Visual conformity with affirmed gender (VCAG) or "passing" is thought to be an important, but poorly understood, determinant of well-being in transgender people. VCAG is a subjective measure that is different from having an inner sense of being congruent with one's gender identity.

We examined the frequency and determinants of VCAG and explored its association with mental health outcomes in a cohort of transgender adults.

The "Study of Transition, Outcomes & Gender (STRONG)" is a cohort of transgender individuals recruited from 3 Kaiser Permanente health plans located in Georgia, Northern California and Southern California. A subset of cohort members completed a survey between 2015 and 2017. VCAG was assessed as the difference between 2 scales scale 1 reflecting the person's sense of how they are perceived by others, and scale 2 reflecting the person's desire to be perceived. Participants were considered to have achieved VCAG when their scale 1 scores were equal to or exceeded their scale 2 scores. nxiety in a Cohort of Transgender People. J Sex Med 2020;172084-2092.

A combined approach of myocardial CT perfusion (CTP) with coronary CT angiography (CTA) was shown to have better diagnostic accuracy than coronary CTA alone. However, data on cost benefits and length of stay when compared to other perfusion imaging modalities has not been evaluated. Therefore, we aim to perform a feasibility study to assess direct costs and length of stay of a combined stress CTP/CTA and use SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging (SPECT-MPI) as a benchmark, among chest pain patients at intermediate-risk for acute coronary syndrome (ACS) presenting to the emergency department (ED).

This is a prospective two-arm clinical trial (NCT02538861) with 43 patients enrolled in stress CTP/CTA arm (General Electric Revolution CT) and 102 in SPECT-MPI arm. Mean age of the study population was 65±12 years; 56% were men. We used multivariable linear regression analysis to compare length of stay and direct costs between the two modalities.

Overall, 9 out of the 43 patients (21%) with CTP/CTA testing had an the potential to lead to shorter length of stay and lower direct costs.

Reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) has become a common treatment in displaced proximal humeral fracture (PHF) in elderly patients due to inconstant results with osteosynthesis or hemiarthroplasty. RSA allows a good anterior elevation but rotational results are more random and depend on tuberosity healing.

Use of an offset modular system (OMS) on the prothesis improve tuberosity healing and functional results.

This retrospective cohort analysed radiological and clinical outcomes at least one year after the use of RSA Humelock II Reversed (Fx Solutions) after a displaced PHF Neer 3 or 4 in patients over 70 years. The first criterion was tuberosity healing with or without the use of the OMS device on radiographs. The second criterion was a clinical analysis of active range of motion (ROM), anterior elevation (AAE), external and internal rotations (ER, IR), Constant, DASH, SSV, VAS scores according to tuberosity healing. We also analysed radiological and clinical complications.

We analysed from November 2013 to May 2018 thirty-four RSA. Mean age was 78±5,7 years, mean follow up was 18±7,2 months and the mean tuberosity healing rate was 79%. Mean ROM were 117±24 (AAE), 18̊±18 (ER) and L2 (IR). On the first analysis, healing tuberosity with cage was present on 24 (92%) patients versus 3 (37,5%) without (p<0,005). The second analysis showed a non-significant improvement on ER, IR, Constant, DASH and SSV. Complications found were three removal of prothesis after infection, one axillary nerve lesion, one ulnar paraesthesia and one humeral loosening.

The use of the OMS cage allows a better consolidation of tuberosities in a significant way but no significant clinical effects was highlighted due to a small patient number in the study.

Recent studies have shown variations in glenoid bone density in asymmetric wear patterns but have yet to analyze non-arthritic or concentrically worn glenoids.

The purpose of this study is to characterize and compare subchondral glenoid bone densities in both non-arthritic and A1, A2, B1, B2 and B3 osteoarthritic glenoids, as well as to assess uniformity in symmetric and asymmetric erosion wear patterns.

In all, 150 computerized tomography (CT) scans containing equal numbers of non-arthritic (N), A1, A2, B1, B2 and B3 glenoids were segmented semi-automatically. Each reconstructed glenoid was divided first into anterior and posterior quadrants, and then further subdivided into four quadrants. Volumes of interest (VOI) were defined at depths of 0-2.5mm (Zone A), 2.5-5mm (Zone B) and 5-7.5mm (Zone C). Average bone densities were measured at each VOI depth and in each quadrant.

Osteoarthritic glenoids had higher mean bone densities than N glenoids. Mean bone densities were uniform amongst all quadrants fosic Science, Anatomy, Imaging.Removal of the tonsils is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures in children. The purpose of this historical note is to analyse the first description of this surgery, understand the first terms used to name the tonsil, and describe the first instruments used to perform this surgery.

The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the surgical volume of three ENT departments in Ile-de-France, a region severely affected by the epidemic.

The number and nature of surgeries was collected from three university hospital ENT departments from 17/03/2020 to 17/04/2020 and from 18/03/2019 to 18/04/2019. Centre 1 is a general adult ENT department specialized in otology, centre 2 is a general adult ENT department specialized in cancer and centre 3 is a paediatric ENT department. Comparative analysis of the decreased surgical volume was conducted between 2019 and 2020.

To analyse the reduction of ENT surgical volume.

The three centres operated on 540 patients in 2019, versus 89 in 2020, i.e. an 84% decrease 89% in Centre 1, 61% in Centre 2, and 95% in the paediatric centre. Otological surgery decreased by 97%, endonasal surgery decreased by 91%, head and neck surgery decreased by 54%, plastic surgery decreased by 82%, and transoral surgery decreased by 85%. The number of surgical operations for skin cancer decreased (24 vs.
