The "Joint Initiative for Teaching and Learning on Global Health Challenges and One Health" targets education and training in Global Health Challenges and One Health, focusing on surpassing issues that affect One Health training programs. The present work describes the planning, implementation, and challenges to develop an international educational initiative among six partner institutions from four different countries, to build a collaborative teaching and learning environment. The course applies collaborative online international learning principles and is addressed to graduate students of universities from Brazil, Germany, Mozambique, and Kosovo. A pilot curriculum was developed with modules on intercultural competence, interprofessional and collaborative practice in One Health; One Health; healthcare, surveillance, and One Health; bioethics in One Health and careers in Global Health. The course combines synchronous and asynchronous activities developed in groups by mixing students from different institutions and countries. Forty-four experts from 22 institutions of the Americas, Africa, Europe, and Asia collaborated with the course content. Some challenges to implementing the course were the different criteria to assign credits across institutions, the lack of bibliographic material across all partners, limited overlap hours and periods for synchronous activities, and short semester overlap across institutions. Despite the challenges for implementation, the entire process of planning and delivering the course involves intense international collaboration, contributing to the curriculum internationalization, benefiting all institutions involved, promoting exchange even in the challenging scenario of the pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).Ascaris and Parascaris are important parasites in the family Ascarididae, large, ubiquitous intestinal-dwelling nematodes infecting all classes of vertebrates. Parasitic nematode drug resistance in veterinary medicine and drug recalcitrance in human medicine are increasing worldwide, with few if any new therapeutic classes on the horizon. Some of these parasites are zoonotic, e.g., Ascaris is passed from humans to pigs and vice versa. The development of new therapies against this family of parasites would have major implications for both human and livestock health. Here we tested the therapeutic ability of a paraprobiotic or dead probiotic that expresses the Bacillus thuringiensis Cry5B protein with known anthelmintic properties, against zoonotic Ascaris suum and Parascaris spp. This paraprobiotic, known as IBaCC, intoxicated A. suum larvae in vitro and was highly effective in vivo against intestinal A. suum infections in a new mouse model for this parasite. Fermentation was scaled up to 350 l to treat pigs and horses. Single dose Cry5B IBaCC nearly completely cleared A. suum infections in pigs. Furthermore, single dose Cry5B IBaCC drove fecal egg counts in Parascaris-infected foals to zero, showing at least parity with, and potential superiority to, current efficacy of anthelmintics used against this parasite. Cry5B IBaCC therefore represents a new, paraprobiotic One Health approach towards targeting Ascarididae that is safe, effective, massively scalable, stable, and useful in human and veterinary medicine in both the developed and developing regions of the world.Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) represents a major threat to human and animal health. The aim of this study was to compare the prevalence of ESBL-E. coli between dogs and cats and across countries through meta-analysis. A retrospective review of medical records of patients diagnosed with BOT and on regular follow up at All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi, during a five-year study period from March 2014 to March 2019 was performed. Surgical treatment was classified as radical, fertility sparing surgery (FSS) or cystectomy. link3 Surgical staging was defined as complete, partial or unstaged. Median age of seventy-five women was 32 years. Follow up period ranged from 22 to 61 months (median 36 m). Radical surgery was done in 34 (45.3%), FSS in 32 (42.6%) and cystectomy in 9 (12.0%) women. Complete surgical staging was performed in 22 (29.3%), partial staging in 23 (30.6%) and 30 (40%) were unstaged. During the follow up period, 98.7% patients were alive and 90.7% were free of recurrence. Median time to recurrence was 35 months. Recurrence rate was 33.3% in cystectomy vs 6.2% in oophorectomy (p = 0.03). All seven recurrences were in unstaged (six) or partially staged patient (one). Six recurrences in ovary were salvaged by surgery and recurrent disease was of borderline histology. Spontaneous conception and live birth rate was 42.1%. FSS is a safe procedure and should be considered in a young patient with early stage disease and desirous of future fertility. Adoption of navigated total knee arthroplasty (Nav-TKA) is increasing. However, it has been suggested that a perceived decrease in surgical efficiency and a lack of proven superior functional outcomes associated with Nav-TKA have hindered its widespread adoption.

The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program was queried to identify patients who had undergone TKA with or without navigation between 2012 and 2018. Patients were further subclassified based on the type of navigation used, image-guided or imageless. Multivariate logistic regression was used to compare operative time and 30-day complication rates between conventional TKA (Conv-TKA) and Nav-TKA with and without image guidance.

A total of 316,210 Conv-TKAs and 8554 Nav-TKAs (8270 imageless, 284 image-guided) were identified. Across the study period, the use of Nav-TKA was associated with a 1.5-minute increase in operative time. However, the overall time burden decreased over the study period, and by 2018, the meae complications. Imaging demonstrated laterally dislocated patella, with asymmetric femoral trochlea, and advanced lateral compartment arthritis. The patient underwent robotic-assisted lateral unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (RAUKA). The patient saw marked improvements in patient-reported outcome measurements from her initial visit to the last follow-up visit. While treatment of knee osteoarthritis in patients with NPS can be difficult, especially with attempts of patellar realignment, we present a case of a patient who underwent RAUKA, with sustained improvements in patient outcomes and range of motion, at the 2-year follow-up visit. One common vehicle for dissolving toxicants is methanol (CH3OH), a solvent which on its own is capable of altering physiology and behavior high concentrations. This dataset describes behavioral results in zebrafish (Danio rerio) individually exposed to methanol (0.25%, 2.5% vol/vol), or control water, for 30 min prior to behavioral testing. Zebrafish were placed into an open field arena to examine locomotion and zone preference, which was recorded and quantified with motion-tracking software (EthoVision XT). Time spent in the outer ("thigmotaxis") zone of the arena is a proxy for increased anxiety-like behavior in zebrafish. Additionally, a novel object was placed into the center of the arena to quantify relative increases in boldness/exploration between the methanol and control groups. There were no differences in time spent in any zone of the arena or distance travelled between either group, in either test.
