Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) is an acute respiratory illness, caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus2 (SARS-COV2) which quickly grew to a pandemic in late 2019 and led to substantial public health problems. Among the extrapulmonary manifestations reported, cardiovascular implications are remarkable as they can be potentially lethal. There have been rare reports of pericardial involvement, despite the pronounced cardiovascular complications including acute myocardial injury, myocarditis, arrhythmia, cardiogenic shock and venous thromboembolism. Herein, we reported a young man with cardiac tamponade as the presenting feature of COVID-19. Case summary An otherwise healthy 28-year-old man, was admitted with pleuritic chest pain and shortness of breath and was diagnosed with COVID-19 associated cardiac tamponade. Emergency pericardiocentesis yielded large amount of hemorrhagic pericardial effusion which resulted in symptom relief. He was successfully treated with pericardiocentesis followed by anti-viral and anti-inflammatory medications and remained asymptomatic in 1-month follow-up.

We highlight this case to mention that "hemorrhagic" cardiac tamponade can be a life-threatening complication of COVID-19, which can be treated if diagnosed early. Therefore, clinicians should be fully aware of this cardiac complication to consider in deteriorating COVID-19 patients.

As result, developing coronavirus-specific vaccine and/or therapeutics is now a top priority for public health agencies. Since our findings about COVID-19 are relatively new, the current knowledge about the molecular mechanism involved in pathogenicity and virulence of the novel coronavirus is not advanced. Understanding angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), the receptor for the coronavirus, is significantly important. To better illustrate the role of ACE2 in the severity of COVID-19 and the impact of currently used drugs on this receptor, this paper briefly reviews newly published articles in this regard.N/A.

Letter to Editor, report the amount of literature generated over two weeks on PubMed.gov related to COVID-19 Methods reporting the daily number of "hits" from "COVID-19" search on PubMed.gov Results There were 66988 entries on PubMed.gov on the search word "COVID-19" on October 24, 2020. The average daily increase in number of entries was 335.

This pandemic has affected all segments of the population but the most vulnerable sections and occupations are suffering a lot. The communication traces the stipulation and misery of the labourers and daily wagers in India during lockdown, which was implemented as a necessary preventive measure to contain the COVID-19 outbreak.NA.Un unexpected infection by a novel coronavirus (SAR CoV-2) started by the end of December in Wuhan, China, spreading all over other countries, and Italy was one of the most affected ones. WHO declared the pandemic on 11th March, 2020. Despite the numerous unknown aspects of this infection, the healthcare system had to face a multidimensional emergency. Albania, a small country with a geographical, historical and cultural relationship with Italy was one of the first countries giving support and starting a profitable collaboration focusing on the mission to provide the necessary help for the health care workers. In order to help the Italian healthcare system to face up to the situation two medical teams firstly (in March) and a group of 60 health care workers later in April were sent to Italy (Brescia Hospital) to support clinical activities in departments with COVID-19 patients. This important contribution showed the great solidarity and helped to strengthen the partnership between the two countries...Clinical observations in concert with literary data demonstrate that detrimental complications of COVID19-induced pathology (acute respiratory distress syndrome, multi-organ failure, Kawasaki-like disease etc.), could result from a disturbance of local iron homeostasis (FeH) in damaged tissues followed by abnormal coagulation in small vessels. To resolve these complications the local FeH needs to be recovered. Hepcidin, as a master regulator of FeH is both a major player in the recovery and a marker of an efficacy of the restoration. Temsirolimus clinical trial Therefore, both local and systemic hepcidin levels could serve as a dynamic marker of disease progression (the more hepcidin the worse is disease) and treatment efficacy (after iron homeostasis is recovered hepcidin disappears). On the contrast, artificial attempts to suppress hepcidin expression directly or application of hepcidin antagonists could be detrimental. Overall, more comprehensive research of hepcidin role in COVID-19 pathology is needed..Novel Coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2 is responsible for the global pandemic of COVID-19. It has been shown to spread through respiratory droplets, direct contact and environmental fomites. The possibility of its spread by other modes viz. airborne, fecal-oral, vertical, etc. is being explored and can have implications in planning preventive strategies and disease management. A systematic analysis was carried out using the keywords; "COVID 19 vertical transmission", "SARS-CoV-2 pregnancy", and "SARS-CoV-2 vertical transmission", and the cases suggestive of possible vertical transmission of SARS-CoV-2 were studied in detail. The available evidences point at a possibility of vertical transmission of SARS-CoV-2.
