From April to October 2021, we collected data on 23 patients, including nine men and 14 women, with ITP from five hospitals across Taiwan who received either the ChAdOx1 or mRNA-1273 vaccine before development or exacerbation of ITP. Our findings revealed that both ChAdOx1 and mRNA-1273 vaccines were associated with ITP. Many patients responded well to steroids and immune suppressants, which may also suggest that the nature of thrombocytopenia is more like ITP rather than TTS. Lack of thrombosis, low D-dimer level, and negative anti-PF4 result could help to exclude TTS, which is also a rare but a far more lethal condition.

The effect of remote pre- and postconditioning on anastomotic healing has been sparsely studied. The aim of our study was to investigate whether remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) applied before and after the creation of a small bowel anastomosis had an effect on anastomotic healing on postoperative day five evaluated by a tensile strength test and histological analysis.

Twenty-two female piglets were randomized into two groups. The intervention group (

 = 12) received RIC on the forelimbs consisting of 15 min of ischemia followed by 30 min of reperfusion before the first end-to-end ileal anastomosis was created. The RIC procedure was repeated and the second and more distal anastomosis was performed. The control group (

A multivariate logistic regression approach identified potential predictors of progression to AD dementia or all-cause dementia in individuals with MCI or cognitive impairment (CI). Eligible patients and variables of interest were identified using claims data from the Medicare Advantage Patient Database, by Optum.

Predictors of an AD dementia diagnosis included age (odds ratio [OR], 1.71) and use of antipsychotics (OR, 2.50) and hypertension medication (OR, 1.25). Medication use for comorbid conditions was a better indicator of risk than comorbidity coding. Diagnosis of CI by a neurologist increased the odds of an AD dementia diagnosis. Possible protective factors for progression included the use of anxiolytics (OR, 0.76), inpatient status at time of diagnosis (OR, 0.49), and a history of stroke (OR, 0.87). Physiotherapy (PT) is an allied health profession that is generally taught at universities with face-to-face learning to deliver the required knowledge and practical skills of PT. The education sector has transitioned to distance learning (DL) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study aimed to evaluate PT students' perception of quality of DL and satisfaction with DL, and identify potential predictors of student satisfaction with DL during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A cross-sectional design was used. An online survey included demographic information, and the Distance Education Learning Environments Survey (DELES) was sent to PT students in Jordan. Regression analyses were used to identify the predictors of student satisfaction with DL.

A total of 296 students completed the survey. Most students rated the overall quality of DL as good. However, they were not satisfied with DL. Instructor support for students, personal relevance, previous experience in DL, and being a master's student were the potential predictors of DL satisfaction.

PT students rated the quality of DL as good with low level of satisfaction. Students' perceptions of and satisfaction with using DL were correlated to several potential predictors that could be considered for improving the DL experience in PT education.

To investigate the association between FHP and neck pain intensity, disability, and cervical kinematics in individuals with neck pain compared to asymptomatic individuals. A secondary aim of this study was to explore the possible effect of a head-mounted display (HMD) used in a virtual reality (VR) assessment on FHP.
