Randomized controlled trials on manual acupuncture treatment of DPN were retrieved from the Medline, Web of Science, PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, CNKI, WanFang, and VIP databases. Extracted research data were summarized in the tables, and methodological assessment was performed using the risk-of-bias assessment tool of Cochrane. Meta-analysis was performed by Revman 5.3, Stata 14.0, and TSA 0.9.5.10 Beta software.
A total of 18 randomized clinical trials (RCTs) were recruited (1) 11 RCTs were acupuncture alone compared with vitamin B; (2) 7 RCTs were acupuncture combined with vitamin B compared with vitamin B, involving 1200 participants. Acupuncture alone improved clinical efficacy (

However, more high-quality RCTs on vitamin B combined with acupuncture are required to confirm our results.The objective of this investigation was to verify whether biologically active peptides (BAPs) could be obtained from water solutions of α-lactalbumin (α-la) and caseinoglycomacropeptide (CGMP) through an application of the new Lactobacillus helveticus strains. Also, the aim of this research was to determine the influence of addition of the analyzed protein preparations to milk subjected to fermentation by tested bacterial strains on the physicochemical properties of obtained milk beverages. The results indicate that CGMP is a more preferable source for the production of BAPs by the test bacteria than α-la. The antihypertensive and ACE inhibitory effects were the most widespread bioactivities among the detected BAPs. α-la containing fermented milk beverages had higher values of springiness, gumminess, chewiness, and resilience than analogous products containing CGMP, while CGMP-supplemented fermented products exhibited higher values of the hardness parameter. The highest values of hardness (0.416 ± 0.05 N) were recorded for beverages fermented by DSMZ containing the addition of CGMP, while the lowest value of this parameter (0.186 ± 0.06 N) was noted for products containing α-la and fermented by B734. Moreover, CGMP-containing fermented products were characterized by a generally higher value of the proteolysis index (PI) than analogous variants containing α-la. The use of analyzed strains and the selected protein preparations has a positive effect on the texture of fermented milk beverages and might contribute to an increase in the health-promoting potential of such products.
Gender-based violence (GBV) is a major public health issue that affects the health and well-being of millions of young people worldwide each year. Gender-based violence was prevalent throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. However, research in Africa is extremely diverse.
The purpose of this study is to determine the extent and risk factors of gender-based violence among night female students in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.
This cross-sectional study was conducted among 788 elementary and high school night female students in Bahir Dar from October 15 to November 15, 2019. Data was gathered using self-administered questionnaires. A binary and multiple logistic regression model was used to identify factors associated with gender-based and sexual violence. An adjusted odds ratio (AOR) with a 95 percent confidence interval (CI) was calculated to determine the level of significance.
The overall lifetime prevalence of gender-based violence (sexual, physical, and emotional violence) was 71.1% with a 95% CI of 67.8%-74.1%. Thf sexual violence, physical violence, and emotional violence was high. As a result, it is recommended that policymakers, district officials, schools, and other stakeholders pay attention to and act on gender-based values.Abiotic stress is the major threat confronted by modern-day agriculture. Salinity is one of the major abiotic stresses that influence geographical distribution, survival, and productivity of various crops across the globe. Plants perceive salt stress cues and communicate specific signals, which lead to the initiation of defence response against it. Stress signalling involves the transporters, which are critical for water transport and ion homeostasis. Various cytoplasmic components like calcium and kinases are critical for any type of signalling within the cell which elicits molecular responses. Stress signalling instils regulatory proteins and transcription factors (TFs), which induce stress-responsive genes. In this review, we discuss the role of ion transporters, protein kinases, and TFs in plants to overcome the salt stress. Understanding stress responses by components collectively will enhance our ability in understanding the underlying mechanism, which could be utilized for crop improvement strategies for achieving food security.This paper develops a framework for analyzing migration restriction regimes, and illustrates it with the case of U.S. immigration law and policy. The apparatus of restriction may stipulate specific ceilings, whether some groups are exempt from the ceiling and, if so, by what criteria, and whether admission under the ceiling is first-come/first-served or by lottery or instead preferential and, if so, by what criteria.
