The median survival time after initial therapy for patients with novel agents was 56.4 months and 3-year overall survival (OS) was 70.4%. In multivariate analysis, ISS stage I/II disease and PR or better response to initial treatment, and autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) were identified as independent prognostic factors for overall survival (OS).Despite its importance in cardiovascular diseases and engineering applications, turbulence in pulsatile pipe flow remains little comprehended. Important advances have been made in the recent years in understanding the transition to turbulence in such flows, but the question remains of how turbulence behaves once triggered. In this paper, we explore the spatiotemporal intermittency of turbulence in pulsatile pipe flows at fixed Reynolds and Womersley numbers (Re=2400, Wo=8) and different pulsation amplitudes. Direct numerical simulations (DNS) were performed according to two strategies. First, we performed DNS starting from a statistically steady pipe flow. Second, we performed DNS starting from the laminar Sexl-Womersley flow and disturbed with the optimal helical perturbation according to a non-modal stability analysis. Our results show that the optimal perturbation is unable to sustain turbulence after the first pulsation period. ORY-1001 Spatiotemporally intermittent turbulence only survives for multiple periods if puffs are triggered. We find that puffs in pulsatile pipe flow do not only take advantage of the self-sustaining lift-up mechanism, but also of the intermittent stability of the mean velocity profile.Breakfast skipping (BS) has been considered to be associated with obesity, particularly among younger generations. However, few studies have addressed this issue in a middle-aged population considering sex and the conditions prior to breakfast. Therefore, we investigated clinical parameters, self-reported BS, late-night dinner (LND) eating, and late-night snacking (LNS) in ten body mass index (BMI) categories in a cross-sectional study of 892,578 non-diabetic people aged 40-74 years old who underwent a checkup. BS and LND were more prevalent in men (20.7% and 40.5%, respectively) than women (10.9% and 17.4%), whereas LNS was more prevalent in women (15.0%) than men (12.2%; all p less then 0.0001). The overall prevalence of BS increased linearly with increasing BMI. However, when subjects were divided into men and women, the prevalence of BS showed a U-shaped relationship with BMI in men (n = 479,203). When male subjects were restricted to those in their 40s or those reporting LND, the prevalence of BS further increased, maintaining a U-shaped form. Logistic regression analysis also showed a U-shaped relationship in the adjusted odds ratios of BMI categories for BS in men and a J-shaped curve in women. In conclusion, our study revealed an unexpectedly high prevalence of BS in middle-aged low-body-weight men.The purpose of this study was to describe the symptoms experienced by patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), examine whether different symptom groups significantly affected different functioning domains in these patients, and determine the effect of the "lack of energy" and "pain" symptom groups on the different functioning domains of health-related quality of life (HRQOL). From a single tertiary institution, this cross-sectional study enrolled 135 consecutive NSCLC patients who were mostly undergoing chemotherapy and were in the advanced stage (National University Hospital, Daegu, South Korea). Clinical and self-reported demographic information and data on different functioning domains (from the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire C30 (EORTC QLQ-C30)), symptom experience (from the EORTC QLQ-LC13), and the Symptom Distress Scale (SDS) were examined. The four most common symptoms were fatigue (69%), pain (47%), dyspnea (38%), and lack of appetite (36%). The "pain" symptom group was negatively associated with physical, emotional, cognitive, and role functioning. The "lack of energy" symptom group was negatively associated with physical, role, emotional, social, and cognitive functioning. The "lack of energy" symptom group explained the most variance for physical and role functioning, and the "pain" symptom group explained the most variance for emotional functioning. Impaired concentration explained the most variance for cognitive functioning. The classification and recommendation system for identifying social networking site (SNS) users' interests plays a critical role in various industries, particularly advertising. Personalized advertisements help brands stand out from the clutter of online advertisements while enhancing relevance to consumers to generate favorable responses. Although most user interest classification studies have focused on textual data, the combined analysis of images and texts on user-generated posts can more precisely predict a consumer's interests. Therefore, this research classifies SNS users' interests by utilizing both texts and images. Consumers' interests were defined using the Curlie directory, and various convolutional neural network (CNN)-based models and recurrent neural network (RNN)-based models were tested for our user interest classification system. In our hybrid neural network (NN) model, CNN-based classification models were used to classify images from users' SNS postings while RNN-based classification models were used to classify textual data. The results of our extensive experiments show that the classification of users' interests performed best when using texts and images together, at 96.55%, versus texts only, 41.38%, or images only, 93.1%. Our proposed system provides insights into personalized SNS advertising research and informs marketers on making (1) interest-based recommendations, (2) ranked-order recommendations, and (3) real-time recommendations.Bladder cancer is among the top ten most common cancer types in the world. Around 25% of all cases are muscle-invasive bladder cancer, for which the gold standard treatment in the absence of metastasis is the cystectomy. In recent years, trimodality treatment associating maximal transurethral resection and radiotherapy combined with concurrent chemotherapy is increasingly used as an organ-preserving alternative. However, the use of this treatment is still limited by the lack of biomarkers predicting tumour response and by a lack of targeted radiosensitising drugs that can improve the therapeutic index, especially by limiting side effects such as bladder fibrosis. In order to improve the bladder-preserving treatment, experimental studies addressing these main issues ought to be considered (both in vitro and in vivo studies). Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines for systematic reviews, we conducted a literature search in PubMed on experimental studies investigating how to improve bladder cancer radiotherapy with different radiosensitising agents using a comprehensive search string.
