To study the prognosticvalues of preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) for patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) undergoing radicalcystectomy.

The clinical data of 186 MIBC patientsreceiving radical cystectomy from January 2013 toOctober 2015 were collected. Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves were plotted based on preoperativeNLR, PLR and LMR as well as survival of patientswithin 5 years after surgery. The NLR, PLR and LMRvalues of patients with different clinicopathologicalcharacteristics were described by frequencies.Recurrence-free survival curve was plotted using theKaplan-Meier method, and survival curves were comparedby the log-rank test. Independent risk factorsfor recurrence were explored by multivariate logisticregression analysis. NLR, PLR and LMR were utilizedto establish the recurrence risk scoring model, and theaccuracy for predicting recurrence was assessed byROC curves.

Non-traumatic ruptureof the pyeloureterocaliceal system (PUC) is anuncommon clinical entity. The most frequent cause isureteral obstruction due to lithiasic pathology, whichis present in up to 75%. To our knowledge, there isno description in the literature of the possible factorsassociated with this event. Our objective is to analyzethe variables associated with intravenous contrastextravasation in patients with renal colic due to singleureteral lithiasis.MATERIALS AND METHODS We performed aretrospective, descriptive analysis of a series ofpatients who, in the context of renal colic, presentedendovenous contrast extravasation throughthe urinary system in computed tomography (CT).Patients with single ureteral lithiasis without otherassociated pathology were included. A comparisonof the samples from the group with contrast leakage(group 1) with an equal number of consecutiveCT scans without contrast leakage (group 2) in patientswith renal colic lithiasis was performed in alogistic regression model to identifyic renalcolic in patients with intrarenal pelvic anatomy, with lithiasis less than or equal to 5 mm and locatedin the lower ureter.

To investigate the correlationsbetween forkhead box D1 (FOXD1) expressionand clinicopathological characteristics of bladdercancer and influence on the biological behaviors ofbladder cancer cells.

The overall survival rate of 87 bladdercancer patients was evaluated to explore the predictivevalue of FOXD1. The expressions of FOXD1 in 87 bladdercancer tissues and 26 adjacent tissues were measuredthrough immunohistochemistry, and the correlationsbetween FOXD1 expression and clinicopathologicalcharacteristics of patients were analyzed. FOXD1 mimicand FOXD1 siRNA were mixed and transferred intoT24 cells to construct FOXD overexpression and knockdowncell lines. Cell counting kit-8, wound-healing andTranswell migration assays were performed to detectcell proliferation, migration and invasion.RESULTS Prediction using bioinformatics websiteshowed that FOXD1 was highly expressed inbladder cancer tissues. The overall survival rate wassignificantly lower in bladder cancer patients withhigh FOXD1 expression than that is were significantly promotedin FOXD1 group and suppressed in si-FOXD1group (PCONCLUSIONS FOXD1 is highly expressed in bladdercancer tissues and cells, being closely associatedwith the development and progression of bladder cancer. It facilitates the proliferation, migration and invasionof cells and carcinogenesis. FOXD1 may be a newtarget for bladder cancer therapy.

To evaluate changes in morphology of the cesarean scar and uterus between one and two years after a previous cesarean section (p-CS) using high-resolution, three dimensional T2-weighted sampling perfection with application optimized contrast using different flip angle evolutions Magnetic Resonance Imaging (3D T2w SPACE MRI).

This prospective study was performed to investigate morphological changes in the cesarean scars and uterus from one to two years after p-CS using high-resolution, 3D T2w SPACE MRI. The healthy volunteers with no childbearing history were recruited as controls. All data were measured by two experienced radiologists. All data with a normal distribution between the one-year and two-year groups were compared using a paired-sample

test or independent

test.

Finally, 46 women took a pelvic MR examination one year after p-CS, and a subset of 15 completed the same examination again after two years of p-CS. Both the length of uterine and thickness of the myometrium after two years of cehology after p-CS reached relatively stable one year after p-CS, and uterine morphology was closer to normal two years after p-CS.Objective To explore the clinical significance of the combined application of palpebral margin cleaning and antibiotic eye drops in inhibiting bacterial growth in the palpebral margin and conjunctival sacs before cataract extraction. Methods In this study, 61 patients (97 eyes) with age-related cataract who underwent phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation were selected, and randomly grouped. In the experimental group, the combined application of palpebral margin cleaning with cotton pads and levofloxacin eye drops was given for three days before the surgery. In the control group, levofloxacin eye drops alone were applied for three consecutive days. Bacteria samples from the conjunctival sac and eyelid margins were cultivated and identified before and three days after taking antimicrobial measures, respectively. Results In the experimental group, the positive rates of the two bacteria samples were 100% (50/50) and 40% (20/50) before and 10% (5/50) and 0% (0/50) after the treatment. In the control group, the positive rates of the two bacteria samples were 97.9% (46/47) and 29.8% (14/47) before and 40.4% (19/47) and 10.6% (5/47) after the treatment. The positive rates between the two groups were not significantly different before taking antimicrobial measures (P= 0.485 and 0.395), while they were significantly different after taking antimicrobial measures (P = 0.001 and 0.024). Conclusion Combined application of eyelid and palpebral margin cleaning with cotton pads and antibiotic eye drops before cataract extraction imparted excellent antibacterial effects. The mandibular buccal bifurcation cyst is a rare type of inflammatory odontogenic cyst. We reported two cases complaining of an extraoral soft tissue painful swelling. selleck compound Intraoral examination revealed partially erupted mandibular first molar. Cone beam computed tomography showed well-defined areas surrounding the first molar consistent with cystic lesions. Histopathologic images showed a large number of plasma cells, neutrophils and eosinophils infiltrated, as well as a thin layer of non-keratinized stratified squamous epithelium. Combined with symptoms, radiological and pathological examinations, the two patients were diagnosed as mandibular buccal bifurcation cyst.

This paper provides a large-scale, per-National Hockey League (NHL) season analysis of hockey puck strike (HPS) injury data and also provides estimates of injury frequency and severity.

The study's goal was to quantify and describe the rate and type of spectator HPS injuries at NHL games.

This was a retrospective review of summary data reports for patients evaluated by on-site health care providers over six seasons (2013-2018). Data were obtained from a single Emergency Medical Service (EMS) agency.

Location of study was one US-based NHL venue.

There were 51 HPS recorded. This accounted for 0.93% of total patient contacts translating to a patient per 10,000 (PPTT) of 0.116. This was compared to a PPTT of 12.6 for all patient contacts. The average age of a patron with a HPS was 31 years old. There was an even split between male and female patrons with HPS. The most common location for a HPS was the head or face (75%) followed by upper extremity injuries. Laceration was most frequently diagnosed follo.

Prehospital ultrasounds can be considered a new form of diagnostic tool when taking into account their small structure and due to the fact that nowadays, they are used in the care of emergency patients. However, at present, there is no study regarding the advantage of ultrasound usage in prehospital settings in Thailand.

This study aims to determine the sonographic characteristics recorded by handheld ultrasounds used in prehospital care and the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasounds for prehospital patients.

A cross-sectional study was conducted on prehospital patients who underwent point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) examination on Emergency Medical Service (EMS) operations at Srinagarind Hospital, Thailand from January 2021 through December 2021. The ultrasound images, the electronic emergency department medical records, and the EMS database were recorded and reviewed by a team of emergency physicians. The quality of prehospital ultrasound examinations was assessed by comparing the diagnoses at the scene wiated with the in-hospital diagnosis.

This study shows POCUS examinations can be effectively used in prehospital care. The prehospital diagnosis given by physicians administering treatment who used POCUS examinations correlated with the in-hospital diagnosis.Copers are individuals who have had a lateral ankle sprain but have no history of recurrent lateral ankle sprain, residual symptoms, or functional disability. Copers have shown no significant difference in lower limb kinematics in landing for proactive conditions compared with a control (CTR) group. However, the copers (CPR) group has shown differences compared to CTR and chronic ankle instability (CAI) groups for dynamic balance conditions, suggesting that the trunk may compensate for foot instability during shock absorption. This study aimed to examine the differences in the kinematics and kinetics among CPR, CAI and CTR groups in reactive and proactive single-leg landing tasks. Participants were physically active adults with CAI (n = 14), CPR (n = 14), and CTR (n = 14), who performed proactive and reactive single-leg landings. The lower limb, trunk kinematics, vertical ground reaction force (vGRF) peak value, and the time to minimum peak vGRF were analysed. It might be conceivable that the CPR group could absorb vGRF efficiently by increasing the trunk flexion angle and increasing the time to reach the minimum peak vGRF regardless of landing condition. The results suggest that evaluating the movements of the entire body, including the ankle and trunk, is essential.

To explore carers' views and acceptability of internet-delivered, therapist-guided, self-help Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for family carers of people with dementia (iACT4CARERS).

A qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews was employed with family carers (N=23) taking part in a feasibility study of iACT4CARERS. The interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed and analysed using thematic analysis.

Four overarching themes were identified 1) usefulness and relevance of the content of the sessions, 2) sense of connectedness, 3) the impact of the intervention on participants and 4) acceptability of the online delivery. Positive carer experiences and intervention acceptability were facilitated by learning helpful ACT skills, perceiving the content of the session as relatable to the carers' needs, feeling connected to other carers and the therapist during the intervention, noticing the benefits of the intervention and the user-friendliness of the online platform. Recommendations for a full-scale trial were identified, such as the inclusion of some "face-to-face" interactions (e.
