The contingent valuation method (CVM) is used to measure non-market value. However, the CVM evaluates values using the subjective survey responses of consumers. Therefore, to analyze non-market value, we improve an integrated analysis module, which is divided into the following three parts (1) a dose-response function that describes the relationship between noise exposure and annoyance, (2) the calculation of willingness to pay to reduce the noise level from the spike model in the CVM analysis, and (3) the calculation of the non-market value-related benefits by linking steps 1 and 2 above. We use the proposed integrated analysis module to analyze the value of noise reduction in South Korea. From this integrated analysis module, we find that a 1 dB reduction in living noise generated from a construction site has a value from 4578 KRW (USD$3.94) to 5794 KRW (USD$4.99) and that this value varies depending on the noise exposure level. The integrated analysis module can thus be used to improve noise policies in South Korea.Among the various species of vegetation, conifers play an important role as a biomonitor of air pollution. The current study presents the determination of pesticides and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in 15 conifer samples collected in August 2018 (summer season) from different regions in north Lebanon (Tripoli, Koura, Bcharre, and Akkar). Pollutants were extracted based on QuEChERS-SPME followed by liquid and gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Results showed that the samples collected from Bcharre region had the lowest concentration in both pesticides and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with a total concentration of 50 and 66 ng g-1, while the samples collected from the regions widely known by their agriculture (Akkar, Tripoli, and Koura areas) were the most polluted with concentrations of 231 and 422 ng g-1, 192 and 370 ng g-1, and 127 and 98 ng g-1 for pesticides and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons respectively. This study revealed that conifers are suggested to be efficient biomonitors of contamination levels in the air.Recently the applications of engineered nanoparticles in the agricultural sector is increased as nano-pesticides, nano-fertilizers, nanocarrier for macro- or micronutrients, nano-sensors, etc. In this study, biocompatible iron oxide nanoparticles (FeO NPs) have been synthesized through an environment-friendly route using Cassia occidentalis L. flower extract to act as nano-priming agent for promoting germination of Pusa basmati rice seeds. Different characterization methods, viz. X-ray diffraction, particle size analyser, zeta potential and scanning electron microscopy, were used to show efficacious synthesis of FeO NPs capped with phytochemicals. Rice seeds primed with FeO NPs at 20 and 40 mg/L efficiently enhanced germination and seedling vigour compared to ferrous sulphate (FeSO4) priming and hydro-primed control. The seeds primed with 20 mg/L FeO NPs showed up to 50% stimulation in biophysical parameters such as root length and dry weight. Substantial stimulation of sugar and amylase content was also reported at the same concentration. The antioxidant enzyme activity was significantly increased as compared to FeSO4 priming and control. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) study was also done for analysis of Fe, Zn, K, Ca, and Mn concentration in seeds. The seed priming technique signifies a comprehensible and innovative approach that could enhance α-amylase activity, iron acquisition, and ROS production, ensuing elevated soluble sugar levels for supporting seedling growth and enhancing seed germination rate, respectively. In this report, phytochemical-capped FeO NPs are presented as a capable nano-priming agent for stimulating the germination of naturally aged rice seeds. At present, water pollution is still a serious problem in some parts of China. Clean water corridor technology (which provides water quality assurance and pollution load reduction from the Major Science and Technology Program for Water Pollution Control and Treatment) is a river pollution control and treatment measure. However, due to the differences of specific river conditions, it is not initially clear which technology can be used to obtain the best effect. Numerical simulation can address this issue. The results can be used as the basis for selecting clean water corridor technology. Combined with remote sensing (RS) and geographic information system (GIS) technology, the relationship between land use and non-point source pollution load was analyzed by using the HSPF (Hydrological Simulation Program-Fortran) model. According to the distribution of pollution load, the effect of the clear water corridor technology and its combination scenario on the reduction of non-point source pollution in the basin was si%, 8.96% and 8.67%, and 24.12% and 23.20%, respectively. Selleck Protosappanin B It is necessary to comprehensively adopt clean water corridor technology for an optimal allocation and reasonable layout and to increase the pollution load reduction rate to further achieve ecological environment restoration goals.Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder of the brain characterized by shortfall in the social portfolio of an individual and abbreviated interactive and communication aspects rendering stereotypical behavior and pitfalls in a child's memory, thinking, and learning capabilities. The incidence of ASD has accelerated since the past decade, portraying environment as one of the primary assets, comprising of metallic components aiming to curb the neurodevelopmental pathways in an individual. Many regulations like Clean Air Act and critical steps taken by countries all over the globe, like Sweden and the USA, have rendered the necessity to study the effects of environmental metallic components on ASD progression. The review focuses on the primary metallic components present in the environment (aluminum, lead, mercury, and arsenic), responsible for accelerating ASD symptoms by a set of general mechanisms like oxidative stress reduction, glycolysis suppression, microglial activation, and metalloprotein disruption, resulting in apoptotic signaling, neurotoxic effects, and neuroinflammatory responses.
