rative frozen section diagnosis was 60% higher in the experimental group than the control group. Conclusion PSP has characteristic imaging manifestations, which can be utilized to improve the preoperative and intraoperative diagnostic coincidence rate of PSP.Cancer has been regarded as one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide. Diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers with high sensitivity and specificity for cancer play a crucial role in preventing or treating cancer. Circular RNAs (circRNAs), which hold great potential for the management of cancer patients due to their abundance, stable property, and high specificity in serum, plasma, and other body fluids, can be used as non-invasive and blood-based biomarkers in cancer diagnosis and prognosis. There are four types of circRNAs including exonic circRNAs (ecircRNA), intronic circRNAs, exon-intron circRNAs (EIciRNA), and intergenic circRNAs. CircRNAs can act as miRNA sponges, affect protein translation, interplay with RNA binding proteins, regulate protein recruitment, and modulate protein scaffolding and assembly. Therefore, the multifunctionalities of circRNAs make them ideal for detecting and predicting cancer. Indeed, circRNAs manifest high sensitivity and specificity in more than ten types of cancer. This review aims to consolidate the types and functions of circRNAs, as well as discuss the diagnostic and prognostic value of circulating circRNAs in cancer.Aim of the Study The aim was to compare cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) quality of an automated external defibrillator (AED) with and without additional video instruction during basic life support (BLS) by laypersons. Methods First-year medical students were randomized either to an AED with audio only or audio with additional video instructions during CPR. Each student performed 4 min of single-rescuer chest compression only BLS on a manikin (Ambu Man C, Ballerup, Denmark) using the AED. The primary outcome was the effective compression ratio during this scenario. This combined parameter was used to evaluate the quality of chest compressions by multiplying compressions with correct depth, correct hand position, and complete decompression by flow time. Secondary outcomes were percentages of incomplete decompression and hand position, mean compression rate, time-related parameters, and subjective assessments. Results Effective compression ratio did not differ between study groups in the overall sample (p = 0.337) or in students with (p = 0.953) or without AED experience (p = 0.278). Additional video instruction led to a higher percentage of incorrect decompressions (p = 0.014). No significant differences could be detected in time-related resuscitation parameters. An additional video was subjectively rated as more supporting (p = 0.001). Conclusions Audio-video instructions did not significantly improve resuscitation quality in these laypersons despite that it was felt more supportive. An additional video to the verbal AED prompts might lead to cognitive overload. Lificiguat Therefore, future studies might target the influence of the video content and the potential benefits of video instructions in specific populations. Background Tuberculous pleurisy (TBP) is a common clinical type of tuberculosis (TB) in China. TBP is difficult to diagnose. Whether the mononuclear cell/leukocyte (MNC/LEU) ratio in pleural effusion can contribute to accurate TBP diagnosis remains yet unclear. Objective To explore the diagnostic value of MNC/LEU ratio in pleural effusion for TBP in China. Methods This study was a retrospective case-control study involving 406 patients with pleural effusion of unknown cause who were hospitalized at the Henan Provincial People's Hospital. Using histopathological examination of thoracoscopic pleural biopsy as the gold standard for TBP diagnosis, a final total of 215 subjects were included in this study including 91 cases of TBP and 124 cases of non-TBP. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of pleural effusion MNC/LEU ratio for TBP diagnosis was plotted and the area under curve (AUC) and the optimal cutoff value were determined. In addition, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the MNC/LEU ratio at the optimal cutoff value for TBP diagnosis were also evaluated. Results The MNC/LEU ratio was significantly higher in TB pleural effusion [95.9% (89.7-98.0%)] than in non-TB pleural effusion [77.8% (39.3-93.2%)] (P less then 0.001). The AUC was 0.776 (95% CI, 0.714-0.830), and the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy for TBP diagnosis at the 93.7% cutoff value were 64.83%, 79.03%, and 0.730, respectively. Conclusion The pleural effusion MNC/LEU ratio may be a new and valuable laboratory indicator for the diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy in China. Objective This study was intended to investigate the relationship between COVID-19 disease and ovarian function in reproductive-aged women. Methods Female COVID-19 patients of reproductive age were recruited between January 28 and March 8, 2020 from Tongji Hospital in Wuhan. Their baseline and clinical characteristics, as well as menstrual conditions, were recorded. Differentials in ovarian reserve markers and sex hormones (including anti-Müllerian hormone [AMH], follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH], the ratio of FSH to luteinizing hormone [LH], estradiol [E2], progesterone [P], testosterone [T], and prolactin [PRL] were compared to those of healthy women who were randomly selected and individually matched for age, region, and menstrual status. Uni- and multi-variable hierarchical linear regression analyses were performed to identify risk factors associated with ovarian function in COVID-19 women. Results Seventy eight patients agreed to be tested for serum hormone, of whom 17 (21.79%) were diagnosed as the sevdependent risk factor for ovarian function, which accounted for 3.2% of the decline in AMH, 14.3% of the increase in T, and 20.7% of the increase in PRL. Conclusion Ovarian injury, including declined ovarian reserve and reproductive endocrine disorder, can be observed in women with COVID-19. More attention should be paid to their ovarian function under this pandemic, especially regarding reproductive-aged women. Clinical Trial Number ChiCTR2000030015.
