Push Chairs & Prams

If you're on a tight budget and don't want a stroller that can double into car seat carriers the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a flip-flop friendly one-step footbrake.

It's easy to push and it feels solid when you are navigating kerbs and woodland paths. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has built a reputation as the ultimate lightweight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, due to its nimble maneuverability and fold that fits in aeroplane overhead luggage. The most recent version features independent suspension on all four wheels, made of Hytrel Elastomer, which allows it to effortlessly navigate across all types of surfaces and terrain'.

The YOYO2 frame base with a curved fabric bassinet as well as a the 6+ month color pack combine to make a stylish and elegant pushchair that's easy on the eyes and has a subtle but elegant aesthetic and tasteful branding. The frame's weight is less than a kilogram and is so light you can lift it out of the box using just one hand.

It's also easy to add or remove adaptors or attachments - the hood, for example, snaps onto the YOYO2 using reassuring clicks - as well as being machine washable at 30 degrees to remove stains from smushed rice cakes and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram from birth using the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to a stroller from 6 months by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a fantastic choice for parents who are looking for a stroller that can be used in a variety of ways. The Evenflo Pivot Xplore can be transformed from a stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle. Parents can then choose the best mode for their journey. The wagon is able to accommodate two or more children between 6 months to 5 years old. It comes with a large storage basket that can accommodate everything you need on the go.

The Xplore also features dual canopies that move from the front to the back, offering ample sun coverage for all family members. It also has a footwell that is not as deep or large as other wagons, which means it may not be suitable for long excursions or for napping.

The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy, but it does not flex as much as other wagons that we tested. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the competitors, and it does not secure when folded. It is easy to move, however, and can fit through narrow doors of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This basic double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent choice for parents looking for an affordable second stroller for their travels. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and folded size that means it's light, compact when folded and easy to move into a trunk of a car or closet. It also offers an adjustable reclining seat that can be positioned in several positions as well as a cup holder for the parent. Other features worth mentioning include two large hanging storage bags as well as 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels.

It performed better in our push and turn test than most of the other strollers we tested, but it is still difficult to maneuver over uneven ground or through narrow doors. Its sunshades were among the smallest of all strollers we test. They only cover the top, and do not have peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a much larger canopy.

The Delta took us just over three minutes to put together with an average manual and all of the components required tools. However, it is missing some essential features that we think you should consider non-negotiable in a double stroller, for example, a larger basket, and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the most recent addition to Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is billed as an urban travel system. It is designed to accommodate babies from birth to approximately 3.5 years old, easily changing into a seat and carrycot with only a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats and comes with the lightweight Mico 30 infant car seat, stay-in-car base and a reversible baby carriage.

The seat reclines with one hand, and the large shopping basket makes it easy for parents to help their child in and out. Despite this being quite a small pushchair, it was able to handle the bumps of everyday life well and was able to pass through doorways without fuss.

The front wheels are able to be locked in a forward-facing position or rotate. This is helpful when navigating rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to swivel on our walk along an uneven path. It handled the situation well, even though it felt to be a bit rougher.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is most well-known for its three-wheeled, all-terrain jogging strollers. But they also produce a wide selection of pushchairs with four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most popular models. It is easy to use and folds small enough to fit into the car boot, even with the carrycot attached.

It weighs more than other strollers that we tried, but because it comes with rubber composite wheels, it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It maneuvers expertly across different kinds of terrain, and it's easy to move, even when loaded with two children and shopping bags.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that are able to be lower to reveal the UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are strong and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams that can be blown back onto toddlers' faces.

It doesn't have a lot of storage space but it has a large, deep basket to accommodate a changing bag or plenty of food. It can also be used with a Baby Jogger car seat that is suitable for babies up 20 lbs (car seat and adapters are sold separately). The City Tour 2 is a good choice if you want to take a stroller with you on the go.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first appeared on the scene, it stole the hearts of parents across the world. It is an aluminium-framed stroller which can be used from the infant's earliest days through. It's got a lot of standout features, like the ability of the seat to be turned between the front facing parent and the outside as well as a large UPF50+ canopy, an eye shade that flips out, and an adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are tough and filled with foam which minimizes punctures. The chassis also has built-in suspension that takes the sting out of rough terrain. Our tester found it smooth to push and was able to maneuver it through tight streets with ease.

It folds down in four easy steps and locks automatically with no fuss. It can also be rolled and raised for easier transport down the stairs, or in the car's boot. It also comes with a travel system equipped with the option to add a car seat and a carrycot with the adaptors included. The brakes are easy to use, using a single color coded and flip-flop-friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is simple to use and comes with a great dual suspension. It can be folded using just one hand, and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It's also light and robust. The seat can be reclined into many positions and has a built-in double breathable mattress that is suitable from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two extra-large fixed or flip out sun visors, both of which are UPF50+. However, the toggle closure isn't great it's not as quiet as Velcro and could wake sleepy babies.

The Duet is a side-by-side stroller and can be set up to accommodate twins or other siblings (up to 22kg max per seat). It's compatible with two infant car seats and works with a few carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can be positioned to face each other or can turn around and face parents, theoretically reducing sibling disputes over who sits with mom and dad. It comes with a large bottle holder, a gear tray snack tray, and the ability to change mats. It also has an automated frame lock and a superior compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2

It also comes with great safety features, like a 5-point safety harness as well as a wrist safety straps. It also comes with an innovative twist hand brake that's different from the lever type used on rival models.

The seat is very comfortable and offers a large area to sit. However, the seat isn't as deep as those of other runners (it's just 10 inches deep") The storage bin is covered with a zipper that keeps things secure. It can hold up to 10 lbs. It is enough for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters to fit most bassinets and infant car seats however, you can use them from the first day with adapters that will fit brands like BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It's easy to fold and assemble within 5-10 minutes, without tools. The instruction manual is simple to understand and comes in a variety of languages.
