Severely lipemic body fluid samples were significantly less likely to also be hemolyzed relative to severely lipemic serum/plasma specimens. LD was the test most commonly affected by interference across all body fluid types. False elevations in pleural fluid LD induced by hemolysis can lead to mis-classification of transudative effusions as exudative using Light's criteria. The possible impact of interferences on clinical chemistry testing in body fluids is an important post-analytical consideration. © 2020 The Authors. With advancements in the understanding of human cancers (carcinomas, sarcomas, and hematopoietic malignancies), molecular profiling, especially by Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), is playing an increasingly important role in the diagnosis, prognostication, and therapeutic management of cancer patients. The final and critical step in NGS is the annotation of detected variants and reporting of their clinical significance. Automated bioinformatics tools are available to assist with annotation, but the final responsibility for interpretation and validation of the annotation rests with the pathologist who may be constrained by the pressures of clinical sign-out and limited training in NGS. In this manuscript, we detail our experience in outsourcing variant annotation to a high-quality vendor to improve quality, standardize reporting, and decrease turn-around time of NGS reporting in clinical practice. We describe the composition of the evaluation team, steps that should be taken to evaluate potential annotation vendors, and detailed parameters that should be addressed before contracting with a vendor to guarantee the clinical reliability of the reported annotations. © 2020 Published by Elsevier B.V.The pedigree file of the Boer and Nubian goat breeds in Mexico was constructed using the national database provided by the Asociación Mexicana de Criadores de Ganado Caprino de Registro. Field technicians routinely updated the goat national database by recording information from flocks participating in the performance-recording system. Information on animal identification number, parents, birth date, sex, breed, and farm of origin were used to undertake pedigree analyses using the ENDOG program (version 4.8). This paper presents a pedigree data file, tables and figures of characteristics of pedigree data, pedigree analyses, pedigree integrity, effective population size and genetic conservation index. The data can be used to estimate other population parameters, to monitor the genetic diversity of the Boer and Nubian goat breeds in Mexico, and also to design balanced breeding programs, maintaining genetic variation at reasonable levels and maximizing genetic progress in these populations. © 2020 The Author(s).Ascosphaera apis is an obligate fungal pathogen of honeybee larvae that leads to chalkbrood, which causes heavy losses for the apiculture in China and many other countries. 2-NBDG In this article, guts of 4-, 5-, 6-day-old Apis mellifera ligustica larvae challenged by A. apis (AmT1, AmT2, AmT3) and normal 4-day-old larval guts (AmCK) were sequenced using next-generation sequencing technology. On average, 29,196,197, 28,690,943, 29,779,715 and 30,496,725 raw reads were yielded from these four groups; an average of 29,540,895 clean reads were obtained after quality control. In addition, the mapping ratio of clean reads in treatment and control groups to the Apis mellifera genome were over 97.16%. For more insight please see "Uncovering the immune responses of Apis mellifera ligustica larval gut to Ascosphaera apis infection utilizing transcriptome sequencing" [1]. The dataset of 1116 records, each with 9 parameters and the parameters are mother and father education, the impact of advisor, time spent on study after school, time spent on sports, time spent with mobile per day, the impact of health problems, goal, time spent on yoga or physical exercise. We present descriptive statistics showing mean, median, mode, maximum, minimum, range, standard deviation and variance in the performances of these students and a bar chart representation of the total number of female and male students' Grade Point Average (GPA) with 9 parameters individually. The primary aim of this clause is providing a comparative analysis of female and male students in GPA scoring based on 9 parameters. © 2020 The Author(s).The present datasets reveal that to assess the suitability of groundwater quality for drinking and irrigation uses in both Pre and Post Monsoon Season in Sarabanga River region, Tamilnadu, India based on various water quality indices. A total of 50 groundwater samples were collected in different location in a research area. Water Quality Index (WQI) is a number which indicates the suitability of water for drinking purpose. Sodium Absorption Ratio (SAR), Permeability Index (PI), Residual Sodium Carbonate (RSC), Percentage Sodium (%Na), Kelly Ratio (KR) and Magnesium Hazards (MH) are index value which elaborates the fitness of groundwater for agriculture uses. The WQI value for groundwater in both seasons reveals that 74.5 sq.km and 37.24 sq.km of the area were unfit for domestic purposes. Based on irrigation indices, almost all sample locations are suitable for irrigation purposes. The dataset demonstrates how water quality indices would be applied to policymakers to manage, handle and sustainably improve society at large. © 2020 The Author(s).Soil survey is indispensable for land-use planning in any agro-ecosystem, particularly in coastal ecosystems because they often face several environmental problems such as flooding and water pollution, leading to soil degradation. The data given in this article revealing the common soil types and substantial taxonomy levels in the coastal region of Lattakia, Syria which is a key question for the land-use planning in the region. Data from 30 representative soil profiles and 60 auger points covering different agroecosystems within the Mediterranean coastal region of the Lattakia governorate, Syria were studied. The database including, the field morphological characteristics, physicochemical, mineralogical and micromorphological laboratory analyses. Entisols, Inceptisols, Mollisols, and Vertisols are the main soil types demonstrated in the area, which requiring convenient management for these divergent soils. The full profile data is available online in this data article for further reuse and for appropriate decisions to manage these soils.
