the adrenergic system of vascular, airway, and cardiac myocytes, favoring either a state of health or disease. While the use of androgens as a therapeutic tool for treating asthma symptoms or heart disease is proposed, the vascular system is warmly affected.

To investigate the association between high-normal preconception TSH levels and reproductive outcomes in infertile women undergoing the first fresh D3 embryo transfer.

This was a retrospective study. Euthyroid patients undergoing the first fresh D3 embryo transfer from January 2018 to May 2019 were initially included. The patients were divided into a low-TSH (0.27-2.5 mIU/L) group and a high-normal TSH (2.5-4.2 Miu) group. The reproductive outcomes were compared between the groups.

A total of 1786 women were ultimately included, in which 1008 of whom had serum TSH levels between 0.27 and 2.5 mIU/L and 778 of whom had serum TSH levels between 2.5 and 4.2 mIU/L. The patients were highly homogeneous in terms of general characteristics. High-normal TSH levels had no adverse impact on the clinical pregnancy rate, miscarriage rate, or live birth rate (respectively, aOR = 0.92, 1.30, and 0.88 and

= 0.416, 0.163, and 0.219). No significant differences were observed in terms of gestational age, single live birth rates, and birth weight, or birth length.

High-normal TSH levels did not significantly influence reproductive outcomes in infertile women undergoing the first fresh D3 embryo transfer. Further studies are needed to test whether the results might be applicable to a wider population.

Menopause is associated with the increased risk of metabolic syndrome (MetS) and cardiovascular (CV) disease. Most studies have focused the postmenopausal women and the relationships among estrogen, androgen, and Mets risk. The main aim of the study was to investigate the Mets risk in perimenopausal women and whether the variation of FSH is associated with metabolic factors.

A single-center cross-sectional retrospective analysis including 154 premenopausal women and 124 perimenopausal women was performed.

The prevalence of Mets in the perimenopausal group was much higher than the premenopausal group (49.19% vs. 35.71%,

= 0.023). The prevalence of central obesity and NAFLD also increased in the perimenopausal group than in the premenopausal group. We grouped the population by FSH tertiles; compared with women in the lowest tertile, women in the highest tertile had higher age, WC, serum TC, LDL-C, AST, ALT, and creatine levels. Nec-1s mw The prevalence of hypertriglyceridemia, raised BP and Mets also increased in the highest tertile group. Further, we subdivided the perimenopausal women according to FSH tertiles. Compared with perimenopausal women in the lowest tertile, the prevalence of raised BP significantly increased in the highest tertile.

The risk of Mets increased in perimenopausal females than in premenopausal women. And a higher FSH level was associated with higher WC, TG, BPs, and the risk of Mets in perimenopausal women. Elevated FSH level appears to be a risk factor of MetS biomarkers in perimenopausal women.

A total of 396 individuals were interviewed revealing unscientific and fragmented knowledge about the subject for most of the studied population. The female population was found to have 1.68 times more chance of knowing about the disease than the male population, while highly educated individuals were found to have 2.92 times more chances of knowing about leishmaniasis compared to basic educated individuals. All of the respondents reported the presence of, at least, one risk factor, while ages ≥40 years were considered a protective factor compared to younger ages, indicating that older individuals are more likely to recognize risks and protect themselves against leishmaniasis. These results will contribute to the production of didactic materials for the population with respect to their previous knowledge and will provide a basis for control and prophylactic measures.

Boiss (ZM) herbal oils are among the most used herbal products in traditional medicine as the antiseptic, anesthetic, carminative, and antispasmodic. However, there are no clinical studies to evaluate the efficacy of the herbs mentioned in the treatment of functional dyspepsia (FD). This study was designed to appraise the efficacy and safety of a novel herbal medicine consisting of ZM, AG, and TA essential oils compared to omeprazole in FD treatment.

The present study was a randomized double-blind clinical trial with parallel groups in Iran. Patients in control and intervention arms received omeprazole 20 mg once a day and 250 mg soft-gel capsules containing 180 mg of essential oils of ZM, AG, and TA twice a day for two weeks, respectively. The primary outcome was the sufficient response rate in the postprandial distress syndrome (PDS) and/or epigastric pain syndrome (EPS) at the end of the intervention. Secondary outcomes were the improvement rate in the PDS, EPS, Gastr

Based on the study findings, this herbal medicine can be considered as an appropriate treatment of FD. However, a larger multicenter trial is needed to confirm the results of the trial.[This corrects the article DOI 10.1155/2020/9831687.].

To study the influence of season on patch tests results.

We conducted a retrospective epidemiological study which concerned all the patients of the Tunisian center, who consulted in the Dermato-Allergology Unit of Occupational Medicine Department of Farhat Hached University Hospital-Sousse (Tunisia) over a period of 07 years. All the patients were tested by the European Standard Battery allergens (BSE).

The data of 1000 patch tests were analyzed during the study period. More than half of the patch tests (58.6%) was positive. In winter, 63% of patch tests showed a positive reaction versus 52% of patch tests in summer without a statistically significant association. However, results of lanolin alcohols, epoxy resin, and Sesquiterpene lactone mix varied significantly with season. Atopy was significantly associated with 18.8% of positive reactions in winter and only with 5.2% of positive reactions in summer (

= 0.015).

Seasonal variations in patch tests results were more significant with some allergens of European Standard Battery and in atopic patients.
