Mechanical ventilation is a life-saving therapy for critically ill patients, providing rest to the respiratory muscles and facilitating gas exchange in the lungs. This study aimed to explore the challenges, practices, and organizational support dealt with by nursing managers in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A qualitative content analysis study evaluated 35 nursing managers in five university hospitals through a semi-structured interview. The Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research were used for this qualitative study.

Three main themes emerged Challenges include the development of a COVID-19 crisis management plan, a shortage in nursing staff, and psychological problems. Practices include; changes in work schedules for nursing staff, the exchange process, hospital preparation, and training and education. And organizational support includes both support at an organizational level and support at an individual level.

This study revealed that nursing managers are faced with many challenges in the management of COVID-19, requiring good practices and organizational support. This study offers evidence for nursing managers to expect problems that may arise during the pandemic.

The aim of this study was to investigate the associations of intraflagellar transport protein 20 (IFT20) and Golgi matrix protein 130 (GM130) expression with clinicopathological features and survival in patients with lung adenocarcinoma.

The expressions of IFT20 and GM130 protein in cancerous and matched adjacent lung tissues of 235 patients with lung adenocarcinoma were assessed by tissue microarray and immunohistochemistry, which were indicated by the mean optical density (IOD/area), the rate of positive staining cells and staining intensity score. The correlation between IFT20 and GM130 protein was assessed by Spearman's rank correlation. Associations of IFT20 and GM130 protein expression with clinicopathological features of patients were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression models. The self-assembling process of cartilage tissue engineering is a promising technique to heal cartilage defects, preventing osteoarthritic changes. Given that chondrocytes dedifferentiate when expanded, it is not known if cellular expansion affects the development of self-assembled neocartilage. The objective of this study was to use proteomic, mechanical, and biochemical analyses to quantitatively investigate the development of self-assembled neocartilage derived from passaged, rejuvenated costal chondrocytes.
