power generation potential of a given waste treatment site. This work decouples decision factors by providing a practical template to better identify applicability of a prime mover to waste processing scenarios. In addition, the applicability analysis highlights areas in need of innovation, technology, and policy to address the changing landscape of waste treatment scale and potential opportunity to recover energy from small-scale distributed treatment facilities. This study aims to investigate the mediation role of cyber-ostracism to explain the relationship between perceived stress and emotional well-being among college students. We adopted a computer-based experiment, "Ostracism Online," randomly assigned participants to cyber-ostracized (n = 66) and cyber-included (n = 79) groups. The program simulated social media platforms, and participants created self-accounts and gave out Likes. Participants in cyber-ostracized group were manipulated to receive one Like, whereas those in cyber-included group received nine Likes. Before the experiment, perceived stress was measured, and cyber-ostracism and emotional well-being were measured after the ostracism manipulation. The findings revealed that cyber-ostracism fully mediates the relationship between perceived stress and emotional well-being. The results can be used to develop an online intervention for cyber-inclusion enhancement to reduce the negative emotions of stressed college students. Objective The present study examined whether ethnic-racial identity (ERI) exploration, resolution, and affirmation informed individuals' beliefs about virginity (ie, virginity as a gift, stigma, process) and first coital affective reactions (FCAR; ie, positive and negative), and whether these relations varied by biological sex. Participants and method The sample consisted of 184 Black college students (Mage = 19.79, SD = 2.08) enrolled in a large Southern university. Participants completed a virginity beliefs measure, first coital affective reaction measure, and an ethnic-racial identity measure. Results Findings indicated that for Black females, greater ERI exploration was associated with decreased virginity as a gift beliefs; and ERI resolution was associated with increased virginity as a gift beliefs. selleck compound Additionally, for Black males and females, ERI affirmation resulted in more positive FCAR, less negative FCAR, and less views of virginity as a stigma. ConclusionFinding implications are presented in the context of future research. The Intensive Supervision Mechanism (hereafter referred to as ISM) is one of the most important institutional management innovations for air pollution control in China, but there is currently no consensus on the effects of the ISM on air quality improvement. In this study, a reliable quantitative model based on the Difference-in-Differences (DID) analysis was designed to evaluate the impacts of ISM on air quality (as indicated by good air quality days (hereafter referred to as GAD) and the concentrations of six major air pollutants (i.e. PM2.5, PM10, O3_8H, NO2, SO2, and CO)), in China with focuses on the implementation cities of Henan Province. To optimize the model design, six meteorological factors, five socio-economic indicators, and VIIRS (Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite) data were also considered as alternative control variables for more comprehensive and effective results. In addition, the redundancy analysis (RDA) and Monte Carlo simulation were conducted to determine the optimal combination of those control variables which can best reflect the changes in explanatory variables. The main findings are as follows (1) the statistical model applied in this study can well evaluate the impacts of ISM; (2) the implementation of ISM can significantly reduce the concentrations of SO2, CO, and NO2, but the improvements for PM2.5, PM10, GAD and O3_8H were not significant. (3) the potential for air quality improvement due to ISM tends to be reduced over time, and thus the positive effects of ISM at its second stage were not increased significantly compared with those observed during its first stage. In general, those results not only demonstrate the effectiveness of ISM on air quality improvement, but also provide insights into how the ISM can be optimized to gain a sustained improvement of the ambient air quality in the future.

To assess the prevalence of carriage of

spp. in wild reptiles translocated from multiple locations to a single island, and determine changes in their body condition (BC) during quarantine.

Between 2007 and 2009, six endemic reptile species (

,

,

,

,

, and

) were caught from several locations in the northern North Island of New Zealand. Reptiles were held in quarantine for 14-41 days while being tested for carriage of

spp

Morphometric data were collected, and scaled body mass index for each species was calculated to determine changes in BC during the quarantine.

Of 221 individuals tested 12 (5%) were positive for

spp. All 12 were shore skinks (

 ; n = 30), with a test prevalence of 0.4 (95% CI = 0.25-0.58). Eleven were carrying

Warragul and one

Mississipi. There was no difference in BC at the start of quarantine of shore skinks between those that tested negative and those that tested positive for

spp. (p = 0.184). Reptiles that were quarantined for 15-20 days (three speciesrded in this species. In addition to time required for health-screening, we recommend that duration of quarantine should include time to allow animals to recover from captive stress and to provide an opportunity to increase their BC before release. This Evidence Base Update of parent-report measures of youth anxiety symptoms is a companion piece to our update on youth self-report anxiety symptom measures (Etkin et al., 2021). We rate the psychometric properties of the parent-report measures as Adequate, Good, or Excellent using criteria developed by Hunsley and Mash (2008) and Youngstrom et al. (2017). Our review reveals that the evidence base for parent-report measures is considerably less developed compared with the evidence base for youth self-report measures. Nevertheless, several measures, the parent-report Screen for Child Anxiety-Related Emotional Disorders, Multidimensional Anxiety Scale for Children, and Spence Children's Anxiety Scale, were found to have Good to Excellent psychometric properties. We conclude our review with suggestions about which parent-report youth anxiety measures are best suited to perform different assessment functions and directions for additional research to expand and strengthen the evidence base.
