This systematic review and meta-analysis examined studies on the chronic effects of exergames on muscle strength in humans. PubMed, Scopus, CENTRAL, Web of Science, SciELO, Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, and Google Scholar were searched, and manual searches of the reference lists of included studies and hand-searches on Physiotherapy Evidence Database and ResearchGate were conducted from inception to August 10, 2020. Randomized and non-randomized exergame intervention studies with or without a non-exercise group and/or a "usual care intervention group" (any other intervention that did not incorporate exergames), which evaluated muscle strength through direct measurements, were included. Forty-seven and 25 studies were included in the qualitative review and meta-analysis, respectively. The between-groups meta-analyses showed no significant differences between exergames and non-exercise control groups for handgrip strength in heathy/unhealthy middle-aged/older adults or knee extension maximum voluntary isometric e randomized controlled trials with high methodological quality and large sample sizes are needed to provide more compelling evidence in favour of a specific exergame protocol, or to elucidate exergame protocol design principles that appear to strongly influence outcomes.

To extract the organizational climate factors that contribute to safe and effective inter-unit patient handoffs, as well as to capture their crucial characteristics in the context of current Japanese hospitals.

A questionnaire survey was conducted among nursing staff in 31 general hospitals, collecting a total of 5117 valid responses (69% response rate).

A five-factor model was established to determine the inter-unit handoff climate within hospitals. This comprised information and responsibility-related risk, role understanding, communication, handoff environment, and guidelines and process. Based on nursing staff perceptions, the inter-unit handoff climate in Japanese hospitals were generally found to be moderate or moderate-to-high levels across all five of the factors. Nursing staff's perceptions of all five climate factors differed significantly across hospitals and work units, rather than working conditions (full-time vs. part-time) or professions (nurse vs. nurse assistant). All five handoff factoive organizational culture is suggested for creating safer and more effective inter-unit handoffs. Improving the current handoff guidelines and processes in hospitals and using non-licensed assistive staff more effectively are also recommended.Hydrogen gas is a clean-burning fuel suitable for powering public vehicles. Hydrogen fuel has the highest energy density (143 MJ kg-1 ). This research paper emphasizes three-dimensional hydrodynamics and temperature distribution during photobiohydrogen generation by Rhodobacter sphaeroides strain O.U.001 in a triple-jacketed 1 L photobioreactor (PBR). The fermentation broth has turbulent flow conditions and light gradients among various layers, which affect the light conversion efficiency of the PBR. From the carbon source (malic acid), various organic acids are produced within fermentation (lactate, acetate, and formate). Modeling and simulation studies by computational fluid dynamics confirmed uniform fluid dynamics and heat transfer throughout the annular PBR. The modified Gompertz equation gave good simulated fitting with an experimental value for H2 generation. R. sphaeroides O.U. 001 gave good simulated results for H2 generation with mathematical modeling of substrate consumption kinetics and substrate utilization for biomass.

Distress and depression are prevalent in cancer patients throughout survivorship and are associated with adverse outcomes. This study examines the association between outpatient psycho-oncology treatment and distress and depression in cancer patients.

This is a prospective observational study of adult patients with a primary diagnosis of cancer referred for psycho-oncology services. Patients were seen for two psycho-oncology visits in a single clinical setting with various qualified providers. Patients completed the distress thermometer and problem checklist (DT+PL) and the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) at the beginning of their first and second visits and repeated the DT at the end of these visits.

The analysis included 174 patients seen once and 69 patients seen twice. Patients were seen on average 2.5 years after diagnosis. Both visits were associated with significant reductions in distress (5.56 before and 3.85 after for visit 1, p<0.001; 4.92 before and 3.43 after for visit 2, p<0.001)ider type, intervention or timing of diagnosis. These findings support the use of psycho-oncology services in cancer patients throughout survivorship.Early pancreas allograft failure most commonly results from vascular thrombosis. click here Immediate surgical intervention may permit pancreas allograft salvage, typically requiring thrombectomy. In cases of partial allograft necrosis secondary to splenic arterial thrombosis, distal allograft pancreatectomy may allow salvage of at least half of the pancreas allograft with retention of function. We retrospectively reviewed four cases of simultaneous pancreas and kidney recipients who required distal allograft pancreatectomy for splenic artery thrombosis with necrosis of the distal pancreas. Three of the four maintained long-term allograft function with euglycemia independent of insulin at six months to six years of follow-up, and all patients continue to maintain normal renal allograft function. Early diagnosis and early intervention are essential in order to salvage the pancreas allograft in the case of thrombosis. Distal allograft pancreatectomy can be performed safely and result in excellent long-term outcomes in select patients.Currently, canine soft tissue sarcoma (STS) grading is based on histopathology. In humans, several studies have demonstrated concordance between cytologic grading systems for STS and histologic grade. The aim of this study was to correlate several cytologic parameters (smear cellularity, anisokaryosis, nucleolar malignancy score, multinucleation, and the number of mitotic figures per 200 cells) that form part of a human STS cytologic grading system, with histologic grades of canine cutaneous and subcutaneous STS. Three observers (blinded) reviewed the cytologic preparations independently from cases with confirmed histologic diagnoses of STS. A cytologic grading score was assigned for each parameter. Correlations between cytologic grading scores (averaged between observers) and histologic grades were assessed using Spearman's correlation coefficient, with statistical significance defined as P less then .05. Twenty-one cases were included in the study (10 Grade I STS, nine Grade II STS, and two Grade III STS).
