A variety of minimally invasive surgical approaches are available as an alternative to transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) for management of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Prostatic arterial embolization (PAE) is a relatively new, minimally invasive treatment approach.

To assess the effects of PAE compared to other procedures for treatment of LUTS in men with BPH.

We performed a comprehensive search using multiple databases (The Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, Embase, LILACS, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar), trials registries, other sources of grey literature, and conference proceedings with no restrictions on language of publication or publication status, up until 25 September 2020.

We included parallel-group randomized controlled trials (RCTs), as well as non-randomized studies (NRS, limited to prospective cohort studies with concurrent comparison groups) enrolling men over the age of 40 with LUTSattributed to BPH undergoing PAE ce ejaculatory disorders. Longer term (follow-up of 13 to 24 months), we are very uncertain as to how both procedures compare with regard to urologic symptom scores, but quality of life appears to be similar. We are very uncertain about major adverse events but PAE may increase re-treatments. We did not find longer term evidence on erectile function and ejaculatory disorders. Certainty of evidence for the main outcomes of this review was low or very low, signalling that our confidence in the reported effect size is limited or very limited, and that this topic should be better informed by future research.

Respiratory morbidity including respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) is a serious complication of preterm birth and the primary cause of early neonatal mortality and disability. Despite early evidence indicating a beneficial effect of antenatal corticosteroids on fetal lung maturation and widespread recommendations to use this treatment in women at risk of preterm delivery, some uncertainty remains about their effectiveness particularly with regard to their use in lower-resource settings, different gestational ages and high-risk obstetric groups such as women with hypertension or multiple pregnancies. This updated review (which supersedes an earlier review Crowley 1996) was first published in 2006 and subsequently updated in 2017.

To assess the effects of administering a course of corticosteroids to women prior to anticipated preterm birth (before 37 weeks of pregnancy) on fetal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, maternal mortality and morbidity, and on the child in later life.

We searched the Cochranes from published trials are likely to provide answers for most of the remaining clinical uncertainties.

Pregnancy planning allows women to engage in pregnancy planning behaviors to optimize health status in the preconception period. Women with chronic medical conditions have a higher risk for adverse pregnancy outcomes and therefore preconception care is recommended. The aim was to compare pregnancy planning among women with and without chronic medical conditions, and to assess adherence to the recommended pregnancy planning behaviors on folic acid intake, physical activity and abstention from smoking and alcohol, among women with and without chronic medical conditions stratified by pregnancy planning.

A cross-sectional study with data from 28794 pregnancies. Pregnancy planning was measured with the Swedish Pregnancy Planning Scale. Multiple Poisson regression with robust variance estimates was used to assess the associations between chronic medical condition (yes/no and main categories) and pregnancy planning, and chronic medical condition status and pregnancy planning behaviors stratified by pregnancy pla acid and abstention from alcohol intake). Only women with mental illness and type 2 diabetes reported a lower degree of pregnancy planning. It is important that we continuously address pregnancy planning and planning behaviors for both women with and women without chronic medical conditions, especially women with type 2 diabetes and mental illness.

Overall, pregnancies were highly planned. Women with chronic medical conditions did not show a higher degree of pregnancy planning than women without chronic medical conditions but were, however. more likely to adhere to the generally recommended pregnancy planning behaviors (ie intake of folic acid and abstention from alcohol intake). Only women with mental illness and type 2 diabetes reported a lower degree of pregnancy planning. It is important that we continuously address pregnancy planning and planning behaviors for both women with and women without chronic medical conditions, especially women with type 2 diabetes and mental illness. The present study aimed to discern the molecular alterations involved in the progression of EGFR-mutated lung adenocarcinoma (LADC). We previously demonstrated that the micropapillary (mPAP) element is the most important histological factor for assessing malignant grades in LADCs. Therefore, mPAP and other elements were separately collected from three cases of EGFR-mutated LADC using laser capture microdissection and subjected to a comprehensive mRNA expression analysis. We focused on DYRK2 in this study because its level showed a substantial increase in EGFR-mutated LADCs with mPAP. We also immunohistochemically examined 130 tumors for the expression of DYRK2. The results confirmed a strong expression of DYRK2 in EGFR-mutated LADC with mPAP. Fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) analyses targeting the DYRK2 locus revealed frequent gene amplification in EGFR-mutated LADC, specifically occurring in the high-grade components, like mPAP. In summary, the results of this study suggest that DYRK2 overexpression through gene amplification is one of the molecular mechanisms responsible for promoting the progression of EGFR-mutated LADC.

The aim of this study was to investigate the accuracy of implant position of robotic-arm assisted total hip arthroplasty (THA) via the direct anterior approach (DAA).

All patients who underwent robotic-arm assisted DAA THA (MAKO Surgical Corp., Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) from November 2018 to January 2020 were prospectively followed up. Pelvis indices (limb length discrepancy, femoral and hip offset, implant inclination, and anteversion), surgical duration, length of stay, and complications were recorded. To further evaluate the accuracy of robotic-arm assisted THA, patients who underwent manual DAA THA by the same surgeon were match-paired with the study group.

Twenty-five patients underwent robotic-arm assisted DAA THR. buy STA-9090 Limb length discrepancy was restored to 0.1mm (±3.4mm) from 10.0mm (±6.4mm) postoperatively. Preoperatively, the difference in femoral offset was 5.1mm (±5.1mm), and this was corrected to 1.9mm (±6.5mm) postoperatively. Nine cases had target inclination of 40° and mean inclination achieved was 40.
