Timely delivery of fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a balance between avoiding stillbirth and minimising prematurity. We sought to assess the neonatal outcomes for babies suspected of FGR, both true and false positives.

This population cohort study examined all singleton births in Victoria, Australia from 2000 to 2017 (n = 1 231 415). Neonatal morbidities associated with neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission were assessed for babies born ≥32 weeks' with severe FGR (<3rd centile) and babies with birthweight ≥10th centile who were iatrogenically delivered for suspected FGR.

Babies with severe FGR iatrogenically delivered for suspected FGR were more likely to require NICU admission than babies with severe FGR who were not detected (3.0% vs. 1.1%, P < 0.001). After adjusting for potential confounders, the odds of NICU admission were increased (adjusted odds ratio (aOR) = 3.00, 95% confidence interval = 2.45-3.67; P < 0.001). Rates of NICU admission were also higher in ≥10th centile babies iatrogenically delivered for suspected FGR than for ≥10th centile babies who entered labour spontaneously (1.8% vs. 0.5%, P < 0.001). After adjustments, the odds of NICU admission were increased (aOR = 3.91, 95% confidence interval = 3.40-4.49; P < 0.001). NICU admissions were associated with morbidities related to iatrogenic prematurity.

Buccal carcinoma was induced by treatment with carcinogenic DMBA, three times a week for 14 weeks. We determined 100% tumor incidence, abnormal tumor volume, inclined tumor burden, and deduced body weight in DMBA-induced oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) hamsters. The upregulation of cytokine levels (interleukin [IL]-6, IL-1β, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha [TNF-α]) was observed in DMBA-induced OSCC hamsters. Moreover, dysplastic, hyperplastic, and squamous cell carcinoma was identified in the DMBA-induced OSCC hamsters. The diminished activities of lipid peroxidation and enzymatic/nonenzymatic antioxidants were observed in DMBA-induced hamsters. Furthermore, the high expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), Cyclin-D1, and Bcl-2, and attenuated Bax expression were observed in DMBA-induced hamsters. Our study results explored that Vicenin-2 (30 mg/kg) treated with DMBA-brushed hamsters averted tumor incidence, improved the antioxidant status, and inhibited lipid peroxidation. Specific and sensitive diagnostic assays of NCLs were the main goal of this study. They are of increasing importance, particularly since enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) for NCL2 has recently become available for clinical treatment, and ERTs for further NCLs are under development. Here, we report specific and sensitive determinations for CLN1, CLN2, and CLN10 on dried blood spots by tandem mass spectrometry using multiple reaction monitoring mass spectrometry (MRM-MS). The accuracy of the National Task Group-Early Detection Screen for Dementia (NTG-EDSD) was evaluated in a sample of 185 adults with Down syndrome (DS), emphasizing 'mild cognitive impairment (MCI-DS)'.

Services have a duty to uphold the personal and sexual relationship (P&SR) rights of adults with intellectual disability. However, little is known about how social care workers' (SCWs) perceptions of public views of intellectual disability and sexuality might affect their attitudes, believes and behaviours towards supporting P&SR needs. This exploratory study addresses this gap in knowledge.

Qualitative interviews using critical incident technique were conducted with 18 SCWs. Data were transcribed and thematically analysed.
