Post-treatment, 84% of late effects patients had a discussion and 57% pursued an option. Only four patients across both cohorts underwent oocyte or ovarian tissue cryopreservation. Those referred to specialist reproductive medicine clinics had more detailed documentation about fertility discussions. Nurse-led late effects clinics had a key role in facilitating post-treatment discussions. Conclusions It is important to communicate oncofertility options to AYACs repeatedly throughout treatment. Referral to specialist oncofertility services and adequate information for both sexes is important pre-treatment, and can be facilitated post-treatment by a late effects service.
Coracoclavicular (CC) ligament reconstruction is a commonly performed procedure for high-grade acromioclavicular (AC) joint separations. Although distal clavicle and coracoid process fractures represent potential complications, they have been described in only case reports and small case series.

The US Military Health System Data Repository was queried for patients with a Current Procedural Terminology code for CC ligament repair or reconstruction between October 2013 and March 2020. The electronic health records, including patient characteristics, radiographs, operative reports, and clinical notes, were evaluated for intraoperative or postoperative clavicle or coracoid fractures. Initial operative technique, fracture management, and subsequent clinical outcomes were reviewed for these patients.

Their main options are talks, videos, and virtual courses. The quality and quantity of talks, together with the level of the speakers, is variable and heterogeneous. The arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this process. The objective of this study was to analyze the result of a questionnaire on the current state of online education. Methods Retrospective descriptive observational study based on a questionnaire. The participants consulted were Latin American physicians with different specialties. Results A total of n = 361 participants were recruited. 26.9% had between 6 and 15 years of work experience. 63.1% carried out teleconsultation with their patients, and 96.1% attended between 1 and 10 talks/courses/webinar during the pandemic, whereas 1.6% did not attend any. "Talks" given received a rating of "Very Good" by 51.2%, and a 59.5% considered that the "Hybrid" option would be the best modality for future medical congresses in the postpandemic era. 84.7% considered that other possibilities of online teaching and online surgical training should be explored. Conclusion Online education has marked the way of transmitting knowledge in recent years. It has been well accepted by those attending academic meetings.
Women with breast cancer share their experiences and emotions about the illness on Instagram - a tool understudied when it comes to chronic illness. The paper characterizes the women's activities, and both online self-disclosure and social sharing of emotions concepts are used to help explain the women's practices.
Using qualitative conventional content analysis, four profiles of women are manually analysed, with posts as the unit of analysis (
= 811). Based on eleven subcategories, three broad analytical categories are introduced self-disclosure of negative information (C1), self-disclosure of positive information (C2) and disclosure of information about other people (C3).
The women post narratives about suffering resulting from cancer, and the fears they experience. Also, the posts relate to positive emotions, joyful life events, self-acceptance, or self-affirmation. While writing, the women share information about people supporting them on their way to recovery.

Risk of such infections at the population level remains unknown. This study assessed the post-surgical risk of invasive Staphylococcus aureus infections among patients undergoing elective posterior instrumented spinal fusion surgeries in 129 U.S. hospitals. Patients and Methods This retrospective cohort study analyzed adult patients ≥18 years of age who underwent thoracolumbar/lumbar and cervical fusion surgeries during 2010 - 2014 using the Premier Healthcare Database, the largest hospital discharge database in the United States. Risks of blood stream infection (BSI), deep or organ/space surgical site infections (SSI) caused by Staphylococcus aureus during 90 and 180 days post-index surgery were estimated. Infections were identified based on positive culture results, related International Classification of Diseases, Nifindings highlight the need for additional measures, in addition to antibiotic prophylaxis, to reduce invasive Staphylococcus aureus infections in this setting.
Meniscal deficiency has been reported to increase contact pressures in the affected tibiofemoral joint, possibly leading to degenerative changes. Current surgical options include meniscal allograft transplantation and insertion of segmental meniscal scaffolds. Little is known about segmental meniscal allograft transplantation.
To evaluate the effectiveness of segmental medial meniscal allograft transplantation in the setting of partial medial meniscectomy in restoring native knee loading characteristics.
Controlled laboratory study.
Ten fresh-frozen human cadaveric knees underwent central midbody medial meniscectomy and subsequent segmental medial meniscal allograft transplantation. Knees were loaded in a dynamic tensile testing machine to 1000 N for 20 seconds at 0°, 30°, 60°, and 90° of flexion. Four conditions were tested (1) intact medial meniscus, (2) deficient medial meniscus, (3) segmental medial meniscal transplant fixed with 7 meniscocapsular sutures, and (4) segmental medial meniscal transplibution across testing conditions.
Segmental medial meniscal allograft transplantation restored the medial compartment mean contact pressure and mean contact area to values measured in the intact medial compartment.
Segmental medial meniscal transplantation may provide an alternative to full meniscal transplantation by addressing only the deficient portion of the meniscus with transplanted tissue. Additional work is required to validate long-term fixation strength and biologic integration.

Additional work is required to validate long-term fixation strength and biologic integration.Background Venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VV-ECMO) for select adults with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) cause by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection is a guideline-supported therapy with associated hospital survival of 62%-74%, similar to expected survival with VV-ECMO for other indications. However, ECMO is a resource-heavy intervention, and these patients often require long ECMO runs and prolonged intensive care unit (ICU) care. Identifying factors associated with mortality in VV-ECMO patients with COVID-19 infection can inform the evaluation of ECMO candidates as well as prognostication for those patients on prolonged VV-ECMO. Patients and Methods This was a retrospective cohort study that included all patients who received either VV- or venoarteriovenous (VAV)-ECMO at one of four ECMO Centers of Excellence in the state of Minnesota between March 1, 2020 and November 1, 2020. The primary outcome was 60-day survival. Secondary outcomes were hospital complicatioV-ECMO for COVID-19 infection and subsequent ARDS.
