In-hospital patient education is one of the elements affecting patient adherence to treatment regimen after myocardial infarction (MI). This was a single-center, cohort study with a 1-year follow-up. Patient knowledge and expectations were evaluated using the Readiness for Hospital Discharge after Myocardial Infarction Scale (RHD-MIS scale). Medication adherence (including angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI), P2Y12 receptor inhibitors and statins) was verified based on prescription refill data extracted from The National Health Fund database.

The study included 225 patients aged 30-91 years (mean age 62.9±11.9 years). In the 4th quarter of follow-up, patients with the highest expectations had lower adherence regarding ACEI (p=0.01), P2Y12 receptor inhibitors (p=0.03) and the combination of all three analysed medications (p=0.003).

The initial results suggest presence of a relationship between patient expectations and long-term adherence to treatment.

Use of Motivational Interviewing (MI) in education may improve medication-overuse headache (MOH) patients' ability to cope with pain. In a randomised controlled trial, we evaluated the effect of education focusing on behavioural change among MOH patients.

Ninety-eight MOH patients were randomized (11) to standard treatment and 12-weeks of MI-based education versus standard treatment alone after detoxification. Outcome of interest was changes in coping strategies measured by the Coping Strategy Questionnaire at four- and nine months.

The educational program improved patients' perceived efficacy in the use of their coping strategies to control pain, both at four-and nine months follow-up (mean±SE) ∆0.84±0.35, 95% CI0.16;1.52, p=0.02 and ∆ 0.90±0.39, 95% CI0.14;1.66, p=0.02, respectively. No between-group differences were detected in the other coping subscales. Within the intervention group, the coping strategy subscales Catastrophizing, and Reinterpretation of pain sensation were significantly improved at nine months follow-up (p=0.003 vs. p=0.012, respectively). No changes were found in the control group.

COVID-19 pneumonia is the most frequent clinical manifestation of this disease, and its long-term sequelae and possible progression to pulmonary fibrosis are still unknown. The aim of this study is a mid-term review of the sequelae on plain chest radiography (CXR) in patients with a previous diagnosis of COVID-19 pneumonia.

Retrospective review of patients with a diagnosis of COVID-19 pneumonia, assessing the persistence of residual lesions in the control CXR and analysing their possible relationship with epidemiological factors, risk factors, treatments received and initial radiological patterns.

A total of 143 patients (52 women and 91 men) were analysed. Mean age was 64 years. Radiological complete resolution (CR) was observed in 104 (73%) and partial resolution (PR) in 39 (27%). Of the risk factors only age was significantly related to persistence of residual lesions (OR 1.06 CI 95% (1.02,1.10). In relation to treatments, significant differences were found with tocilizumab and glucocorticoids, where treated patients had a higher risk of residual lesions (OR 2.44 (1.03,5.80) and 3.05(1.43,6.51) respectively. In the analysis of radiological patterns, significant differences were observed in patients with peripheral condensations in the acute course and a pattern of early radiological worsening. A clinical-radiological dissociation was evident 83% of patients with residual lesions had no respiratory symptoms.

The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR, also known as Her1) is a member of the human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER) family of proteins and a target of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) positive for activating mutations ofEGFR. Signal transduction by HER family proteins is dependent on their homo- or heterodimerization, but little is known of the relation between the relative proportions of such dimers of Her1 and sensitivity to EGFR-TKIs. We here investigated the feasibility of assessing this relation with the in situ proximity ligation assay (PLA) technique, which is able to detect the interaction of two proteins of interest when they are in close proximity.

In situ PLA was applied to detect Her1 homodimers and Her1 heterodimers in NSCLC cell lines and tissue specimens positive for EGFR activating mutations.

In situ PLA allowed visualization and quantitative assessment of Her1 homodimers as well as of Her1 heterodimers with Her2, Her3, or Her4 not only in NSCLC cell lines but also in NSCLC tissue specimens obtained from various anatomic sites and by different collection methods. In this unprecedented situation, the cross approach and interaction between the French pharmacovigilance network and French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) has been optimized to provide a real-time safety related to COVID-19 vaccines. Every week, pair of regional pharmacovigilance centers gathered safety data from the French pharmacovigilance network, to acutely expertise all the adverse drug reactions (ADRs) reported with each COVID-19 vaccine within a direct circuit with ANSM. Results of this expertise are presented and discussed with ANSM in order to raise safety signals and take appropriate measures if necessary. These reports are then published online. At the 25th of March 2021, more than 9 815 000 doses were injected and 20,265 ADRs were reported, mostly non-serious (76%). Several potential or confirmed signals were raised at the european level for those vaccines and others ADRs are under special attentions. This underlines the adaptiveness of the French pharmacovigilance system to both the identification of new patient profiles experiencing ADRs and the evolution of the vaccine strategy. This study aims to evaluate the oncologic outcomes and predictors of survival using FIGO 2018 staging in a cohort of patients treated in an era of high-precision image-guided radiotherapy.

We performed a retrospective cohort study of 216 adult cervical cancer patients treated with definitive chemoradiotherapy between 2010 and 2018. Eligible patients had non-metastatic cervical cancer treated at a single academic institution. All patients had pre-treatment MRI and CT/PET. Treatment protocol consisted of external beam intensity-modulated radiotherapy and 3D image-guided brachytherapy. Kaplan-Meier curves were used for survival analysis. Multivariate cox proportional-hazards model was performed to identify potential prognostic factors.

Self-sampling for human papillomavirus (HPV) testing is an effective option to increase the cervical screening coverage. How to best triage HPV-positive self-samples remains controversial. Here, we evaluated the performance of a novel p16

immunocytology approach (p16) and HPV genotyping in triaging HPV-positive self-samples.

A cohort of 73699 women were screened via SeqHPV assay on self-samples. HPV-positive women who met any sequential positive result of HPV16/18 or VIA or p16 were referred for colposcopy. A triage strategy was considered favorable if the NPV for CIN3+ was ≥98%, combined with an improvement of sensitivity and specificity in comparison to the comparator, being the 'ASC-US+' triage and the guideline strategy (HPV16/18+ or ASC-US+).

A total of 3510 HPV-positive women were included, 422 (12.0%) CIN2+ and 247 (7.0%) CIN3+ were identified. The positivity of p16 and ASC-US+ were 36.3% and 22.2%, respectively. p16 was more sensitive and less specific than ASC-US+ (P < 0.0001). However, when combined p16 with cytology or genotypes, two triage strategies were superior to the 'ASC-US+' strategy p16 scored 3+; HPV16/33/58/31+ &p16+.
