Copyright © 2020 American Chemical Society.Charge transfer at organic/inorganic interfaces critically influences the properties of molecular adlayers. Although for metals such charge transfers are well documented by experimental and theoretical results, in the case of semiconductors, clear and direct evidence for a transfer of electrons or holes from oxides with their typically high ionization energy is missing. Here, we present data from infrared reflection-absorption spectroscopy demonstrating that despite a high ionization energy, electrons are transferred from ZnO into a prototype strong molecular electron acceptor, hexafluoro-tetracyano-naphthoquinodimethane (F6-TCNNQ). Because there are no previous studies of this type, the interpretation of the pronounced vibrational red shifts observed in the experiment was aided by a thorough theoretical analysis using density functional theory. The calculations reveal that two mechanisms govern the pronounced vibrational band shifts of the adsorbed molecules electron transfer into unoccupied molecular levels of the organic acceptor and also the bonding between the surface Zn atoms and the peripheral cyano groups. These combined experimental data and the theoretical analysis provide the so-far missing evidence of interfacial electron transfer from high ionization energy inorganic semiconductors to molecular acceptors and indicates that n-doping of ZnO plays a crucial role. Although surgical treatment was not performed because of the patients' nonconsenting, any other cause for the hypertension was not found by extensive work-up, supports the notion that it was either secondary to nutcracker phenomenon or idiopathic. © 2020 The Authors. It arises from the smooth muscle cells of the kidney and renal capsule is its most common location. Small tumor may be asymptomatic and usually appears as a well circumscribed peripherally located solid mass. Large tumor may manifest with pain, palpable flank mass or hematuria. Intersecting fascicles of spindle cells showing immunoreactivity to actin or desmin are characteristic histologic features. We present a case of giant renal leiomyoma in a 20-year-old female with chief complaints of abdominal discomfort and lump in her left side of abdomen. AP radiograph showed a large abdominopelvic soft tissue opacity. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan revealed a massive well circumscribed exophytic complex solid cystic mass of size 17 cm × 15 cm × 13 cm arising from upper pole of left kidney. The role of percutaneous biopsy is limited in such lesions and surgery is the only therapeutic option. © 2020 The Authors. Seventy-four-year-old male presented to emergency department with worsening right upper quadrant abdominal pain with dyspnea. EGFR phosphorylation Contrast-enhanced computed tomography of the abdomen demonstrated lobulated mass in right hemidiaphragm exhibiting mass effects to adjacent structures compressing gall bladder. Magnetic resonance imaging of the abdomen showed diaphragmatic mass with heterogeneous signal intensities with partial diffusion restriction. Surgical removal was performed and histology confirmed dedifferentiated liposarcoma arising from the diaphragm with gall bladder invasion. © 2020 The Authors. We present finding on MR imaging in 2 adult Italian siblings. According to the literature we have described same of typical MRI finding of autosomal recessive spastic ataxia of Charlevoix-Saguenay disease. We found slight differences in neuroimaging pattern in our patients with a similar genotype but different age and clinical severity, this suggest that brain MRI may provide potential biomarkers to assess disease progression. © 2020 Published by Elsevier Inc. on behalf of University of Washington.Pulmonary adenomyomas are rare adenomyomatous hamartomas. In the few cases described in the literature, these benign tumors are encapsulated by lung parenchyma. We describe a case of a 59 year-old woman with acetylcholine receptor antibody-negative myasthenia gravis and a right cardiophrenic mass initially thought to be a thymoma. Histopathology surprisingly revealed a pulmonary adenomyoma which involved the mediastinal fat at the cardiophrenic angle. © 2020 The Authors.Acute tears or ruptures of the brachialis muscle are rare events, with only 10 cases reported to date and all of which have been in adults. We report a case of an acute, complete tear of brachialis in an 8-year-old female that occurred while the patient was practicing a gymnastic move. Although rare, this case underscores the need to include brachialis tears in the differential diagnosis for musculoskeletal injuries at the elbow in all age groups. © 2020 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Inc. on behalf of University of Washington.Tumor-induced osteomalacia (TIO) is a rare disease in which patients suffer from fractures and progressive disabling bone pain and muscle weakness. TIO is caused by the hypersecretion of Fibroblast Growth Factor 23 (FGF23) from rare neoplasms of mesenchymal origin. This case report describes a 29-year-old male with 2 years of low back/hip pain, gait changes, proximal muscle weakness, and multiple stress fractures. Bone densitometry was remarkable for severe osteoporosis, hypophosphatemia was seen on routine labs, and advanced labs demonstrated an "inappropriately normal" FGF23 level. A 68Ga-DOTATATE scan and MRI showed a 1.3 × 1.1 × 1.0 cm intracranial mass. The patient underwent tumor resection by Neurosurgery. Shortly after, laboratory levels normalized, and the patient's symptoms improved drastically. This case exemplifies the notion that TIO can be caused by FGF23 levels within normal limits, the role of 68-Ga DOTATATE imaging for establishing a diagnosis, and that these tumors can arise anywhere-even intracranially. We also review current surgical and nonsurgical treatment options, as well as emerging novel therapeutics. © 2020 The Authors. This occurs secondary to chronic inflammation from performing spinning dance moves on the head. We present the radiological findings of the "Headspin Hole" in a 38-year-old male with a history of breakdancing. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a cone-shaped deformity on the vertex of the skull with deep scalp thickening adjacent to the outer-table cortex. Currently in the literature, there is no description of the radiological findings of this cone-shaped deformity on the vertex of the skull, we refer to this as the "Cone-Head Sign." © 2020 The Authors. We report a case of RDD with paravertebral and intraspinal epidural involvement in a 24-year-old male Bangladeshi patient who presented with progressive bilateral lower limb weakness for 20 days duration associated with spasticity and muscle spasm. MRI demonstrated an enhancing paravertebral soft tissue lesion extending from C7 through T4 with intraspinal epidural extension encasing the spinal cord with focal cord oedema. Histopathology of the paraspinal-epidural lesion reported a finding consistent with RDD. The patient was initiated on high-dose steroids. Follow up after 2 months demonstrated symptomatic improvement as the patient was able to move on the crutch and repeated MRI showed lesion regression. © 2020 The Authors. We report a case of incidentally detected isolated celiac artery dissection during computed tomography evaluation for occult gastrointestinal bleeding. Though most cases of isolated celiac artery dissection are initially managed conservatively with antiplatelet and anticoagulants, some patients may require endovascular or occasionally surgical treatment. In our case, the celiac artery dissection had already progressed to cause hepatic artery occlusion and secondary collateral formation in the porta hepatis region. We retrospectively analyze the natural course of celiac artery dissection with hepatic artery occlusion in an asymptomatic patient for over 3 years. © 2020 The Authors. Secondary prevention and treatment of post-MI patients through medication and lifestyle modification is becoming an important aspect of patient care regimens. Pharmacists have a crucial role in providing these disease-prevention interventions compared with other health care professionals. Objectives The primary objective included evaluation of clinical pharmacist interventions at discharge and post-MI discharge follow-up to improve the secondary lifestyle modifications and medication adherence among post-MI patients. The secondary objective included the prevention of hospital readmission rates for major adverse cardiovascular events and death among post-MI patients. Methods In this prospective interventional study comprising 160 screened patients, 154 patients were randomized according to eligibility criteria of whom 77 were enrolled in Group A (the intervention group clinical care along with in Group A and 53.93 (13.26) years in Group B. Ther were more male patients than female patients in the study population. There was a statistically significant reduction in systolic and diastolic BP in Group A (P ˃ 0.0031 and P ˃ 0.0069, respectively) compared with Group B. Reduction in total cholesterol levels were observed in Group A compared with Group B (P ˃ 0.0001) patients, but there were no significant reductions found in lipid profile values, including LDL-C (P ˃ 0.0669), HDL-C (P ˃ 0.595), triglyceride (P ˃ 0.119), and VLDL-C (P ˃ 0.4215) at follow-up. Group A patients were more adherent to the medications with lower hospital readmission rates compared with Group B. Conclusions Clinical pharmacist counseling improved the medication adherence and lifestyle modifications in post-MI patients with the reduction in blood glucose levels, blood pressure, and total cholesterol levels among the study population. © 2020 Published by Elsevier Inc.Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Saudi males and ranks third in females with up to 73% of cases diagnosed at late stage. This review provides an analysis of CRC situation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) from healthcare perspective. A PUBMED (1986-2018) search was done to identify publications focusing on CRC in KSA. Due to reports of increased CRC incidence among young age group ( less then 50), and given the young population of KSA, the disease may burden the national healthcare system in the next decades. Environmental factors attributed to increasing incidence rates of CRC include red meat consumption, sedentary lifestyle, and increased calorie intake. Despite substantial investment in healthcare, attention to predictive diagnostics and targeted prevention is lacking. There is a need to develop national screening guidelines based on evidence that supports a reduction in incidence and mortality of CRC when screening is implemented. Future approaches are discussed based on multi-level diagnostics, risk assessment, and population screening programs focused on the needs of young populations that among others present the contents of the advanced approach by predictive, preventive, and personalized medicine.
