectively; N=130-per-group). Single nucleotide variants (SNVs) in the SCGB1A1, EHF-APIP loci were tested for association with circulating CC16 and with decline of FEV

and FEV

/FVC% predicted levels between ages 7-16 using mixed models.

Compared with the HLF group, the LLF group had lower levels of CC16 (geometric means 8.2vs 6.5ng/ml, respectively; p=0.0002) and higher levels of the normalized inflammatory score (-0.
