In a time of instability caused by adolescence, sport may represent a resource to prevent future individual and social problems. Within the complex relationships developed in social sports contexts, the figure of the coach can be fundamental for the development of a beneficial environment. The objective of the research was to investigate the relationship between the teaching methods and leadership profile of the coach and outcomes on the perception of positive development of young people participating in an after school sports program. In total participated, 910 adolescents (14.0 ± 1.8 years) and 57 coaches (45.57 ± 7.25 years) in 37 public schools in the city of Curitiba, in the state of Paraná-Brazil. Ordinal logistic regression was used to verify the independent associations between the variables sex, category, sport, trainer methodology, perception of the coaches, and perception of the athletes with the tertiles of the scores of each developmental characteristic of the young athletes (personal and social kills and game strategies. The combination of the designated psych-pedagogical aspects is correlated to the positive development of young people through team sports.Volleyball is a team sport with high physical and perceptual-cognitive demand, hence, increasing the perception of physical and mental fatigue during a competition. To alleviate fatigue (physical and mental), mindfulness and music have been proposed. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of mindfulness-based mental versus music training on mental fatigue, physical fatigue, and recovery in elite competitive female volleyball athletes using a randomized two-controlled study with follow-up. Participants were 30 elite female Brazilian volleyball athletes. Athletes were randomly assigned to the following groups 1) mindfulness-based mental training group (MBMT); 2) music-based training group (MBT); or 3) control group (CG). Three variables were evaluated as follows 1) recovery based on total quality recovery; 2) mental fatigue visual analog scale; and 3) physical fatigue visual analog scale. Regarding recovery, there was no difference between the MBMT, MBT, and CG groups (p > 0.05). A difference in mental fatigue was noted between MBT and CG at follow-up [F(2,26) = 5.71, p = 0.009; large]. Regarding physical fatigue, there was no difference between the MBMT, MBT, and CG groups (p > 0.05). The mindfulness intervention effectively attenuated the mental fatigue caused by competition in volleyball athletes. 2-Bromohexadecanoic inhibitor These results will assist coaches and staff in providing fatigue management and reinforce the applicability of mental training in sports.Uraemic Cardiomyopathy (UC) is recognised as an intricate and multifactorial disease which portends a significant burden in patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). The cardiovascular morbidity and mortality associated with UC is significant and can be associated with the development of arrythmias, cardiac failure and sudden cardiac death (SCD). The pathophysiology of UC involves a complex interplay of traditional implicative factors such as haemodynamic overload and circulating uraemic toxins as well as our evolving understanding of the Chronic Kidney Disease-Mineral Bone Disease pathway. There is an instrumental role for multi-modality imaging in the diagnostic process; including transthoracic echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging in identifying the hallmarks of left ventricular hypertrophy and myocardial fibrosis that characterise UC. The appropriate utilisation of the aforementioned diagnostics in the ESRD population may help guide therapeutic approaches, such as pharmacotherapy including beta-blockers and aldosterone-antagonists as well as haemodialysis and renal transplantation. Despite this, there remains limitations in effective therapeutic interventions for UC and ongoing research on a cellular level is vital in establishing further therapies.

To illustrate the utility of a newly developed culturally safe and clinically relevant subjective daytime sleepiness assessment tool "Top End Sleepiness Scale" (TESS) for use among Indigenous Australians.

The TESS questionnaire consists of pictorial representations of 6 items representing daily activities that would induce daytime sleepiness specific for Indigenous Australians living in the regional and remote Australia. Consecutive adult Indigenous patients who consented to pilot the TESS questionnaire prior to undergoing a diagnostic polysomnography (PSG) at the Top End Health Service region, Northern Territory of Australia were assessed. The TESS questionnaire was evaluated for its correlation in predicting obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) according to apnea-hypopnea index.

Eighty-two patients were included. The majority (70%) had moderate to severe OSA (AHI ≥15). Patients were aged in their mid-40's (45.47 95% CI (42.9, 48.05)) with a tendency to obesity (median BMI 33.67 IQR 30.86, 38.95) and a high pers among Indigenous people.

Currently, there are no subjective daytime sleepiness assessment toll available specifically for Indigenous population. The proposed TESS sleepiness screening tool represented in this study can potentially complement or adopted alongside other existing questionnaire, which may offer greater utility in the assessment of sleep disorders among Indigenous people.

Menstruation is a natural event that is a physiological and psychological milestone in women's reproductive life. But Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) continues to be a monthly challenge for adolescent girls in low-income countries, including Ethiopia harming their school attendance, health, and daily life. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the practice of MHM and associated factors in central Ethiopia.

School-based cross-sectional study was employed among preparatory and high schools in Holeta Town from May 01 to 20, 2019. A systematic random sampling method was used to select study subjects. Data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS version 23. Both bivariate and multivariable logistic regression were carried out to identify associated factors.

From a total of 403 respondents, 72.5% of school adolescents had good overall knowledge about menstruation and only 34.7% had adequate MHM practice. The study identified adolescents from urban residence (AOR=2.
