Peri-implantitis is an infectious disease that affects the tissues around dental implants, with clinical signs of inflammation and irreversible loss of supporting bone. This study aimed to compare the effect of sterile topical tetracycline ophthalmic ointment as an adjuvant to mechanical debridement with mechanical debridement alone in the treatment of peri-implantitis.

In this single-blind randomized clinical trial, 32 patients (16 patients in each group) with peri-implantitis were treated topically using sterile tetracycline ophthalmic ointment. Four clinical parameters, including modified bleeding index (mBI), modified plaque index (mPI), probing depth (PD), and clinical attachment level (CAL), were measured at baseline and at 3- and 6-month follow-up intervals.

PD reduction was statistically significant after 3 and 6 months in the test and control groups (

Dental implants have become a reliable treatment modality in recent times, especially with the evolution of digital technology such as CBCT, implant planning software, computer-assisted manufacturing, and guided implant surgery. A conservative treatment method of repeated curettage and irrigation was used and although the lesion healed completely, it had major effects on the patient's quality of life including loss of two teeth. It is important that dentist be aware of the devastating effects of imprudent application of various chemicals used in dentistry. The conservative treatment used for this case can be helpful option for similar cases.

Gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) samples were taken at baseline from 30 systemically healthy individuals. Fifteen subjects had stage II grade A or B periodontitis, and 15 were periodontally and clinically healthy. This clinical trial evaluated the effect of coenzyme Q10 supplementation along with scaling and root planing (SRP) on periodontal and gingival indices in controlled diabetic patients.

Forty-two diabetic patients (controlled type), referred to the Department of Periodontics with chronic periodontitis and eligible for the study, were included in the study. Herein, we develop a two-step synthetic method to achieve three unprecedented aryl dicarbanion-bonded Ag13 nanoclusters by using protective macrocyclic ligands. Firstly, various aryl dicarbanion-Ag4 cluster intermediates are acquired via a silver-mediated annulation reaction within a macrocyclic ligand. These Ag4 cluster precursors are released from the surrounding macrocycle by protonation, and further undergo an inter-cluster coupling to generate bipyridine products and low-valence silver atoms. The remaining resurgent diide-Ag4 clusters assemble with low-valence silver atoms to yield a series of organometallic Ag13 nanoclusters. These Ag13 nanoclusters feature a unique open-shell electronic structure as well as a chiral cluster architecture due to the asymmetric arrangements of surrounding aryl dianion ligands. Furthermore, the pyridyl diide ligands on the surface of the nanocluster further experience an intra-cluster oxidative coupling to produce bipyridine coupling products and large nanoparticles. The coupling reaction-driven cluster-to-cluster transformation is comprehensively tracked by high resolution mass spectroscopy. This paper describes a facile method to actively immobilize the morphology of Cu-based catalysts during the CO2RR, which makes it possible to reveal the fundamental mechanism of specific adsorption of halide ions. A stable morphology is obtained by pre-reduction in aqueous KX (X = Cl, Br, I) electrolytes followed by conducting the CO2RR using non-buffered and non-specifically adsorbed K2SO4 as the supporting electrolyte, by which the change of local pH and cation concentration is also maintained during the CO2RR. In situ spectroscopy revealed that the specific adsorption of halide ions enhances the adsorption of *CO intermediates, which enables a high selectivity of 84.
