A high level on the anxiety sub-scale of the HADS was found in the two mothers who had a personal psychiatric history. The more depressed or anxious the mothers were, the higher the interaction scores (p = 0.012 and p = 0.032, respectively).

Preterm birth seems to affect the psychological state of mothers and their interactions with their baby.

Axial spondyloarthritis (SpA) is a common inflammatory arthritis characterized by axial skeletal inflammation, enthesitis, and association with HLA-B27. Pro-inflammatory cytokines play important roles in the regulation of inflammatory response and seem to be good candidates involved in the development of this pathology.

To assess the influence of the functional polymorphisms of single nucleotide polymorphims (SNPs) of IL-1 and IL-1 Ra in SpA susceptibility Tunisian patients.

One hundred and one patients and 100 ethnic-matched healthy controls were genotyped. Susceptibility to SpA was showed with SNP's C/T of IL-1α (-889) (p=0.0001) and 1/1 of IL-1Ra (p<10-3). Analysis of SpA patients according to clinical behavior of the disease reveled the influence of these polymorphisms in SpA course. Indeed, individuals carrying the allele T (+3954) of IL-1β and allele 1 of IL-1Ra had an increased risk of peripheral arthritis (p=0.047, p=0.05, respectively). Also the 1/1 genotype of IL-1Ra was significantly decreased in SpA patients having an active disease (BASDAI>4) (p=0.033).

Genetic polymorphisms of pro-inflammatory IL-1/IL-1Ra cytokines seem to be involved in susceptibility and clinical course of SpA in Tunisian patients.

Most of congenital ventricular septal defects evolve towards spontaneous closure of different mechanisms depending on their location.

To determine the prevalence and factors associated with spontaneous closure of congenital ventricular septal defects.

We conducted a retrospective study of 1000 patients diagnosed with congenital ventricular septal defects in our department from January 2000 to December 2017.

After an average follow-up of 52.65 months (± 76.93 months), 183 (18.88%) of ventricular septal defects closed spontaneously. The average time for spontaneous closure was 45.78 months (76.34 months). 30.77% of trabecular ventricular septal defects (p<0.05) and 16.93% of perimembranous defects closed spontaneously (p=0.17). 28.5% of perimembranous defects associated with aneurysm formation versus 17.4% of those without associated aneurysm evolved to spontaneous closure (p<0.05). 65.6% of spontaneous closure occured during the first 3 years of life. In multivariate analysis, trabecular site [OR=2.85; CI (2.05-3.97)] and aneurysms of membranous septum [OR=1.9; CI (1.41-2.8)] were independent factors associated with spontaneous closure of defects.

The highest VSD closure rate was observed during the first three years of life. Trabecular site and aneurysms tissue of membranous septum were found as independent factors associated with spontaneous closure.

Depression is a major burden for the health-care system worldwide. It is important to use standardized and easily applicable tools for large-scale population screening to improve the early detection of depression. The PHQ-9 has been recommended as the best available screening and case-finding instrument based on its brevity and ability to inform the clinicians on both depression severity and diagnostic criteria.

To evaluate the reliability and the validity of the Tunisian version of the PHQ-9 in the general population in Tunisia; the Tunisian version of the Hospital anxiety depression scale (HAD) was used as the gold standard for major depression diagnosis.

We undertook a cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study. A total of 134 participants were enrolled. The PHQ-9 was validated against the HAD reference standard.

Test-Retest reliability was determined by intraclass correlation. This scale was stable over 2 weeks (ICC=0,97).The Tunisian version of the PHQ-9 has a good internal reliability (Cronbach's alpha = 0.84). As for criterion validity of the PHQ-9, the Pearson's correlation coefficient between the PHQ-9 and HAD was 0.94 and the Spearman's correlation coefficient was 0,81. A cut-off score of 10 had a sensitivity of 86,2 and a specificity of 83,8. The VPP was 0,6 and the VPN was 0,9. The prevalence of depression in ours ample was 13,4%. There were no statistical difference in gender, education and age for the prevalence of depression.

The Tunisan version of the PHQ-9 is a valid and reliable casefinding instrument for detecting depression.

New techniques can nowadays treat prostate big in size, which are classically treated by open prostatectomy (OP). Therefore, the place of this procedure that has been used for over 150 years is nowadays questioned. Is it outdated? Is there emerging techniques that are more efficient, safer and cost effective? This state of the art based on literature review will assess the place of OP in BPH surgery from efficacy on functional outcomes, security, competitiveness with modern and minimally invasive techniques and socio-economic perspectives. Currently, OP has excellent functional outcomes, with low rate of retreatment after surgery, low morbidity and affordable cost in our country. SS-31 It remains competitive with new surgery techniques for BPH, even if the latter offer the advantages of a minimally invasive surgery, especially in hospitalization length. Taking in consideration the social and economic context in Tunisia, it remains the most accessible and affordable surgical technique.
