In this study, the 3D motion behaviors and the underlying adaptation mechanism of planktonic Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PAO1) in response to the deposited dead siblings nearby were explored. Utilizing a real-time 3D tracking technique, digital holographic microscopy (DHM), we demonstrate that planktonic cells near the surface covered with dead siblings have a lower density and a reduced 3D velocity compared with those upon viable ones. As a sign of chemosensory responses, bacteria swimming near the dead siblings exhibit increase in frequency of the 'flick' motion. Transcriptomic analysis by RNA-seq reveals an upregulated expression of dgcM and dgcE inhibited the movement of PAO1, accompanied by increased transcriptional levels of the virulence factor-related genes hcp1, clpV1, and vgrG1. Moreover, the decrease in l-glutamate and the increase in succinic acid in the metabolites of the dead bacteria layer promote the dispersion of planktonic bacteria. As a result, the dead siblings on a surface inhibit the bacterial accumulation and activate the adaptive defensive responses of planktonic PAO1 in the vicinity.In this study, we have synthesized 99mTc intrinsically labeled ultrasmall magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles with zwitterionic surface coating (99mTc-ZW-USIONPs) via one pot synthesis using sulfobetains functionalized poly (acrylic acid) as stabilizer and Na99mTcO4 and SnCl2 as additives. The impact of measures taken to contain COVID-19 on lifestyle-related behaviour is undefined in Indian population. The current study was undertaken to assess the impact of COVID-19 on lifestyle-related behaviours eating, physical activity and sleep behaviour.

The study is a cross-sectional web-based survey. A validated questionnaire to assess the changes in lifestyle-related behaviour was administered on adults across India using a Google online survey platform.

A total of 995 responses (58.5% male, mean age 33.3 years) were collected. An improvement in healthy meal consumption pattern and a restriction of unhealthy food items was observed, especially in the younger population (age <30 years). A reduction in physical activity coupled with an increase in daily screen time was found especially among men and in upper-socio-economic strata. Quarantine induced stress and anxiety showed an increase by a unit in nearly one-fourth of the participants.

First, a 96 h-LC50 toxicity assay was performed to understand the tolerance limit of this species to iron; and was determined to be 22.07 mg/L (as Fe3+). Thereafter, to get a better insight on the fish survival during long-term exposure to high environmental iron (HEI) (5.52 mg/L, 25% of the determined 96 h-LC50 value), a suite of physio-biochemical, nitrogenous metabolic and ion-regulatory compensatory responses were examined at 7, 14, 21 and 28 days. Results showed that oxygen consumption dropped significantly at 21 and 28 days of HEI exposure. Ammonia excretion rate (Jamm) was significantly inhibited from day 14 and remained suppressed until the last exposure period. The present work used a systematic review and meta-analysis to group information from multiple studies on the selectivity of pesticides (279 commercial products) in rice, corn, soybean, apple and peach crops for immature stages (egg-larva, pre-pupa, and pupa) and adult parasitoids. The selected studies used the International Organization for Biological and Integrated Control (IOBC) methodology with the same adaptations for T. pretiosum. The meta-analysis found that corn crops had the highest frequency of tests (2 0 7). The most frequently tested active ingredients (a.i.) were glyphosate, glyphosate isopropylamine salt, and sulfur at frequencies of 41, 32 and 24 tests, respectively. The pesticides registered for rice crops showed the greatest sublethal effects on T. pretiosum, with an approximately 47% reduction in parasitism (RP) or emergence (RE). The adult stage of the parasitoid showed greater sensitivity to the tested pesticides (65% RP), in comparison to the immature stages.
