In vitro antiproliferative activity of SB-2 was screened against HT-29 (colorectal) and HeLa (cervical) human tumor cell lines by MTT assay. SB-2 diminished the cell viability in a concentration- and incubation time-dependent manner. Curcumin has been reported to play a suppressive role in PCO progression, and the potential molecular mechanism was explored in this study. Methods Cell viability and proliferation were analyzed by 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay and 5-Ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EdU) assay. Transwell assay and wound healing assay were performed to assess cell invasion and migration abilities. Western blot assay and reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) were conducted to measure the expression of proteins and RNAs. Dual-luciferase reporter assay and RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) assay were conducted to confirm the interaction between microRNA-377-3p (miR-377-3p) and KCNQ1 opposite strand/antisense transcript 1 (KCNQ1OT1) or collagen type I alpha 2 chain (COL1A2). Results Curcumin dose-dependently alleviated transforming growth factor-β2 (TGF-β2)-induced proliferation, migration, and invasion in SRA01/04 cells. KCNQ1OT1 was up-regulated in PCO patients and TGF-β2-induced SRA01/04 cells. Curcumin-induced protective effects in TGF-β2-induced SRA01/04 cells were largely overturned by KCNQ1OT1 overexpression. Patients & methods 16 adults ages 36-80 with PD participated in the intervention for 12 weeks. The study provided pre-post-study comparisons of biomarkers, weight, waist measurement, united Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), Parkinson's Anxiety Scale (PAS) and Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale Revised-20 (CESD-R-20) Depression Scale. Results Although LCHF/KD improves blood glucose in diabetes and seizure control in epilepsy, research gaps exist in this dietary intervention in PD. Statistically, significant improvements occurred in several measurements, PAS scores and Part I of the UPDRS. Conclusion The LCHF/KD shows positive trends with improvements in biomarkers and anxiety symptoms. Further research is needed to evaluate dietary interventions for PD.

To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of using off-the-shelf "Octopus" technique to treat ruptured or symptomatic thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) and pararenal abdominal aortic aneurysm (PRAAA).

All cases who underwent "Octopus" technique from May 2016 to May 2019 at our center were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 10 cases (8 males) were included. The mean age was 54.5±14.2 years (range 31-80 years). Eight cases presented as aneurysm rupture or impending rupture accepted emergency repair. Technical success, defined by placement of all endografts as planned, was achieved in all cases. A total of 30 target visceral branches were successfully cannulated, 9 celiac arteries were covered intentionally. Intraoperative endoleak was observed in 6 patients, all of them were gutter leak. During hospital stay, there was no death, no side branch occlusion or spinal cord ischemia. Median follow-up was 30 months (range 12-50 months). One patient died of lung cancer at 14-month follow-up. There was no secnd safe for high surgical risk patients in the absence of fenestrated and branched devices. The long-term clinical outcomes needed to be investigated.

To identify the incidence of TIT associated with teicoplanin dosing range (6-12 mg/kg/dose) and the risk factors of TIT.

This retrospective observational study included adult patients who received teicoplanin for ≥3 consecutive days over a period of 3.5 years. Thrombocytopenia was defined as a platelet count of <100 × 10

/µL coupled with at least a 25% drop from the baseline count. The TIT incidence was assessed using the adverse drug reaction probability scale (Naranjo scale).

Data from 482 patients who received teicoplanin and met the predefined inclusion criteria were included in the analyses. The cohort presented a mean age of 53.5 ± 19 years, where 72.4% were male, and 49.2% exhibited normal baseline renal function. Teicoplanin was most commonly used for bacteremia (n = 134), and the most common isolated pathogen being

(n = 221). The TIT incidence was 4.6% (the possible and probable category using the Naranjo scale; 22/482). The median time to first platelet count dropped to <100 × 10

/µL after teicoplanin initiation was 5 (interquartile range [IQR], 3-10) days and 8 (IQR, 5-14) days till the maximum platelet count dropped. None of the tested patient variables were found to be independently associated with an increased risk of thrombocytopenia.

The overall TIT incidence was low across our study cohort, including critically ill patients. Our study results may aid in the optimal monitoring of such serious teicoplanin-induced adverse effects.
