Fittings base on CDE model gives a small downward migration velocity of about 0.097 cm/y for both Pu and 137Cs. Source identification for SC14025 and SC14038 soil cores with 240Pu/239Pu (average of 0.180 ± 0.017 and 0.164 ± 0.035, respectively), 137Cs/239+240Pu (average of 25.3 ± 0.6 and 25.6 ± 3.0, respectively) and 241Am/239+240Pu (average of 0.56 ± 0.08 and 0.60 ± 0.09, respectively) ratios consistently indicated that anthropogenic radionuclides in Xilingol region are mostly from the global fallout of atmospheric nuclear weapons tests in the last century. According to the geographical distribution of the radioactivity level, the high radioactivity level in the east of Inner Mongolia probably results from enhanced deposition by the blocking of the Great Khingan Range.Food and alcohol disturbance involves restricting, purging, or excessively exercising to compensate for the calories consumed from drinking alcohol, or to enhance intoxication levels. But these compensatory behaviors, colloquially termed "drunkorexia," have only been investigated in young adult samples-primarily college students-who are presumed to be at risk due to their high episodic drinking rates. Therefore, this study sought preliminary evidence that food and alcohol disturbance occurs in a broader age-range sample of adult drinkers. We recruited 253 participants aged 18 to 76 (Mage = 38.71) from Mechanical Turk. Rates of food and alcohol disturbance (measured by the Compensatory Eating Behaviors in Response to Alcohol Consumption) were high 64% of the sample endorsed performing at least one compensatory behavior in the past three months. There were no gender differences in overall prevalence, though men were more likely than women to engage in food and alcohol disturbance to enhance intoxication levels. Drinking habits, drinking motivated by conformity, and abnormal eating attitudes were the strongest predictors of food and alcohol disturbance. However, eating attitudes were a stronger predictor of these behaviors in men than women, whilst drinking habits were a stronger predictor of these behaviors in women than men. The high prevalence of food and alcohol disturbance in our broad age-range sample, alongside the far-reaching health consequences of these behaviors, highlights the need for increased awareness in younger, middle, and older adults alike.

Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual (LGB) individuals generally experience eating disorders at higher rates than heterosexual individuals. While there is limited research examining why LGB individuals experience higher levels of eating pathology, emotion regulation (ER) deficits have been associated with higher rates of other forms of psychopathology in this population. The present study examined the impact of specific ER deficits on the relationship between LGB status and eating pathology. Daratumumab chemical structure We hypothesized that 1) LGB individuals would report higher levels of ER deficits, and 2) ER deficits would mediate the relationship between LGB status and eating pathology.

Participants were 195 LGB and 193 heterosexual adults recruited via mTurk who completed self-report measures of eating pathology and ER deficits.

One-way ANCOVA analyses revealed that LGB individuals reported higher levels of ER deficits compared to heterosexuals for all DERS subscales except for DERS-Awareness. Nearly all DERS subscales (DERS-Nonacceptanngitudinal designs to examine whether the ER deficits identified in the present study prospectively predict eating pathology. Considering the immense mental health burden placed on the LGB community, it is essential that research continue to identify the unique needs of LGB individuals to more effectively treat and prevent psychopathology, including eating disorders, in this population.Nonnutritive sweeteners (NNSs) are widely employed as dietary substitutes for classical sugars thanks to their safety profile and low toxicity. In this study, a re-evaluation of the biological effects of steviol (1), the main metabolite from Stevia rebaudiana glycosides, was performed using the Inverse Virtual Screening (IVS) target fishing computational approach. Starting from well-known pharmacological properties of Stevia rebaudiana glycosides, this computational tool was employed for predicting the putative interacting targets of 1 and, afterwards, of its five synthetic ester derivatives 2-6, accounting a large panel of proteins involved in cancer and inflammation events. Applying this methodology, the farnesoid X receptor (FXR) was identified as the putative target partner of 1-6. The predicted ligand-protein interactions were corroborated by transactivation assays, specifically disclosing the agonistic activity of 1 and the antagonistic activities of 2-6 on FXR. The reported results highlight the feasibility of IVS as a fast and potent tool for predicting the interacting targets of query compounds, addressing the re-evaluation of their bioactivity. In light of the obtained results, the presumably safe profile of known compounds, such as the case of steviol (1), is critically discussed.Prenylated or geranylated flavonoids have been studied for their promising antiproliferative and cytotoxic activities. Twelve natural geranylated flavonoids (1-12) were isolated from the fruit of Paulownia tomentosa Steud. Their structures were elucidated using UV and IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy. The absolute configurations were determined using NMR and circular dichroism. Seven of the compounds were characterized as new geranylated derivatives isolated from a natural source for the first time, namely 3'-O-methyl-5'-hydroxyisodiplacone (3), paulodiplacone A (5), tomentone II (6), tomentone B (7), tomentodiplacone P (8), paulodiplacone B (9), and tomentoflavone A (12). After 24 h of incubation at concentrations in the range 1-30 μM, the isolated compounds were tested for their antiproliferative and cytotoxic potentials against the human monocytic leukaemia cell line THP-1, using WST-1 and LDH assays, respectively. Almost all of the test compounds induced a concentration-dependent reduction in the metabolic activity of THP-1 cells and a concentration-dependent reduction in the cell viability. Diplacone (1) was the most potent antiproliferative and cytotoxic agent (IC50 9.31 ± 0.72 μM, LC50 18.01 ± 1.19 µM). 3'-O-Methyl-5'-hydroxydiplacone (2) showed relatively strong antiproliferative effect (IC50 12.61 ± 0.90 μM) and weaker cytotoxic activity (LC50 > 30 μM), indicating that it may serve as a potential lead compound for further testing. The structure-activity relationship for the 12 isolated compounds is discussed.
