The most allergenic and/or irritant ingredients included liquid detergent and soap. Additionally, patch tests identified positive reactions to methylisothiazolinone and methylchloroisothiazolinone, the preservatives used by chemical industries on preparation of glue, soap, detergents, etc.

Although slime toys might be important for improving motor development and parental relationships, homemade slime toy recipes include several allergenic and irritant ingredients which might be exposed to vulnerable children and cause intoxications. Therefore, homemade slime toys preparations should be used cautiously and under the supervision of adults.

This study aimed to evaluate food labels targeted at children and identify the concomitant presence of claims and high levels of critical nutrients and/or the presence of sweeteners. Asa secondary objective, it aimed to list different types of claims and check which marketing strategies are most used.

We collected 409 products, from 8 popular food groups targeted at children, in Brazilian market (i.e., fruit drinks, dairy drinks, sandwich cookies, cakes, breakfast cereals, jellies, corn snacks, and yogurts). The contents of critical nutrients (e.g., sugar, total fat, saturated fat, and trans-fat, and sodium) and presence/absence of sweetener were calculated, considering Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) parameters. Then,we verified the presence and types of claims in these products.

Overall, 265 (64.7%) labels presented claims. In three of the eight categories (i.e., breakfast cereals, dairy drinks, and yogurt), all products with claims (50, 34, and 34 products, respectively) had one or more nutrients in harmful concentrations (critical nutrients above PAHO's nutritional profile and/or presence of sweeteners). In the other categories, only one product (of 63 sandwich cookies and 26 breakfast cereals with claims) and three products (of 22 cakes and 28 jellies with claims) had no nutrient in critical concentration. The presence of claims, like "rich/source" of micronutrient, was predominant in seven of the eight food groups.

In the present study, there was a high presence of claims, of different types, in foods targeted at children, which, for the most part, also have excess of at least one critical nutrient, according to PAHO.

To evaluate the correlation between burden and sleep quality in caregivers of infants with cleft lip and/or palate.

This descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out in a Brazilian tertiary public hospital between March and September 2020. The sample included the main informal, literate caregivers of infants with cleft lip and/or palate, aged 18 years or older. Talabostat The instruments used were the Burden Interview Scale and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. Data were collected during the infants' hospitalization. Statistical analysis adopted Pearson and Spearman correlations, with a 5% significance level.

A total of 31 informal caregivers participated in the study, most of them mothers (n=28; 90%), with a mean age of 30 years (standard deviation - SD=7.5), low socioeconomic status (n=20; 64%), who completed high school (n=19; 61%), were married (58%), had two children (n=15; 48%), and no employment relationship (n=18; 58%). A moderate correlation was found between sleep quality and burden (r=0.39; p=0.032) and between burden and subjective sleep quality (r=0.39; p=0.029), sleep latency (r=0.43; p=0.017), and daytime dysfunction (r=0.49; p<0.001).

The study showed that the higher the burden, the lower the sleep quality. The findings indicate the need to plan and implement interventions to minimize the burden experienced by these informal caregivers in order to improve their sleep quality.

This study aimed to assess physical and mental health, and health-related quality of life (HRQL) parameters in adolescents with physical disabilities enrolled in a sports nongovernmental organization (NGO) versus adolescents without disabilities during coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

This cross-sectional study included 30 adolescents with disabilities and 86 adolescents without disabilities who responded to an online questionnaire with sociodemographic data and self-rated healthcare routine information during the COVID-19 quarantine. Validated self-report versions of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.0 (PedsQL 4.0), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and Pediatric Outcome Data Collection Instrument (PODCI) were also applied.

The median of emotional [4 (0-10) vs. 5 (0-10), p=0.018] and prosocial [7 (0-10) vs. 9 (3-10), p=0.006] problems was lower in adolescents with disabilities versus adolescents without disabilities. Adolescents h-related indicators; despite showing reduced physical function, they reported more physical activity, higher happiness, and less screen time compared to adolescents without disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aim of this study was to investigate factors associated with neonatal near miss and mortality of the live birth cohort in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2015.

Population-based retrospective cohort of live births (LB) of single pregnancy with 0-27 days of follow-up. Data were obtained from the Brazilian Live Birth and Mortality Information Systems. Logistic regressions with the analytical strategy of hierarchical determination were used for cases of near miss and deaths separately.

The cohort was composed of 85,850 LB. For every one thousand LB, about 16 were cases of near miss and six died. Maternal level of education, skin color, and age and adequacy of prenatal care were associated with neonatal near miss; for deaths, presentation of LB at delivery, birth weight, gestational age, and five-minute Apgar score are added.

Besides confirming the effect of low birth weight, prematurity, and asphyxia on neonatal death, socioeconomic vulnerability markers - low education level and brown or black skin colors - were associated with neonatal death and near miss. Absent or inadequate prenatal care showed a strong association with both outcomes, being stronger for neonatal death. Investments in the quality of prenatal care and reduction of disparities in health care are necessary in Rio de Janeiro.

This study aimed to describe the clinical characteristics and the different phenotypes of children with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) temporally related to COVID-19 and to evaluate the risk conditions that favored a greater severity of the disease during a 12-month period at a pediatric reference hospital in Colombia.

A 12-month retrospective observational study of children under the age of 18 years who met criteria for MIS-C.

A total of 28 children presented MIS-C criteria. The median age was 7 years. Other than fever (100%) (onset 4 days prior to admission), the most frequent clinical features were gastrointestinal (86%) and mucocutaneous (61%). Notably, 14 (50%) children had Kawasaki-like symptoms. The most frequent echocardiographic abnormalities were pericardial effusion (64%), valvular involvement (68%), ventricular dysfunction (39%), and coronary artery abnormalities (29%). In addition, 75% had lymphopenia. All had at least one abnormal coagulation test. Most received intravenous immunoglobulin (89%), glucocorticoids (82%), vasopressors (54%), and antibiotics (64%). Notably, 61% had a more severe form of the disease and were admitted to an intensive care unit (median 4 days, mean 6 days); the severity predictors were patients with the inflammatory/MIS-C phenotype (OR 26.5; 95%CI 1.40-503.7; p=0.029) and rash (OR 14.7; 95%CI 1.2-178.7; p=0.034). Two patients had macrophage activation syndrome.

Coronary artery abnormalities, ventricular dysfunction, and intensive care unit admission were frequent, which needs to highlight the importance of early clinical suspicion.

Our aim was to determine if the AUA-recommended prophylaxis (vancomycin + gentamicin alone) for primary inflatable penile prosthesis surgery is associated with a higher infection risk than nonstandard regimens.

We performed a multicenter, retrospective study of patients undergoing primary inflatable penile prosthesis surgery. Patients were divided into those receiving vancomycin + gentamicin alone and those receiving any other regimen. A Cox proportional-hazards model was constructed adjusted for major predictors. A subgroup analysis to identify the appropriate dosage of gentamicin was also performed.

A total of 4,161 patients underwent primary inflatable penile prosthesis placement (2,411 received vancomycin + gentamicin alone and 1,750 received other regimens). The infection rate was similar between groups, 1% vs 1.2% for standard vs nonstandard prophylaxis. In the multivariable analysis, vancomycin + gentamicin (HR 2.7, 95% CI 1.4 to 5.4,

= .004) and diabetes (HR 1.9, 95% CI 1.03 to 3.4,

= .04)r infection risk. A critical review of the recommended antimicrobial prophylactic regimens is needed. Prospective research is needed to further elucidate best practices in inflatable penile prosthesis antimicrobial prophylaxis.Monogenean infestations can cause high mortality in farmed fish and therefore significant economic losses. The present study investigated the efficacy of albendazole in therapeutic baths against monogeneans of Piaractus brachypomus Cuvier, 1818 and Megaleporinus macrocephalus (Garavello & Britski, 1988). For both fish, a 24 hours therapeutic bath with albendazole concentrations of 150, 300 and 500 mg/L were tested against monogeneans from the gills. The baths had an efficacy from 61.4 ± 32.9 (95%CI=64.5) against monogeneans of P. brachypomus, and from 95.4 ± 5.6 (95%CI=10.9) against monogeneans of M. macrocephalus. In P. brachypomus, the hepatosomatic index (HSI) in fish exposed to 150 mg/L of albendazole was higher than in fish exposed to 300 mg/L. The splenosomatic index (SSI) values in fish exposed to 150 mg/L of albendazole were lower than in fish exposed to 300 mg/L. In M. macrocephalus, the HSI and SSI values decreased in treatments with 150, 300 and 500 mg/L of albendazole to control and treat infestations by monogeneans.
