Via ecological theory, peri-urban WASH was defined as (a) poor practice (intrapersonal, interpersonal); (b) a health hazard (community norm); (c) substandard and unregulated (public policy, organisational); and (d) offering hope for change (intrapersonal, interpersonal). Linked to these themes, participant findings revealed a community level gap, with public policy level standards, regulations and implementation having minimal impact on overall peri-urban WASH and public health due to shallow community engagement and poor acknowledgement of the WASH realities of high-density locations. Rather than a top-down approach, participants recommended increased government-resident collaboration, offering residents more ownership and empowerment for intervention, implementation and defending of preferred peri-urban WASH standards.A new lignan derivative, 11-deoxykompasinol A (1), together with six known compounds, including five lignan glycosides (2-6) and a jasmonic acid derivative (7), were isolated from the seeds of Orychophragmus violaceus. Structure of the new compound was elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic techniques and ECD (electronic circular dichroism calculations). Since most komasinol derivatives were isolated as racemate, the absolute configuration of this type of compound was reported for the first time. The known compounds were identified by comparison with data reported in the literature. Proteases inhibitor All compounds were tested for their cytotoxic activities against the Hela and HepG2 cell lines in vitro. The new compound 1 exhibited obvious cytotoxicity against the two cell lines with IC50 values of 9.43 and 18.26 μM, respectively. Compounds 2, 5, and 7 were found to possess moderate cytotoxicity against the above cell lines. This systematic review was aimed at identifying the psychometric properties of field-based tests for assessing physical fitness in soccer referees. Electronic databases were searched up to May 2020 for studies that informed about the reliability and/or validity of at least one field-based physical fitness test for soccer referees. A total of 13 studies analysed the psychometric properties of the field-based physical fitness tests proposed by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) (aerobic endurance, n = 8; anaerobic endurance, n = 3; and speed, n = 8), while seven investigations focused on field-based physical fitness tests specifically designed for assessing aerobic endurance (n = 1) or change of direction (COD) (n = 6). According to the observed reliability and validity values, the Assistant Referee Intermittent Endurance test (ARIET), the 50-m sprint test and the Modified Agility test (MAT) seem, respectively, the best available options for assessing aerobic endurance, speed, and COD in soccer referees. Future investigations should consider the lack of research focusing on assistant and female referees. Further studies on the psychometric properties of anaerobic endurance and short distance speed tests are also needed. In the present study, the essential oil (EO) of Annona exsucca DC. or Rollinia exsucca was extracted by hydrodistillation, and the identification and quantification of volatile compounds were performed by GC-MS and GC-FID. A. exsucca leaves were collected from the Magalhães Barata, northeast of the State of Pará (Brazil) in March and September of 2019. Moreover, we used computational approaches to evaluate possible biological targets for the major compounds of the EO. In the sample obtained in March, 50 compounds were identified, with hydrocarbon sesquiterpenes being the predominant ones with the content of 80.52%. In the sample collected in September, 58 compounds were identified, and the chemical class of hydrocarbon monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes were the dominant ones with contents of 43.36 and 31.29%, respectively. Computational methods demonstrated that some major compounds have potential biological activity against some strains of pathogenic bacteria, as well as against molecular targets involved in cancer development.Sophora flavescens Ait. has been utilized as an anticarcinogen, antibacterial and insecticide. Two new prenylflavonoids, Sophoflavonoid A (1) and Sophoflavonoid B (2), together with four known analogues were isolated from the root bark of S. flavescens. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by the interpretation of spectroscopic data and chemical evidence. Their absolute configurations were determined by ECD analysis. The inhibitory effects of compounds 1-6 against three lung carcinoma cells were determined using the MTT assay. The results revealed that compound 3 displayed strong cytotoxic effect against H460 cell line (IC50, 4.67 μM), while compounds 1, 4-6 exhibited significant inhibitory effects against three tumor cells. Therefore, this study suggests that the isopentenyl flavonoid-rich products of S. flavescens, including the new compounds, could be valuable candidates for the development of pharmaceuticals in the prevention and treatment for tumors.Introduction Although sleep disturbances are well documented in bipolar spectrum disorders (BSDs), significantly less research has examined whether these disturbances are present in those at risk for developing BSDs or with subsyndromal symptoms. The present study examined associations between risk for BSDs, as measured by the Hypomanic Personality Scale (HPS), and sleep assessed using experience sampling. We assessed whether intraindividual variability in sleep was associated with affect, cognition, and behavior in daily life and potential directionality of these relationships. Methods 233 young adults oversampled for high scores on the HPS completed 14 days of experience sampling assessing total sleep time (TST), bed/rise time, sleep quality, affect (negative and positive affect), cognition (difficulty concentrating, racing thoughts), and behavior (impulsivity) in daily life. We used Dynamic Structural Equation Modeling (DSEM) to assess within-person links between sleep and bipolar spectrum psychopathology. Results HPS scores were associated with less TST, later bedtime, and more variable TST and bedtime. Variability in TST was associated with negative affect, difficulty concentrating/racing thoughts, and impulsivity. Within-person decreases in sleep were associated with next day increases in negative affect, stress, difficulty concentrating, and racing thoughts.Limitations Measurement of sleep was limited. Future studies should examine both objective measures of sleep (e.g., actigraphy) and fragmentation in sleep. Conclusions Risk for BSD was associated with similar patterns of sleep disruptions as seen in BSDs. Important dynamic links between sleep and bipolar spectrum psychopathology emerged indicating that sleep is an important target for improving symptoms of BSDs in daily life.
